  1. Yeah but you have to replace him with someone of similar or better caliber. That isn't going to come cheaply. The odds of getting someone like that in free agency that isn't aging is limited or would garner a potentially even bigger price tag. If you trade for a guy similar, the price you have to pay probably looks similar to what you gave up. So really the best bet would be to have a pick in the range where you can get another elite DE talent. If that is the case, it's a wise choice.
  2. Well considering we allegedly turned down two first rounders, the FO has a very high value on him.
  3. I really don't think that Baker/locker room thing is a real thing. Even from our teams sources they have indicated that hasn't been true at all. The biggest part that we will struggle with is finding a team that thinks Baker can actually help them win. That will be an even bigger problem with Darnold because I don't think any other team in the NFL believes he is capable of starting and winning an NFL game again.
  4. Yeah, however that isn't the way you go about accomplishing that unless you plan on trading all the wealth of picks you just got to move up and get a guy you like. We probably will be in a position to get a top caliber QB prospect this draft, so there is no reason to get rid of one of your young core players.
  5. Mays seems like he is suited to be a potential as a starter or at least a quality backup. I hope so, anyway. Still need to invest a couple of picks on the OL this offseason again. Build some exceptional depth.
  6. If we could fleece someone like that, I'd put a statue of Fitterer out front. But we did get a pick for Greg Little....
  7. Baker would be much easier to trade because his contract is now smaller. Darnold will be the one that is very difficult to get rid of.
  8. How did the autocorrect let that through?? Either way, Brady will need to be a future upgrade. He will be a good backup in the future but he is not suited to being a power blocking OL.
  9. I'd rather have the picks rather than a guy that is probably gonna cost a lot of money in the near future.
  10. Yeah and you can't get rid of elite QB's, LT's or pass rushers unless there is no hope of rectifying the situation. It's just too hard to ever get another one.
  11. Yeah but I also don't think that we are so far away from contending that we need a fire sale. Especially for guys still on rookie deals. Expensive vets I understand.
  12. It would be tremendous. To have a rookie LT start that way would erase a lot of iffy moves in recent drafts. And it would also finally give some hope that the multi-year search for a Jordan Gross replacement has finally ended.
  13. I get the thought process behind wanting the two 1st rounders but elite pass rushers are one of the three most important positions in the NFL for a reason. It is definitely tough to turn down 2 first round picks but finding a Burns replacement may take either draft after draft to achieve or cost an amount in free agency that we could simply just invest in Burns.
  14. Tanking is rarely ever an on the field thing, it's a front office thing. Coaches and players want to win. Now the FO can set up the situation to where the entire organization knows what the deal is. Even then, players still have contract performance bonuses to achieve and coaches want to show they can still perform well with a shitty hand.
  15. Yeah, I mean I agree but definitely not with the picks we got. Plus, them going deep is really a lose/lose. Jimmy G is incapable of leading them there and our picks would suck for nothing.
  16. Wrong? Why would you want them to do well? It helps us none.
  17. Peyton Manning was the worst starting QB in the NFL in 2015. Brady's worst had never been anywhere near as bad at Peyton's last year.
  18. It might just be that we need retooling as opposed to rebuilding. That would be really good, if so.
  19. One thing that helps is our SOS. It's pretty bad at the moment. That is likely to change, though.
  20. Beating the Bucs.... Also beating the Bucs....
  21. Yeah, the CMC fan boys need to let that one go. This is literally why almost no team in the NFL builds around a highly paid RB anymore. If you block well, there are plenty of RB's available that can produce.
  22. Shaq isn't a bad player but that contract is an albatross. If we can get anything for him, I would move him.
  23. Thanks for that rent free space in your head.
