  1. They ran 15 times in the first half(22-17 ATL lead). They ran 8 times in the third quarter(28-20 ATL lead). They ran the ball 15 times in the 4th quarter(3 were Kirk kneel downs).
  2. Zero sacks....again. That's what a solid QB getting rid of the ball looks like.
  3. The funny thing is that this includes all the penalties the OL group ended up with. Imagine if they were a little less sloppy how it would have been.
  4. He would destroy in San Fran in that Shanahan scheme.
  5. Or yank him and put Sanders in for 3 plays?
  6. You are literally describing the best case scenario. I mean, we ALL hope that transpires but it's also very unlikely that it does. If so, it would be a historic draft for the franchise(in terms of total starters).
  7. Yeah but they ran the ball 38 times for 198 yds. That is what dedication to running the ball looks like. It's also what success running the ball looks like.
  8. I would sign Hubbard as a backup, I would sign him as a starter.....IF the price is reasonable. Brooks I basically view as a Sanders replacement at this point. If he is capable of elevating that role, fine, then you increase his usage. We are fairly close to not seeing him this year. What do we have left, two weeks?
  9. Except that in yesterday's game we were within 1 score in the 4th quarter. The only point we got the doors blown off was that quarter. Which, that probably looks a lot different if we are running it down their throats in the 2nd half. Diontae I would consider moving at above a 4th round pick. IF he isn't interested in staying here(or at a reasonable deal). Outside of that, you just make life very much more difficult for the entire rest of the offense. AT is likely to have substantially less value than is even worth trading him for. Why take away a useable cog in the offense for a 6th/7th rounder? What purpose would that serve? I am all for being sellers at the deadline but if all we are doing is making life a lot more difficult on our young players by ramping up the pressure on them and dramatically reducing their reps(a neverending stream of 3rd and outs will do that) then what end does that serve?
  10. You might want to look around the league. Very stiff competition in the cellar this season.
  11. What abundance do we have at WR???
  12. I disagree with almost all of this. Even at a reduced capacity on the OL, we were gashing them in the running game(5.18 ypc). Chuba is a very capable RB. He may not be Barkley but he isn't Miles Sanders, who is basically what you are describing.
  13. But we were within 8 points in the 4th quarter. That is a one possession game. This is my point, yesterday is a classic example of an opponent that could have been beaten by a rush heavy attack. Don't get me wrong, the parade of penalties and critical errors were impactful too but it was very winnable. That was a bad rushing defense we faced. Statistically one of the worst in the NFL. I get the situation like the Bears game. That's a better example of what you are talking about. It was out of hand so early that we were shot. Not to mention that is a very good defense against the run, which makes it challenging.
  14. I wouldn't put my eggs in the Brooks basket, sight unseen. But, we can't keep diving into the high investment in a RB well either. Ideally we keep Chuba around as our feature back on a reasonable deal. Horn has not earned an extension, to date. He's been a mixed bag this season and I wouldn't enter any contract discussions with him unless they are at a low figure. Johnson would be great to keep around but, again, at the correct price. That's if he has any desire to stick around.
  15. The "upside" is why I am down on Morgan. That was Fitterer 101. Upside, upside and more upside with a healthy helping of raw and undeveloped. Early returns from this class are a little mixed(2nd round pick is turning out very badly) but it's going to be 2025 and onward to know if he knows what he is doing or is Fit 2.0.
  16. I would go a step further and say I won't be upset about losing until 2027 if the FO and staff remains the same. What I want to see is vastly more competent roster building and talent evaluation. Also growth from Canales as a HC. If I see incremental gains over the next 2 offseasons and steadily improved results, I can live with that. It's a very, very, VERY massive hole we still have to dig out of to reach winning football.
  17. 100%. We are a very long ways from being a contending team and a substantial distance from being a winning team. People continue to underestimate how terrible this roster is(and was before the season even started). I have no idea how they keep their heads so firmly in the sand on this. It's perplexing. As you said, we have to even get to the point where we are competent enough to even draft well. I am extremely skeptical of that. We will see what happens.
  18. I mean, we can put a TE back there, another RB, or even another OL. There are ways to get this accomplished but we have to want to do it. The biggest issue I see is that Canales cares less about designing the most effective gameplan than largely running the scheme the way he wants it. That could be problematic going forward. It's not that we aren't a decent enough offense in some ways but we sometimes ignore our strengths for long stretches.
  19. Yeah but that is how you control the pace of the game, wear them down and break up their rhythm. Remember when Wilks did this? That should be what a lot of our gameplans against teams like Atlanta look like. They have bad run defense. Punish them for that. poo, Atlanta wants to pass too but they were smart enough to keep punishing our bad rush defense.
  20. Sanders I was down on too but I am losing sight of an important point, as well. He's a fourth round pick. He really shouldn't be expected to be much more than a backup player and his blocking appears to be much improved from his time at Texass. Brooks I really care very little about for this year. Chuba is doing very well so Brooks is not needed. If he is healthy, fine. If not, there is no rush.
  21. .....should be getting a minimum of _________ carries per game. I'll start: 20
  22. This is dumb. Our rookies need to be evaluated since we invested so heavily in offense. This is impossible starting Bryce. He should not see the field again this year barring injury. The focus should be on guys like Legette, Sanders, Coker, etc.
  23. I don't agree that we have to have one to develop. We don't ever develop those guys anyway, so what is the point of forcing that issue? Additionally, there are ample cast-off younger veteran QB's that are available every offseason if it's some strange requirement to have one(it isn't).
