Yeah, I mean if Manning flops that is a pretty rough list, IMO.

Panthers sign Rams NT Bobby Brown III
kungfoodude replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's probably about right for the player. He is a fairly one dimensional run stuffer/lane clogger. But, that's also what we really were in sore need of on that DL. I like the signing and I like the price. -
We will see. I generally disagree. Especially with Manning. I mean....the dude was a two year backup for a 4th or 5th round QB.
-
Supposedly Bosa is going to end up in SF. Interesting that Holland and Ward are still on the board. Greenlaw is probably a wave two or three guy because of that injury.
-
No doubt. I just mean this was the time to strike in terms of first contract value, which will be worth considerably more than NIL money. But, if you notice, they were not rated ahead of guys like Sanders and Ward in most of the early big boards prior to returning. I don't think they are(rightfully so, IMO) true first round talents.

That's a decent signing. Good run defender. This makes a lot of sense. Hope it's not something ignorant, as he is an above average player overall.
-
I mean, probably not very well but I wish them all the worst, in general.
-
I really don't think much of Nico and Allar and Nussmeier could have come out this season and opted to not do so. And that is in a VERY weak QB class. I know other guys are likely to pop up at some point but, on paper, 2026 really looks to be a pretty weak QB class early on.
-
Being wild spenders in free agency rarely leads to sustained success. The draft is always the best place to build long term success.
-
I don't know that I agree that it is a QB heavy draft class in 2026. A chunk of the "upper end" projected guys are players that could have gone pro this year in a very, very weak class and opted not to. If Manning proves to be a flameout, it might look pretty similar to the current 2025 class in terms of strength.
-
Definitely. I think he would have struggled to match the expectations here based on the salary.
-
It isn't an upgrade on anything other than depth. I don't think this is a guy they signed with thoughts of him being a starter. If it is, we are royally fuged.
-
I mean....I definitely don't see that at all. I certainly hope you are right.
-
Early signings are almost always bigger deals. Nothing unusual. I would have been happy to have him but $26 mil is just not a price I would have been happy about.
-
I mean....players are not going to be beating down the doors to play here, either. Keep that in mind. I have zero doubt that quite a few players we had interest in were not interested in us at all.
-
The answer to improved depth, maybe. This is not anywhere near a top 40 DE/EDGE in the NFL.
-
True.
-
Lol. No. This is a depth signing. He is a backup.
-
I wish maybe we had focused on a bit more affordable option than Williams. I think maybe we really put all our eggs in that basket.
-
Well, they are unlikely to land anywhere near as good a LT with those draft picks. It does make some sense even outside a "win now" perspective.
-
I suspect incentive laden and nothing near $10 mil/yr. He's a backup caliber player.
-
Looks like we might have shifted gears to 2nd and 3rd tier guys. That's actually fine. We need so much quality depth, it makes a ton of sense.
-
Rotational guy. It's a weak group, so it isn't nothing.
-
He might be a star in that Pete Carroll system.
