That's an easy thing to say in the preseason but literally a year after taking a WR in the 1st, we had to do it again. Nothing is guaranteed.
-
It's not a bad thing. We need quality backups. I just think the people reaching to see him as a long term starter are drinking from the same fountain as those that kept saying BC was a starting caliber *insert any OL position.* They just aren't. Doesn't mean they aren't very valuable and it doesn't mean they can't play competently.
-
Well, that is why I said watch this season.
-
If you are literally going to be intentionally obtuse, I can't fix that, bub.
-
I am very doubtful he would get that.
-
I think the Huddle dramatically overvalues AT in any trade scenario. He has high value here because we lacked any consistent, reliable options. Also he had great chemistry with Bryce. He isn't going to be a good fit for a lot of teams/schemes/rosters.
-
Yeah, I mean, point taken. I just view that as being the QB of the OL. It's also the worst possible spot to be very weak, as it's the most direct path to the QB. The money does say otherwise but I would say that isn't necessarily the complete story.
-
I would say Renfrow may be on shakier ground than most simply due to health. If that hadn't been the case, I have no doubt he would be a lock.
-
I think the only way he makes the team is if Renfrow is just too banged up to keep around.
-
Well he was the only consistently effective WR that Bryce had chemistry with. It just kind of was what it was. I suspect he will prove to still be the #1 target, although I would love for some of our higher potential guys like Tmac, Coker, etc to start stealing those targets. AT is near the end. No sense in investing a ton of targets for a guy that has a very short career window left.
-
He also has the most downside.
-
I am not down on Icky, I just need to see him make that Derrick Brown leap to being a top 10-12 LT. He is really an average LT overall. I would disagree on center being unimportant. I would argue it is the second most important OL position. It's a good unit, to be sure. Best we have had in a long time. We just need to keep improving it.
-
I think he will be way above that 5/6. I believe you are dramatically undervaluing him.
-
Brother, Coker is ahead of XL and likely Renfrow due to injuries. One could certainly make a strong argument he has been far better than TMac so far. I think you are undervaluing him. Watch this season. And watch that Jags crush of your continue to prove to be a very flawed off ball LB.
-
The trade up into the 1st still infuriates me. Height of fuging hubris.
-
Well, Franklin is a JAG at best. I think we ultimately need to aim higher than that for a long term solution. But, roster holes were to be expected. Let's hope one of the younger guys steps up and wins that job.
-
Even without this TC/offseason, Coker proved that last year too. He is simply the far better prepared NFL player. I get the ceiling difference, I think we all do. But if you can't reach that ceiling, what was it worth?
-
Plus the huge influx of RB's in this past draft. It clearly bumped a lot of older vets to being unsigned.
-
Well then go dig through it and post the rankings for starters, bub. You can't post the data, then start crying when people use it the way it is posted.
-
I think XL gets the nod to "save face." Not sure that the season is going to be able to hide the fact that Coker appears far more prepared for the NFL currently than XL.

No, I meant surfing rosters/depth charts for 2025 currently. I didn't take the full data but it seemed pretty heavily weighted towards 25 and under.
-
Then post the starters and prove that to be incorrect. It's your dataset.
-
I didn't post those screenshots. You did.
-
One thing that stood out was how young a lot of the RB ranks were.
-
Plus, Corbett....won the job. What sense would it make to start Mays in that scenario? He isn't a first round draft pick from 2024/2025. He's on a 1 year deal and is a career backup.
