Carolina Panthers HC's - Winning % Through First Two Seasons
kungfoodude replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Could go as low as 0.303, in theory. -
Points for and against ranks, adjusted for opponents

If Tepper buys anything Rhule is selling, I have no idea how he became a hedge fund billionaire. -
I think the staff is seeing the benefit in having a real veteran QB with Cam being back. We'll sign Kurt Warner to a 3 year contract.
-
Notice how scarce the Sunshine Squad got when the obvious started playing out? Funny thing is, for all the shade that gets thrown around about "negativity" the "realists" largely stick around good, bad or Matt Rhule. You don't go hide in a corner when the chips are down.

Well, it's really the only worse scenario than losing out so I have to assume it will happen for that reason alone. -
I preached endlessly about that "versatility" poo being a really bad idea. This was SO fuging predicatable. This is the most maddening part about the Matt Rhule era, when they make dumb moves, they make dumb moves that even a casual NFL fan wouldn't make.
-
I am scared we see some Bill O'Brien level trading to save Rhule's ass. I don't like having a one stop shop for decision making when they are on the hot seat.

Ole Miss doesn't make any sense at all. If he leaves here(willingly) it would be for a much better job than that. Also, keep in mind that not every big time college might be enamored with a guy known for building from nothing and then bouncing after 3 years. One thing that Matt Rhule has never technically shown is the ability to sustain success.

The cupboard wasn't that bare, we made it bare. It is what it is. Nothing we can do about it now. -

I don't think we have to try to tank, unfortunately. Much like last year, I suspect we will win a game as we have ascended draft positions and then make the fan even more mad. -

Most competent NFL teams never go full rebuild. You tweak your roster every offseason but never tear it down to the bare bones and try to start from scratch. It blew my mind when we did that. -

So does PJ start next week? Does anyone even care?

Develop? Into what? A journeyman backup? -
Kept looking at the lights for a secret message indicating Rhule was gonna get fired.

Dane Brugler Mock Draft 1.0 (from The Athletic)
kungfoodude replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hard to say. As always, I am a big believer in the NFL being a self motivating league. If you have "it" then you will work to be the best and success will come at some point. If you never see Trubisky ascend above a journeyman backup player then he was probably what his detractors said about him at the time, a one year wonder that got overdrafted in a weak QB draft. -
Well, technically the most a team would be on the hook for is $12 mil in 2025. The only guaranteed money on the deal is $8.4 mil next year. It's actually not an AWFUL contract to trade. Now, it would nuke our 2022 cap with dead money. Plus, the missing 23 of the past 33 games is not going to make many teams at all interested in taking on that deal unless the price is very low. I think what will likely happen IF he continues to not get healthy in 2022 is we jettison him for nickels in a trade after the 2022 season or just simply take the cap hit and cut him. Either way, the bulk of this board was flipping poo at the small group of us that were against the signing at the time. This is literally what we were concerned about. I can't say enough how bad of an idea it is in the modern NFL to pay top 5 money for a RB. ANY RB.

Erving is pretty awful. I don't care to ever see him suit up for us again, TBH.

In the first round? Yeah, not as high as he went. I get the "Texas Tech gimmick offense" thing. He just seemed to have more NFL tools than their average "system" QB. Would I ever have predicted him to be what he has become? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck no. -

Yeah, I was definitely not a Trubisky fan. They didn't have similar grades. I literally told you my grades for them. How are you arguing my grades when you asked me for them? I don't even understand how that's a thing. -
Lincoln Riley and Brian Kelly’s contracts

The NIL rights basically allows the universities to avoid the threat of paying athletes directly. You are about to witness the next big spending spree in college football for the next few seasons. Especially with playoff expansion and conference expansion. TV deals are about to get stupid. -

At the time I wasn't a huge fan of Lamar. Other than that, all 1st round caliber guys. -

Go check out his games against other P5 teams and upper end G5 teams. It's really bad. -
If he starts and stinks, fire everyone the next day.
