Losing record at the NYJ, better overall record with the Pats than Parcells(no seasons sub .500), .606 winning percentage with Seattle and a Superbowl, two NC's at USC and a 97-19 record. He has literally won everywhere but the NYJ.

I think that's possible but the odds of any of those QB's outside Ward/Sanders being more than backups is very, very low IMO. Worst class since 2022.
-
The difference is that Pete has been successful at literally every stop. Ron hasn't.
-
I probably wouldn't look at QB's in this class outside the 6th or 7th round.
-
Dart is basically a 3rd string guy, IMO. I don't think he has what it takes to be an effective #2 QB in the NFL.
-
I would actually bet on sneaky Pete being more successful in LV than Seattle being with the moves they are making under their HC.
-
Ward and Sanders are really mid first to mid second round guys in a stronger class. But, by that same token, a lot of the guys mocked in the top 10 at the moment might late first rounders in a stronger year.

REPORT: Panthers going after SAF Jevon Holland

SIMULATED free agency??? -
Fair enough. Former tier 2 NFL QB(right behind the elite guys). He spent a chunk of his career as a top 10-12 QB.
-
I mean....someone is going to have to explain the generational prospect part for a guy that spent a LOT of time on the pine behind a projected 4th-5th round pick.
-
If they want to tank, I guess. Again, it would be a strange move for a 2nd year HC. Thunderrun to number 1 for the Manning kid(maybe the most overrated prospect in my lifetime)?
-
I would say they are probably more screwed if they end up with a rookie QB. That poo only lasts about a season and then your "but, but, but I had a rookie QB!" argument goes away forever. It might buy them a season, at most.
-
Sounds like an Evero guy!
-
And I am reticent to get tied to a lot of expensive and potentially scheme dependent players for a DC that is likely to be gone VERY soon and a HC likely to be gone in the next couple of seasons.
-
If we didn't have questionable people at the helm, this is a great draft to acquire MORE 2nd and 3rd round picks. But....Panthers.

Mike Garafolo: Panthers are in on DK Metcalf trade
kungfoodude replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
TBH, I would rather just get more top 90 picks from them for that swap. We get far better than DK Metcf being added with competent drafting and more resources(I know, I know, we haven't seen any competent drafting in years). I think that also depends on if Seattle opts to go free agency for a QB. I will say, it would be a pretty strange move to deconstruct the offense like that in year two of a young HC. -
There have been a couple of articles saying we will be aggressive, so I would expect splashes early. I think it's just a matter of how much we are willing to overpay for our prime targets. Sadly, I don't think you will see any "splash" signing without a price tag that is going to upset most of the fanbase. It's just purely shitbox franchise economics. We aren't the only awful franchise that free agents take advantage of for a massive payday.

I think a lot depends on how the FA options shake out. Vegas was a team that a lot had tied to drafting a QB and they went and got the best QB option available, not that anyone really knew it was an option, rather than attempt a move up. So it's gonna be about who thinks of those two rookie options is "the guy." IMO, purely speculation, but I think Giants go veteran. Namely because Daboll is on the hot seat. Rookie QB is typically not a good idea for a hot seat coach.
-
I would say that you should also remember that this there are some attractive options at DE/EDGE in free agency/trade now. Keep an eye on them to see if they also make a FA move/trade to address it like Vegas did with Geno. If that doesn't happen, I think that is likely telegraphing the Carter move.
-
Wonder if Vegas made the Geno move as a sign they don't expect to see Ward/Sanders or as a general vote of no confidence in them as prospects? The offseason is getting pretty spicy already.
-
Howell starting would be a very obvious tank move. It's strange for a HC to be down with a full tank in year two. I am skeptical about that. I think maybe they recognized that Geno was basically a 10-15 ranked QB that was likely still going to command a significant price. The QB market has some interesting options too. Washed former greats(Rodgers, Wilson, Cousins), draft QB's that no one is super excited about and some potentially attractive reclaimation projects for the completely delusional(Darnold, Fields).

Well now Seattle could need to move up, as well.
