There isn't a right or wrong answer there. If you get your elite franchise QB, the fact that you rob 2-3 years of assets becomes less relevant because now you may have a decade or more of time to be a contender just with the addition of that elite guy. You just have to make sure that is the case. If not.......it's gonna be rough.

So....basically Justin Fields has until next season to figure this out for any thought of the "Josh Allen turnaround." Otherwise......woof.

The difference is that Trubisky actually had NFL skills and Marquise had absolutely none. If you switched brains/hearts, that would be a good NFL player.

IIRC you are one of the people who persistently cannot see that Lamar is an elite QB. Not a running back. You can try and gyrate any which way you want but the results, statistics and the tape are saying something completely different. About the only shade you can throw at Lamar at the moment is that he is toting a pretty hefty "choker" tag when it comes to the playoffs.

I mean, I wouldn't have made that trade in their situation nor our situation. But it's leaps and bounds better than the Darnold trade. That was one of the worst trades we have ever made as a franchise. The cap hell is nonsense. They have a very adept front office at using the cap loopholes effectively, hence why for years we have been hearing about cap hell and they still are able to get players. Boy, Mitch Trubisky is proving without a question what a bust he is. He'll be in NFL backup purgatory after this season. It will be interesting to see how quickly they opt to switch to the rookie.

I am mistaken, I was thinking he won the MVP in 2020. I forgot we are on a back-to-back Rodgers streak. Yeah, I get what you are saying about that otherworldly level of play that sometimes Mahomes and Rodgers can display. You don't see it quite as often with guys like Allen or Cam. I still considering him a top 5 QB in the NFL, regardless.
