I am consistently amused and perplexed by the portion of the fanbase that seems to believe that a "worst in franchise history" roster has a quick solution. Even many years into this mess, it's going to take time to remedy.

Them just making everything more expensive and re-creating cable is just going to drive people away. They fail to realize this in an atmosphere where the demographics are massively against them.

I will say that we all basically knew the roster was extremely thin(has been for years). Inevitably, offseason injuries were bound to happen. It just kind of is what it is. Some guys we need to evaluate for next offseason will get some burn and hopefully we will make another small step forward with the roster for 2026.

Well this is not a positive development for the team in the slightest. We just got a lot thinner at a very thin position.

I am curious to see if Warren is the elite player that the Huddle Warren stans believe. I am always fairly wary of these first round TE's.

People drastically overestimate our TE's because Sanders had some good flashes and there is some Ian Thomas hype for Tremble still. The truth is that Tremble is an NFL JAG and Sanders is a very talented and very unproven player. I suppose the new drafted kid could make an impact but I am not sure I would put a lot of eggs in that basket.

I generally anticipate a bottom 10 and perhaps bottom 5 team. I am thinking that a chunk of that can be tempered by the realization of how incredibly bad the overall roster is. If we hit a couple of FA signings and a couple of draft picks, it's a step in the right direction. At this point, that's my personal bar. Just make the overall roster progress be forward rather than backward. It's at least a starting point that someone will eventually be able to do something with. We definitely can't stay in this perpetual backslide.

I mean, I think you will really struggle to find many prognosticators that don't have us in the bottom 5. Part of it is that we do have a bottom 5 overall roster(still true) and part of it is that we have more question marks than most rosters. Finally, we have consistently been a bottom 10 team for close to a decade now. Nothing is really a safer offseason projection that putting us there.

Well they do preface it by saying "there is some projection here." He is saying he believes WR will be the strength. I definitely disagree and think it will again be the OL and likely RB's but I wouldn't be so quick to say "doesn't watch the team" as much as maybe has a rosier view of the WR corps. Or maybe just doesn't have as high of an opinion of the OL as we do. It's an interesting take, to be sure. There are several here that have voiced that "WR corps is a strength" view.

Part of it is him, part of it is him being on the Titans. We would be in the same boat but ESPN loves Alabama stars.

I don't think he is very likely to be traded pre-season and even less likely to be at a reasonable price.

I mean, even their own propoganda videos showed how much he was involved for years. Not to mention the umpteen articles mentioning it from "sources." The narrative, which is likely somewhat true at the bare minimum, didn't pop up out of thin air. Snyder had that rep. Turns out.....100% accurate.

TBH, these are the kind of players that get weeded out of professional sports pretty quickly. Also, CMC is not that guy. There is zero indication that he isn't competitive.

I like the free agency. It actually helps basically all schools across the board. Pretty much only ancient HC's and/or HC's that haven't been able to adjust have been complaining about the free agency. Your fortunes can be made or broken every offseason. It's not like before where a bad recruiting class or two meant multiyear purgatory. I will never understand all the bellyaching about the NIL. If you want to talk about what ruined college athletics, it has been naked greed. Conference expansions for TV revenue, ever skyrocketing AD and facilities costs and now the attempts to permanently ruin the postseasons(football and basketball). All the kids did was get a very well deserved piece of a very, very, VERY broken pie.

College was 1,000,000x worse than HS. I can personally attest to this. Especially pre-NIL. Holy poo was it a sewer. Most of the AAU corruption came directly from colleges/coaches/alum or shoe companies through nefarious channels.

It's rather absurd that the rookie contracts aren't fully guaranteed for at least the top 3 rounds.

Or Goff or Purdy or Dak or.....it's the era of doing this. You just gotta hope you aren't one.

Yeah, it's a tough spot to be in. There are no sure answers. You can suck wind and end up with Bryce or Sam Darnold. But sometimes you get Josh Allen or Joe Burrow. Or you can just keep trying to win and end up drafting Kenny Pickett or Dwayne Haskins. But, you could also get Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson. Ultimately, I think you can't really "plan" for trying to get an elite QB or force it. Frankly, that is part of why we are in the spot we are in at the moment. You just do what you can to build a winner and hope your structure and evaluations end up with the QB that can either be truly elite or be the outlier that pushes you across the ultimate goal line of raising that trophy.

Yeah, it's a tough spot. Not too many teams in the last 30 years have won without an elite QB. It's a tough hill to climb but QB purgatory is worse.

Yeah, this was something that was bound to happen. The importance of having an elite QB will never go away entirely but these things go in waves.
