Tremble to attend Tight End University
kungfoodude replied to GRWatcher's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean....only the Panthers haven't given up on Ian Thomas. He's a decent backup guy but he has maxed out his potential. -

Don't look up Tight End University on Pornhub. -
What went wrong? The Sam Darnold Experiment (Video)

I am not terribly convinced he sees his flaws clearly enough to work on them. But, it's alsp possible that he just isn't capable of processing information at a level that is required to be a good NFL QB. It does happen. Plenty of guys make it to the NFL that don't have that ability. -
It doesn't matter where he wants to go, TBH.

Tony Siragusa passed away at 55 years old

There is really no point in posting "death threads" anymore. They somehow turn into Tinderbox material. -
Well, I guess this is now a Tinderbox thread. You guys need to keep this kind of poo in there. Jesus.

It's possible but getting prescription Xanax is very far from difficult.

Yeah, I am not here saying fentanyl isn't an issue but we just find some new boogeyman of a drug every few years/decades, so it will be something else eventually. The issue has very rarely been the substances. It's the people and systems that revolve around the substances. That's why this doesn't change, no matter the century.
-
I rather doubt it was fentanyl laced Xanax. Xanax is plenty dangerous enough on it's own, especially if you are mixing it with booze.
-
The fentanyl epidemic is nothing more than an extension of the 50+ year long opium epidemic which is just a part of a multi-millennia long struggle with addiction to any number of narcotics or poisons that we choose to ingest recreationally. A death in the past week or month or year isn't any more or less tragic than one 10 or 20 or 50 or 1000 years ago. Death is just a part of life. Or, to put it in Panthers terms.....it is what it is. Also, this is an incredibly odd tangent to have popped up in thread about the untimely passing of a Baltimore Ravens LB.

I am not sure Wilks is going to be in a position to be that kind of advisor/mentor. TBH, we have no idea how much of a voice these new hires are going to have.

Add sexual assault to the Dan Snyder allegations
kungfoodude replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I primarily get sent documents via email, so it's very rare that I don't edit the NDA's before signing and returning. Has never been noticed yet. -
Nothing. This has always happened throughout the course of human history.

That looks like an IRL sex dungeon.

Agreed. I remember reading a lot of anonymous quotes from NFL people over the course of the season about how we were basically being run like a college team. I just don't see that as particularly recoverable, unfortunately. It's going to have to be a post-Rhule fix, even with more experienced NFL guys around.

There are more questions than answers on the defense, TBH. The secondary looks like it has potential to be fearsome but almost the entire front seven is very questionable. Not player by player but certainly as a unit. I definitely didn't see any moves this offseason that made me think they were better than the 2021 DL overhaul and that had very mixed results. So, it's going to boil down to how many of those questions end up having positive answers. I think it might be a lot to ask for that unit to make big improvements. But, modest improvements aren't nothing. Yeah. I sort of think the same thing. He's effective at certain aspects but I don't think he will ever be considered a great defensive coordinator in the NFL. It's easy to get enamored with his defenses when they are clicking but I think his style has some very critical flaws.

I mean, some of that list would still be top 10 teams with all their 2nd string playing. Alabama has definitely had years like that. Almost all the "bust" USC QB's were from an era when USC was unbelievably dominant in recruiting. All those guys had NFL caliber players around them almost every snap. So, that is probably why you see some of those players struggle at the next level. Everyone is good in the NFL. Worst versus 32nd is a pretty small gap. -

Stafford has better arm talent, IMO. Palmer is dramatically underappreciated for how good he was. I would take him 10 times out of 10 times over someone like Eli Manning. -

Don't necessarily agree. Alabama QB's get the same shade. I would argue that's because the talent disparity in college football is so insane. USC, Alabama and OSU routinely field All-Star casts of talent across the entire spectrum of the team that goes 2+ deep. That does make it a LOT easier to shine and look great. 90+% of the year you are just plain out talenting the other teams in front of you. -
Hence the assistant to an assistant. We think Fitterer might have more power but until that is official, he is technically an assistant GM to Rhule. Yeah, on paper this offseason seemed good but outside the OL signings, a lot of the guys everyone thought were good signings last offseason failed. Reddick was literally the only one that panned out. So, I will definitely withhold judgement. Especially since, on paper, our defensive line signings don't look nearly as impressive as last season.
-
We will see. I have yet to see a good Matt Rhule era FA signing aside from Reddick. Which, he only stuck around for a year, so how good was that really? Not sure I could throw any of this blame on Dan Morgan, though. He is an assistant to an assistant. He isn't making these calls.
