53 spots is tough to fit a single use player in, especially when you can just sub in an extra OL or TE to perform thise specific FB functions. You have to be an offense that REALLY uses a lead blocker a lot to justify someone like that, even if they play special teams.

Nijman is not the answer at RT. He is a backup. Our fanbase has a real problem falling in love/believing in backup caliber offensive linemen.

Yeah, they weren't great, for sure. Still, the officials were a significantly less significant issue than the Panthers themselves. We were exceptionally poorly prepared, coached, etc. That's the real story. Poor officiating is largely an excuse for performing extremely poorly. -
