So, rather hilariously, while we still have a driver's seat position for a playoff spot and division title, we are still at #8 in the draft order(same spot as we started the day) and could even draft as high as #3 overall. So, either playoffs or a top 10(maybe even top 5) draft pick are both very, very possible. Maybe something is finally breaking our way.

Amazing moment…..and as always….respect to Rivera
kungfoodude replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
We all knew it was time to move on from Rivera and he just wasn't the guy to get us over the hump, but for those of you trying to act hard and trash this man personally, that says a lot more about you than anything. No one should be saying anything negative about Ron Rivera the person. Take a look at how his players largely look at him and that should be all you need to know.- 23 replies

I think Wilks has been told he has the job. (Speculation)

Attacking “glass half full” posters after a loss…
kungfoodude replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
Once Rhule got fired, I was satisfied with the season results. I would prefer to get a top 5 draft pick but not heavily invested enough to get upset about wins or losses. Just curious to see it all play out. I think people need a dose of that. There isn't a reason to get overly invested in the results at this point. Just ride the wave and let the offseason happen. Even if we end up with a top 3 pick, what if we hire a dumpster fire coach that would just fug it up anyway? Even if we ended up with the 20th pick, what if we hired a bang up head coach that will get us to the promised land even without a top pick QB? Just let it happen. -
Apple pulls out. So does Disney/ESPN
kungfoodude replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Amazon cares less about making a ton of money on the NFL subscription ans more about making Amazon a one stop shop. That is why they spend so much stupid money on their streaming service. Google hasn't made their streaming services either cheaper than the competition nor really better. And they seem to be extremely nefarious in comparison(Meta level or worse). -

Don't be surprised if it is pretty cheap on Amazon. -
I turned it to college because I thought it was over.

The NFL app is buggy but not as buggy as the streaming sites. Still, I definitely won't be renewing the NFL+. It sucks. May have a workaround available for more money than the NFL app but basically all the games. Might try it out soon and see how it works out. -

The questionable sites have been getting less and less reliable. It's very frustrating to be watching a game and repeatedly having to refresh or find another link. -

Yeah, YouTube will charge cable subscription prices. -
I am gonna set the over/under on these type of threads at 10.5. Are you taking the over or under before we actually hit the draft? We can start the clock with the last one created and this one doesn't count towards it.

How good is the Panthers offensive line?
kungfoodude replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well according to the resident Darnold worshipers, we have a trash LT that causes Sammy to not be elite. -

There are no logical scenarios where it makes sense to re-sign him. Maybe vet minimum 1 year deal as a backup but that is also a stretch with a new coordinator.

Frazier, Lewis and Quinn are all defensive guys. So, I guess the question would be are they actually better than Wilks? I understand the yo-yo reaction to hiring an experienced guy. I get that and don't disagree.
-
Too hard of a question to answer. We don't know who Wilks is close to nor do we know if Reich wants a role like that(or with us).
-
I don't think anyone should be a McAdoo fan. We simply have to improve that position, whether Wilks is the guy or not.

Yeah and supposedly Tepper was the driving force between Wilks hire in the first place. IF that is true, I suspect he might be pretty close to being the chosen guy anyway.

Mack Brown?
