Replacing him is very simple and very cheap. You can get dozens of guys every offseason that are capable of reproducing his results that are cheaper. Sure he passes the look test and his RAS was nasty. But that don't mean poo if you can't do it on Sunday's.
-
Yeah, he will get cut next offseason.
-
Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the move at the time and still am not a fan. You never know, maybe he pans out. If not, hopefully Fitterer will be smart enough to learn from it unlike Hurney.
-
It was basically a Hurney move. Fitterer hasn't established the Hurney track record so I can forgive him for whiffing(if he does) on a guy like Johnson. You just don't want to see that offseason after offseason like Hurney was known for.
-
Well he is a problem we will have this season but we don't have to have that same problem next season. Which, I have no idea, maybe he really does make that much of a difference in the locker room. If so....I mean....I guess it is what it is.
-
Well none of us are in the locker room so we can't know how true any of that is. But I know that in a 17 game schedule praying a 2nd string OT doesn't see the field isn't likely to work out. The truth is that he needs to be replaced next offseason.

Young finally understanding how bad Erving is. Welcome to the Panthers, buddy. We already seen plenty of that.
-
I gotcha. I didn't realize you were talking partial. That was why we split a full three ways(two seats). Schedules made it hard for anyone to make every game. Made more sense to chop it up among a group. Plus we got Club Level seating for a steal.
-
I am confused, we(I split a season ticket package with two other people) picked our seats back in April. I am a first time season ticket holder so does it normally work that way?
-
Yeah, this is the year that determines his Panthers future, IMO. He has the opportunity to push his way up the depth chart. If it doesn't happen, the Panthers chapter of his NFL career is likely over.
-
That is really not much of a concern. Those drones have use in the conflict that they are in now but much cheaper and much more capable drones are available publicly for something as simple as filming practices.
-
In fairness they will probably eventually have to stop doing these outdoors. It takes little to no effort to fly up a drone and record every practice in 4K detail without being noticed at all.
-
Doing the Lord's work brother. Hopefully the mods will start throwing out some temp bans for nonsense arguments polluting these. 90+% of us appreciate everything you are doing.

Lots of people getting trolled by one goof with a potato cam screenshot in a view with no depth perception and little resolution. Be better, Huddle. No more troll feeding. This dude is a super low tier poster already.

The cap is projected to skyrocket over the next few seasons with the new TV deal. I don't think the QB salaries will be much of a concern for a bit.
-
If we judge him by that price tag, he will need to be a truly elite pass rusher. All Pro/DMVP caliber guy. I also don't think that's particularly fair. He didn't turn down that trade our FO did. If he can settle into being a consistent top 10-12 pass rusher in the NFL, that's still exceptional value for where we actually drafted him.

I suspect most are gonna be surprised by how big the Burns contract is. I would be surprised if he isn't a top 3-5 paid DE. He definitively hasn't played that way but we basically showed our hand when the info about the Rams trade leaked. The fact that we turned down that haul means he is going to get basically whatever he asks for eventually. Our best hope is that he is a little bit nice to us but I won't blame him for demanding a top 3 DE contract.

It’s not going to be cheap to retain Derrick Big Baby Brown

TBH, early on he was much closer to average. His leap last year was exciting, though. -

Yeah, I like Brown but he should not be expecting a contract like that. If he does.....time to move on. -
Yeah, that situation should be cut and dry that you pick up the 5th year but if he misses a big chunk of time in 2023, I don't think it will be a slam dunk. Skill level is awesome but it's hard to develop and contribute if you spend more than half your career on the injury list.

Next Season's Goalies- Who Ya Got?
kungfoodude replied to Anybodyhome's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
I actually am not. We are setting ourselves up to be contenders for a long time. Continuing to have an excellent farm system is going to keep us an elite team. -
