  1. The difference is that with a relatively small amount of moves, that can potentially be turned around. We have multiple offseasons needed to do the same.
  2. Pretty sure Canales still wants to be a HC beyond 2025, so I doubt Bryce is in his plans for the future. Or at least as a primary QB.
  3. I disagree. I predict he gets yanked for Dalton.
  4. If we wanted him to get a HC shot, I am not sure what setting him up with the worst defensive roster in the NFL is accomplishing.
  5. We aren't a good spot for a "reclamation" project because the distance to starting on a bad team is too short. Go somewhere with zero pressure and an established starter. That is how some of those projects turn around to being potentially solid career backup QB's.
  6. Someone hasn't looked at the cap hit related to such a move. Not for us, for the Jets. Rodgers will be a Jet until the end of the 2025 season, unless he retires. I am still hoping he retires and the un-retires to go to the Vikings to complete the Brett Favre reincarnation prophecy.
  7. Well that is what the thread is about. They aren't an elite tier talented team, I would agree. Upper half of the league, IMO. The QB struggles really have hamstrung their development as a team.
  8. They are starting from a far lower point on the talent scale than the Raiders, IMO. When I say the Raiders are "kind of close" it's not THAT close. That isn't likely to be bridged in one offseason and New England also isn't a free wheel spending team.
  9. Two quick wins and all of a sudden everyone forgets how awful this roster is.
  10. Honestly, there is a significant gulf in talent between us and Cleveland. The only team close to us in that realm is New England. The Raiders aren't that much more talented than us, but they are also one of the top 3 most projected cap space teams this coming offseason, so their odds of being able to improve are higher. A lot would depend on QB but the same could be said about us.
  11. I knew before I opened it this was about Thomas. Has either likely played his last down as a Panther, or will get one last mega contract extension here before his retirement.
  12. They are INSANELY more talented than us. There is not even an argument to be made in that regard. Maye is very talented but also TO prone(basically what he is doing now) and it's led them to a 2-4 record versus Jacoby Brissett's 1-4 record. If anything that shows how little difference he can make because of the insanely talentless roster.
  13. I don't think it's about that. Also, I don't think they make the playoffs this year. The bulk of their problems this year have been injuries. That isn't likely to be a continual thing. They still have the most talented roster in the NFL and do a very good job with draft talent evaluations almost every year. Until that stops, they will largely remaining a contending team. Now, there will be a point that they have to make difficult choices(they already have) on the roster much like the Saints did. And if they play the kick the can game too much at some point in the future the bill will have to be paid. But, even with all that, the Saints are still a far more talented team than the Panthers at the moment. It would take a long time for that to happen in SF.
  14. Well one is potentially a QB, the other has basically proved in 4 years that he is Taysom Hill.
  15. Same poo we threw at New Orleans for years. The 49ers have top tier talent evaluation abilities, that will push them along for a while.
  16. Also, people aren't factoring in Dan Snyder 2.0, either. That drops us down multiple pegs.
  17. 100%. People are not doing a talent by talent comparison. The only team close is probably the Patriots. They are insanely talent deficient.
  18. I would disagree. That is an insanely talent filled roster.
  19. IDK about that narrative. If you want the coach to fight for his job, why saddle him with a QB he doesn't presumably want? I am doubtful that this has much to do with ownership.
  20. Either that or Lock is much worse than we think. I suspect we are gonna get to see both play, so we will find out.
  21. Sam Darnold will never sniff $40 mil, I can promise you that. Daniel Jones will likely not see $15 mil next season either.
  22. I have no idea where in the world you are getting your salary numbers from by those guys are by QB salary rankings as follows: Rodgers: 17th Prescott: 1st Jones: 16th Deshaun Watson: 11th Carr: 18th Goff: 6th Mayfield: 19th Darnold(keep in mind he is on a BACKUP QB salary): 22nd "Mega" deals is eye of the beholder but from 1-19 they are all above $33 mil AAV. The Mahomes deal(the original mega deal) is 13th.
