I am not sure that is inaccurate. There have been anecdotal stories of people being found dead at home in Italy. Is it widespread? Probably not. Has it happened? For sure.

I donated semen. Does that help?

Everytime someone shows up with cardboard, I hold them down and rub their faces in it to show them.

For sure, it's going to be a very stressful and exhausting time, most likely. That's a fair criticism. I am just trying to alleviate the panic mode because it's not helpful. Numbers and statistics make me calmer because I can see them and relate them.

Actually, I do know a few(3-4). I will ask them what their opinion on the situation is. And if they were anxious, I really would say that because I would hope that would ease their mind pretty considerably.

Well of the slightly less than 3400 cases of Chinese healthcare workers, 13 died of complications with the virus. That would be 0.4%.

Well we are #17 on the "Most Obese Country of 2019" list, so I think the evidence speaks for itself...... Side note: Surprising how many fatties there are in the Middle East.

Fun fact I was looking at, since the start of the COVID19 outbreak(Dec 2019) roughly 12,000 deaths worldwide have been recorded. By even the most conservative estimates, over 1.5 million people have died of starvation worldwide since Dec. 2019.

100% agree. Pretty good odds you would just end up with mild symptoms at that age anyway.

If I didn't have to travel for the next 4-6 weeks for work, I would totally do one of those studies to get it. fug it. I think it's valuable to get tested just for peace of mind if nothing else. I know so many people with mild symptoms or nagging sickness that are worried to death about it, which all that stress makes their immune system weaker anyway. If we had ample amounts of tests, I don't blame anyone for wanting to get tested if they are ill and need the peace of mind.
-
Could be sickness and then allergies piling on. Being sick that long is abnormal. May as well go attempt to get tested just to know. It will at least allow you to be on higher alert if things turn on you.

Me too, brother. The poo sucks.

Not surprised. Italy is going to continue to get smoked. The population is so incredibly old.

Shave your head.

Yeah, I have heard similar. No BS, I do agree about the inciting a panic stuff. I never thought I would be on that side of the opinion but the way people are freaking out, the less they know about the spread, the better.

I believe in times like these, Moose Hoover may be our best hope.

I'd be curious to know if they are doing many tests for the virus. I keep hearing people saying they aren't. I'd like to know if that is true. Or, what basis are they doing the testing on?
-
I am weirdly in agreement with some of the government's position on the numbers. I do think we should be testing more people because that data is valuable but I do not think that the general public should get that information at all. They have already panicked at an extreme level and it is just going to make that issue worse.

As usual, offering no actual input or useful information. I am pretty sure most have figured out what you are at this point. I see lots of posters with articles, even personal anecdotes and yet you just offer snide commentary and shrill, panicky speculation packaged as factual information. Like I said....good luck with that.

Yeah, I am also going to just ignore that article and click on the source material. In a crisis, the media is not going to be able to transmit accurate information. They just haven't developed that way. And I mean that outside the typical propaganda spewers(Fox News, MSNBC, Russia Today, etc). I am not against utilizing traditional media except in a crisis. They typically drop the ball on accurate, complete and non-reactionary reporting when they get spun up.

Wouldn't be the first time the FDA has kept safe and effective drugs/medical products that other first world countries have proven to be effective away from the US.
-
I did dismiss it and just clicked on the source info.

I think the Japanese have had some success with a drug, can't recall details. Sounds like there might end up being multiple drugs that prove to be effective at treating the seriously ill patients.
