My prediction in 3 years - Panthers return to their roots
kungfoodude replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I disagree. I predict he will be fired either after 2025(agree with the top 5ish pick take) or early in 2026. TBD if Morgan goes first or not. I don't believe we are out of our chaos era yet. -
Mike Kaye: Panthers might start Bryce Young final 7 games

This is literally just idle speculation. It is based on nothing. -
Are we now actively pulling for David Tepper to fail?
kungfoodude replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
And the NFL doesn't want him gone. His wealth helps increase the attraction and value of the product. -
Eh.....I might get petty enough that flushing a few grand to just be a ***** is worthwhile. I will look into it.
-
It's probably too late to transition to defense. Those projects take years and aren't worth tying up a roster spot for.
-
Eh....I mean....I am kind of scarred by recent trading down. I like the idea in theory.
-
If it's only a few grand, I might actually make some calls and do this.
-
I would keep him if he wants to stay and at the right price(not top 10 WR money). Say $15-20 milish I would trade him if we get an offer for a 3rd or more(assuming he doesn't want to stay or would be very expensive). Otherwise, just keep him this year and help the offensive overall be better. Let him help the younger WR's by just being on the team at all. IDGAF about a 4th round or lower pick for a player that helps us like he does.
-
That might work. Honestly, just the simple text and stats are really enough. Maybe a fake hashtag or a link to a goofy website.
-
Well there does actually have to be grounds for a lawsuit.
-
I would avoid anything that might catch a lawsuit. Even publicly available images of the stadium are out.
-
Nah. I would want it pretty direct towards Tepper. Maybe something like: "Tepper your expections, Panthers fans." Then a list of overall winning percentage during his era.
-
I rather doubt it, TBH. I suspect he isn't going to be a high priced FA. He wasn't sought after as a trade when Pittsburgh got him. I would expect him to be somewhere in the range of price that Dalton was. $5-7 mil.

https://www.bluelinemedia.com/billboard-advertising/charlotte-nc Apparently pretty cheap.
-
I guess the real question is to what end does this trade really make any sense? Just sign him as a FA.
-
I tend to agree but he is young enough in his career that he could become a Ryan Fitzpatrick type occasional starter.
-
But he can block very well and even catch a ball once in a blue moon.
-
Or how about something that leans into what he is pretty solid at, make him a FB/HB.
-
It hasn't happened often but it seems to happen at the most inopportune times.

Yeah, I mean I understand the attraction. I don't really particularly care what version of winning/success we choose. If we want it to be a high flying passing offense, a balanced attack or a smash mouth running attack. Or, even better, maybe just some good old fashioned changing it up based on the opponent you play. I just want to win again. That's what I really want. Even this year. I don't care about the #1 overall pick. We are still gonna end up in the top 5-10 regardless of how many of these winnable games we take. There shouldn't be an excuse for not grabbing 1-2 QUALITY starters with that kind of capital.

Show me an elite defensive coordinator that has had as bad of a unit as we do. If you watch our games and see our blitzes, it's blatantly obvious why we rarely see any success.
-
We aren't a terrible situation for Howell but I think his best bet for being successful long term is doing what he is now, riding the pine. If we want to being Dalton back for a couple of years and Howell can be had cheaply(4th round or lower) to sit behind him for that time, that's probably a path to success. Of the games I watched for Howell, he definitively showed he needed to be sitting and learning for a while.
