  1. This is a bit hyperbolic. Losing would suck but I don't think this is the moment the wheels necessarily come off nor should we start firing/hiring/etc.
  2. I think we are gonna see some massive holes in the OL just because there is basically only one clear block to build from and that is Moton. It is basically impossible with little to no draft capital in 2022 for us to handle it in the draft. Signing in free agency can get expensive if you want quality players. I just hope we don't find out that our coaches and FO don't know how to properly evaluate offensive linemen. That is definitely a big fear I have.
  3. fug. That's right. We put him on IR.
  4. I mean....we really can't blame the OL on Hurney anymore. That is a Rhule/Fitt thing now. We knew we had a bad line last season and "improved" it by handing out bad contracts to Erving and Elflein, then drafting two OL that have played a combined 75 offensive snaps on one of the worst units in the NFL. Hurney left us with some poo, that is for sure but look how quickly that defense got built from nothing. The OL falls squarely on Rhule. They thought they could make chicken salad out of chicken poo and we are currently eating mayo infused poo sandwiches as a result.
  5. No, they couldn't. I think Brown and BC will be around too. Maybe Daley. Possibly Miller, as well. I can't see why he was brought back but he was. Maybe they like him for some reason. What about Paradis? Last year of his deal but we will actually need someone to replace him. Starting centers don't grow on trees. The truth is, I guarantee it will be way more of them than we want to see back.
  6. I have no basis to make predictions at this point. If we are completely healthy, it is possible we see that dominant defense again and with CMC back that our OC can actually lean on him to run our offense.
  7. Actually, this is an even more interesting question....which of our current OL will suit up for us in 2022?
  8. You want to find your least shitty combination, though. It will let you know precisely what order to cut them this offseason.
  9. What line up do we expect to see on Sunday? What line up do you WANT to see on Sunday? I'll take Erving, BC, Paradis, Brown and Moton. Give me some combination of those dudes for just one game. My God.....we fuging started a literal couch free agent in Michael Jordan this past week. WTF do we have to lose?
  10. I don't think the team that traded for him would be eager to give him up. Perhaps when his rookie deal is up after 2022 but having a capable backup that isn't even getting $1 mil is not something I would ever give up. I was genuinely stunned what they were able to get him for in a trade.
  11. Yeah and much like the few Slye fanboys that thought he could iron out his yips and mental issues, sometimes those are the hardest things to get past as a professional athlete. Some people have it and some just simply do not.
  12. He was still displaying issues processing in the first three games but they didn't hurt us because the offense was much more in sync and our defense was able to dominate poor offensive opponents. Plus, I think we are seeing how incredibly reliant we are on CMC being healthy for this offense to work at all. Also a very bad sign. Darnold has always been a Jekyll and Hyde player, he was in NY too. I am quite sure that is why Snow pointed him out to the staff. He does have fleeting moments of great play. But, like many other players that don't make it, he isn't able to do it consistently enough. He is pretty much who I thought he was and his stats are basically the same they have been his entire career. I am sure he is gonna have a handful of good games in these last 11 and then be the sole reason for a few losses, as well. It's just who he is. It is what it is. I will be happy to be proven wrong but I can't see a way out of the problem he has. It isn't mechanics breaking down, it isn't only struggling with pressure, it is that he just cannot process the information in front of him quickly enough to be an effective NFL starter.
  13. I literally don't understand the people blaming this on the defense. I am not sure what game they were watching. Just look at the fuging drive summaries alone. The offense had generated 6 points prior to that last drive that didn't come off short fields due to TO's created by the defense or scores by special teams.
  14. I just don't think he is capable of fixing his issue with processing. Typically a rookie would struggle with that and steadily improve over a season or two(or three sometimes). He isn't any better than he was in his rookie year, maybe even worse. Normally the guys that struggle with that aren't in the league very long. I think his best bet is to spend an extended period of time as a journeyman backup QB in the NFL. If he can hack that, maybe it will eventually just start to click enough for him to a solid player in a few years. It's obvious field time isn't improving him at all and especially with the OL situation we have. That is something even a competent and capable veteran would have issues with. He isn't either of those so it's almost an impossible task. It's tough to watch as a fan, that is for sure. I suspected he would fail here under these conditions but it's been worse than I thought. It sucks because he is so talented and he seems like a nice guy.
  15. I am not sure we will be "splash" active in the trade market prior to the deadline. The question becomes who do you go get? The obvious answer is OL but Fitterer has stated that he can't even get teams to come off backup OL. But, if you are trading away assets to get more draft capital, that sort of indicates tanking incoming. Every trade we made so far was a "win now" trade not a draft capital trade.
  16. Before you go annointing Willis, you might want to put on the tape from last year of his losses. It was not pretty. Here is a name that actually intrigues me.....Kenny Pickett. Worth a later round flier if available?
  17. Emezie is not even a PS caliber WR. Knight is an NFL caliber player.
  18. Darnold is likely done here already but what "done" means could get interesting. We picked up his 5th year option(a decision I am sure everyone in the organization is regretting now) which is fully guaranteed. So, trading or cutting him doesn't make a lot of sense. It is VERY possible, if not likely that he sticks around for that 5th year. I suspect it would be as a backup, because I cannot fathom Rhule wanting to put his future in Sam Darnold's hands again. Which.....were he not getting paid almost $19 mil next year.....Sam Darnold would be a decent NFL backup QB. Honestly, he might actually eventually start to improve a little with a few years holding a clipboard.
