I think we have to eventually get serious about getting a real center. None of those guys mentioned are legit top 15-20 NFL centers. Mays is a BC-esque backup, where is value is maximum. Corbett is really an OG playing out of position and we know BC is a utility depth piece. We have a ton of roster needs over the next 2-3 offseasons/drafts but we should finally get a Day 1-2 center drafted, IMO. OT's are as you say, we could be set there or we could be heading towards a reset. TBD. I just hope we don't lose our focus on keeping the trenches strong. On BOTH sides of the ball, for that matter. I am concerned that with our constant changing of coaches and GM/FO guys that will get fuged up.

Hunt is a little overrated by the fans because he is a bruiser and plays very physically like Andrew Norwell did. IMO, Lewis is the more consistent of the two OG's overall. But, the addition of those two guys turned that unit around completely. That isn't debatable. Remains to be seen how that works out in the long term, given it runs counter to almost all roster building theory to have most of your OL money in the two OG's.

I think we will be forced to finally address it when Corbett gets injured again this season. Hate to predict that but it has been very constant.

A 3.3% INT rate versus a 2.9% INT rate? I would say that is pretty much right on par. Darnold averages 0.55 fumbles/GM and Fitzpatrick 0.51 fumbles/GM.

He is a poor man's Ryan Fitzpatrick. Yes he can get hot for stretches but more playing time reveals he is a backup QB only.

Not saying you are wrong but Baker had a ton of success prior to us and Darnold was a massive bust. Basically the best he has ever been was last season on an insanely loaded roster with an insanely loaded coaching staff. He is a bum.

One could argue the same for Goff(far better than Jimmy G, mind you). I think fans often get enamored with the Tier 2 and even Tier 3 QB's at times. Hell, portions of our fanbase are STILL fooled by Sam Darnold, despite him bombing so badly here.

100%. I may not think a lot of him as a player but I am happy for him as a person for getting that bag. Especially as Mr. Irrelevant. Great story, even if he doesn't get to the ultimate NFL heights.

Not sure where you are getting that from. That is a $53 mil AAV which would be in the back half of the top 10 in pay.

This is the thing that most Panthers fans can't comprehend because we are a franchise that so rarely ever has draft success. Also, this one is still largely in question. If Tremble never really improves, he is a JAG. If Horn doesn't stay healthy or ascend, he was a bust. Then it goes from an okay draft by Panthers standards to just another bad Rhule/Fitterer draft. It's also such a strange period to be grasping at straws to try and justify as being good. Hindsight has thoroughly proven the architects of that era as being wholly incompetent if not outright charlatans.

I think Purdy has earned JAG+ status. Debatable 2nd or 3rd tier guy.

They are already starting to have to make moves and re-tool. TBD if that will be successful or not. I will say, all things considered, this isn't a terrible contract. Way better than I was expecting it to be. Would have been better around $45-50 mil AAV. Curious to see the structure.
