  1. Yeah, if Cross/Neal/Ekwonu are off the board, Penning, Green and Linderbaum are still there. Trade down, get a starter and maybe another starter on that OL.
  2. Need one of the DE's to blow people away at the combine/workouts. Lots of teams with OL needs ahead of us.
  3. After the Senior Bowl, I would assume Corral might be #1 by default.
  4. Really strange that he would want to come here, TBH.
  5. Remember every press conference after a loss where he threw players, coaches, etc under the bus? See a pattern?
  6. Here is the sad/scary part, I think that we may end up saying the same thing with "Tepper" in that sentence.
  7. That isn't how those contracts typically work. He took a short term, small deal so he can raise his stock eventually. Same thing Cam and Winston did. The goal isn't to sign a long term deal for nickels.
  8. That contract makes zero sense for him or us.
  9. Yeah but that is a sinking/floating turds scenario. Cam was better than Darnold too but not better enough to actually matter. Wouldn't be drastically different with Trubisky. He's definitely better but is he a 10+ win QB here? Extremely unlikely.
  10. I mean, I can't help your personal biases. That's a you thing. Trubisky had his moments and he can get hot and torch people but he is also extremely inconsistent and plagued by the crippling downfalls most gunslingers are. He's unlikely to ever be a full time starter in the NFL again.
  11. This is literally the defense people had for Darnold when we signed him. Trubisky just wasn't the guy. He isn't ever going to be a franchise QB. He's a backup that is capable of getting hot for a few games and winning while your starter gets healthy.
  12. He for sure could have not thrown some of the completely insane INTs he did against just about all high caliber D1 talent. If you want to gamble on a guy in this class, he is the one. But you'd be nuts or desperate to do it with a 1st round pick if you need immediate help. His floor is really, really low.
  13. I still think Lance is gonna be the best of that bunch. I loved everything about his intangibles. He might be amazing paired with someone like Shanahan.
  14. Yeah and Trubisky is likely a career backup, so getting in a place with some stability is gonna help him better prepare for a longer term NFL career. Nothing wrong with having a McCown-like career. I don't think taking the shelling he would have in Carolina would do anything for his long term career.
  15. He stole the show for the things that put him on the radar. Excellent athlete and crazy arm. Now the negatives......SUPER suspect decision making and if people ragged on Zach Wilson for performing poorly versus good competition, Willis was far worse. It's not clear he is more than a one read guy, either.
  16. Not the game, man. The game is irrelevant. The practices are what matters at the Senior Bowl. The best case scenario is to avoid all these QB's.
  17. I was not a Jones fan at all. Still am not, really. Keep in mind that he won a game this year passing the ball 3 times and had a total of two 300+ yard passing games. People are rushing to thinking Jones is good. I remember seeing people jerk off all over Matt Cassell, Jimmy G and Jacoby Brissett who played well in New England too. All basically backups or average starters. I don't believe that we will be thinking much of Mac Jones in 4-5 seasons.
  18. Both Wilson and Lance have stronger arms than Howell(Lance not as much as Wilson). Lance is a better athlete than Howell(a very good athlete in his own right at the college level). Lance has high intangibles, all you have to do is dig into his background and that sticks out immediately. Especially with Lance the football IQ is exceptional and his work ethic is exceptional. When you look across the board, Wilson was just better at everything than Howell(deep ball accuracy, off platform throws, etc). The only genuine advantage Howell probably has are college reps. He is the far more experienced college player. Howell also is coming from a largely one read offense, so he seems to be lacking in seeing the field well. That's not entirely his fault but it does brings questions about his ability to see the field(something Malik Willis is atrocious at). Howell has a nice deep ball but had issues in college with accuracy and traditionally that is a trait that doesn't get better in the NFL(two of three seasons with sub-63% completion percentage).
  19. I mean, if you can't understand what that means, I am not sure you really are going to understand much about even rudimentary prospect evaluation.
  20. I would have taken Wentz, Trubisky, Winston or any number of other reclaimation QB's over Darnold. He was obviously a bust. But our braintrust thought he looked like Matt Stafford. That speaks volumes.
  21. It's a new world. Social media follows and unfollows are the temperature check on relationships. Wow.
  22. You mean other than the extremely obvious physical traits?
  23. This scenario applies to us. You are probably about to see Rhule say "hold my beer" on that sentiment. It can get a lot worse, even if you are already picking in the top 10.
  24. Yeah, for all the Howell stans....you know we can just get Trubisky for nickels and won't cost us any draft capital, right? And Trubisky may be a better NFL QB than Howell(wouldn't surprise me). I don't expect Trubisky to come here and light it up but that is one of the better low risk, low cost gambles for a QB competiton with Sam I Am.
