  1. But we didn't do that for Erving or Elflein. That checks out.
  2. Name another Panthers QB who is undefeated in their career?
  3. I interpret this as "Brady Christensen is a massive mistake of a pick."
  4. That would explain the sole focus on defense.
  5. My grade would be C+. Some big blunders but I still attribute a big chunk of the overall blame to Rhule.
  6. Boy that has some cringey comments in hindsight.
  7. That is not even close to worth a second round pick. Nor is Darnold anything close to DA.
  8. We poo the bed on his development?? He came to us as a three year professional STARTER. He had long since shat the bed. There was no development left.
  9. Derek Anderson had been a Pro Bowl QB when we got him. Sam Darnold was a three time winner of "Worst NFL QB." So, how is that even a remotely good comparison?
  10. Agreed. I don't recall any real reports of any other serious interest for Darnold. The Jets straight up fleeced us.
  11. It is funny to blame the fans for selling their tickets when the franchise is unable to put a watchable product on the field with any consistency. The fact that we are seeing more opposing fans is that we have had a winning season since 2017. How about you show me a current NFL team with a similar losing streak that isn't seeing fans not attend games.
  12. Hindsight? Hindsight??? Bro, I was on the "Hell No To Darnold" ship before that trade was even mentioned. Feel free to search this forum for those receipts. If I had whiffed on Stafford and Watson, I am scrambling for every veteran QB available at that time. Tyrod Taylor, Jacoby Brissett, Andy Dalton, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jameis Winston, etc. fuging ANYONE that can be a mid to lower level starter in the NFL. Then I am looking at QB prospects in the draft. If I think Fields is the guy at 8, I take Fields. If not, draft Slater(wanted Sewell, FWIW) and see if there is another young QB to bring in through the draft(Davis Mills). If all that fails in the draft, start looking at guys like Trubisky to bring in on cheap one year deals to create a competition. So, none of that was difficult go accomplish. None of it. Because I have multiple options to pursue, regardless of what is available. But, these guys? They trade three draft picks for a talented but well proven bust. Then they double down by signing his 5th year option. How about this, name a QB needy team in the 2021 offseason that flubbed it as badly as ours at the moment?
  13. Yeah, he is so bad that 3rd string is likely where he slots right now. IMO, he will go to one more team as a backup and then be out of the NFL.
  14. Rhule has final roster decisions. My ultimate guess is that Rhule is largely the architect during the offseason, when he has time to deal with player evaluations. Fitterer is largely responsible for the mid-season moves, where Rhule is consumed by trying to finish "How to be an NFL Coach for Dummies" during the week.
  15. You have a player that was a massive bust that is on a cheap, on year prove it deal. Then you immediately pay him a large guaranteed salary with the most interaction with him being over Zoom. Super, super, super not smart. What makes it worse? The fact we gave up multiple picks for him.
  16. Yeah, hence why I bristled at that comparison. Cam was far from perfect his rookie season be he was a phenomenon. Coordinators had to game plan for him. Fields may be that guy eventually, but he is not that guy so far. He's a struggling, talented rookie QB trying to figure it all out.
  17. The issue really are his dramatic failures on QB and the OL. The draft hasn't looked great this year but we are also talking about half a season into young players careers. Also, his trades for Henderson and Gilmore make the selection of Horn look bad. I realize that it is mostly perception but when you look at the OL and QB(both positions we could have upgraded), it does hurt the argument for CB in hindsight. Now, all that said.....this is 99% Rhule's fault. The buck stops with him on personnel, so he takes the blame.
  18. Don't forget Fox and AJ Bouye who have played well. Tremble and Nixon look like good pickups. The BC and Brown draft picks make his OL efforts look even worse.
  19. Yeah but we heard the bad coaching angle with Darnold and it turned out to not be the case. I liked Fields at the time but he appears to be a project. We will see in about 2-3 years how it is progressing. I'd definitely rather have him than Darnold because at least there is the hope for the future, but nothing he did on Monday night looked like a rookie starting his ascension to elite status.
  20. Young Cam? Cam was immediately better than Fields. I understand the comparison but Cam was much better early in his career than Fields has been.
