  1. I mean....if being on a bad team makes you want to quit as a rookie.....then professional football probably isn't important to you. I don't know if that was specifically the case with Henderson. IIRC, it was some bad family elements that were supposedly dragging him down in Jacksonville. I will say, he is gonna have to show a pretty big improvement this season because he didn't look any better than he did in Jacksonville.
  2. They probably would still have been busts. I don't think many great players were ruined by lack of development. It's professional sports, if you aren't developing yourself, you aren't an elite player.
  3. Agreed. The modern era has shown that QB's with the ability to play well will show themselves pretty early. All the "development talk" always surrounds QB's that kick around the league with the same tired hope that they will eventually become something they aren't. Ryan Tannehill is never gonna be elite. Jameis Winston is never gonna be elite. Mitch Trubisky is never gonna be elite. Marcus Mariota is never gonna be elite.
  4. I don't think there is a QB coach in the NFL now or in the last that could make Darnold a quality NFL starter. Or Will Grier. Or OJ Walker. So, as much as McAdoo might be a good QB coach, this situation will really be about how good Corral actually is. That's really the beginning and end of that discussion, IMO.
  5. Agreed. The examples of guys that sit on the bench for a couple of seasons and then light it up when they get a chance are pretty few and far between in the past 25 years. If you can play at this level, you will see the field ASAP.
  6. I don't think that's comforting. And I don't say that as a guy that hates Corral at all. I just seriously question our ability to evaluate talent outside "The Hurney Zone."
  7. I would guess they have tried to dump him most of the offseason and gotten next to no interest that wasn't wildly in the other teams favor. Even if it did happen, I would bet the Browns just basically cut him.
  8. He can be developed on the bench. Although if you can't beat out these guys, not sure any development will matter much. I also don't know that this is the staff to even be able to develop him.
  9. We haven't often added players via trade after the season starts. That has been rare up until recently.
  10. Eh....we will see. Anything above a 5th and I am not gonna be pleased. 1st to 3rd round should be completely off the table. 4th if they take Darnold and all his salary.
  11. I really doubt Darnold ends up in the deal. Doesn't make sense for the Browns to take him.
  12. Well they didn't immediately pull the trigger so it wasn't Darnold/Jets bad, apparently.
  13. Keep in mind the Browns, Saints(and a new coach, as well) and 49ers will all be with new QB's. The Browns aren't likely to be with Watson, either. I doubt we would be favored in any of those but it might not be the murderers row that you think.
  14. Well, we don't know is the issue. Rhule was technically the GM last year. But has that conclusively changed? Maybe?
  15. These seem to be four separate thoughts. Not sure the relevance, tbh.
  16. You think Corral would be 3rd behind Darnold or PJ Walker????
  17. I mean....he was the one that trade them away....
  18. Yeah, I don't want to see "hot seat" Rhule making any trades. Hard no to Bill O'Brien moves. If we really believe this long rebuild poo, then act like it.
  19. Well Corral also might not be the answer. He was a 3rd round(likely would have been 4th) QB. You really expect them to put all their eggs in that basket?
  20. But can you trust him to be that guy consistently? In fairness, if he does light it up here that would be a big feather in his cap. It's a far worse overall team than he was ever on in Cleveland.
  21. I will be interested to see if Fitterer is out when Rhule goes. Apparently Fitterer is more pro-Baker than Rhule. IDK if that means Tepper is or not. He has supposedly not been exactly quiet on his feelings about the QB position since he became owner.
  22. I think people hated Rivers because he was a trash talking QB. I would question why any Panthers fan would hate that because Cam was also a trash talking guy. He was fantastic at it.
  23. To be fair, last year wasn't his only bad year. He's been an every other year player. That's probably the biggest reason why everyone is steering clear. He's insanely inconsistent. Even by gunslinger standards.
