  1. I believe they will trade that pick if they can. Either to get a player or more picks. Basically, they will find a way to fug this up. Also, I honestly don't think this staff would be that interested in Jimmy G. Just a hunch but he doesn't seem to fit the mold of what they want. Jimmy G is what "good Darnold" basically is.
  2. Under Rhule, we have not drafted based on BPA, we drafted based on need, as determined by Rhule. He has basically said as much. We don't do BPA.
  3. I am not very convinced that Fitt has much of an eye for OL talent either. His time with Seattle didn't much indicate it and his performance in the last draft(although MOSTLY Rhule's fault as the final say) and free agency doesn't inspire confidence in their abilities to evaluate those guys at all. Mariota would be able to battle with Darnold but what is that saying, really? Shell of Cam was able to battle with Sam, but in the end Rhule simply played "his" guy. That is likely what would happen if we end up with Mariota. If we go out and sign him, he'll be starting because they are convinced he is the guy and the performances won't matter in camp(see Grier, Will).
  4. Once the Bucs are out, I don't dislike any of the remaining teams. I can look forward to a Super Bowl without any insufferable teams.
  5. Mariota doesn't bring anything to us. We had our bridge QB at the time(Teddy) and we all got mad(fans and coaches alike) and blew that up. After extending PJ Walker and trading for/extending Darnold, my gut tells me whatever we do at QB will likely be ultimately worse. That just seems to be the Matt Rhule way. I also expect that our OL will get worse in 2022.
  6. I believe he didn't watch us play in 2021 or doesn't know much about us. OR he is using a genius level of perception to know Matt Rhule will do the worst thing possible.
  7. He isn't an NFL level athlete. The type of running he was doing at UNC would shorten his career A LOT. He's probably average to above average at the NFL level in terms of athleticism. But remember that position now includes more and more elite athletes every season. Willis possibly being one.
  8. You realize Matt Rhule is our GM too, right? He has final say on all roster decisions. Did you see any of the Panthers draft videos? Did that look like a guy that was just listening to what he was being told or was telling people what he wanted? Matt Rhule is completely responsible for this roster. He wouldn't take this job without total control of the roster and we gave him that. For that, he bears all responsibility for the sad shape it is in.
  9. Hopefully Rams, obviously. The other game is tough. I think the Bills take that.
  10. Tepper isn't waiting. That would be accidentally losing him.
  11. If we keep Rhule after another losing season(high probability), we aren't going to be seeing meaningful success for a very long time. But, we will have some glory years to remember in the pre-Tepper era. Technically we will be able to say we lived through the best years of the franchise. That isn't nothing.
  12. I would gladly take Willis in the 2nd or 3rd if I was a franchise with competent coaching. His ceiling is extremely high.
  13. I would hold the phone on the "functional offense" idea. Even if McAdoo was good as an OC, he has his work cut out for him with what we have currently and that's assuming our roster doesn't get worse this offseason. I definitely remember plenty of people saying after 2020 that the OL couldn't possibly be worse. Rhule/Fitt said "hold my beer."
  14. We've already settled into the realization we are the Browns. That didn't take long.
  15. Canes are the best team in the NHL, Hornets could sneak into being a 5 seed. Pro sports is going well right now for NC. Don't let the Panthers dampen the mood.
  16. Yeah, he said it football terminology but I am not seeing that as an example him being some John Nash of football. I mean, if you look at some of his offenses, they show he is a very intelligent guy. This is just an odd example of proving that.
  17. He is brilliant because he knew his own play and that the defender was gonna hold?
  18. It's working. 1000%. You just can't see it.
