  1. I don't think he wants to be here. I am not even sure he would be happy on a West Coast team. I think he just hasn't realized that he is over football.
  2. The media/fan pressure will be extreme after trading all that for him. Should be an interesting circus to watch from afar.
  3. I wouldn't think the NFLPA would have allowed that. I won't be upset if we can do that. I would certainly like to have less dead cap next season than $18.6 mil or not have to scramble to trade him. You have any of those articles handy? I haven't actually seen any mentioning that option specifically.
  4. Well, that was already a Super Bowl participant team without Lance. You have to look at it this way, if they viewed Lance as "the guy" then they made the move they thought they had to. Doesn't mean that they may jump in with two feet right away. Even Mahomes(who was a guy they traded up for) wasn't in the immediate plans for KC. Lance is acknowledged to be a project too. No reason to rush him if he needs more time.
  5. I would be curious to see how they manage that. My understanding was that the rookie deals are basically scaled and there isn't much tinkering allowed.
  6. It's probably an inevitability that this happens. Let's hope it doesn't happen until Belichick retires. Who knows how he will find a way to cheat that system.
  7. Since we picked up the 5th year for Darnold, he would still carry a very substantial dead cap hit next year($18.6 mil) when we move on from him. I suspect he will be easier to trade than Bridgewater was, however. I am genuinely stunned we got anything at all for him. Fitterer looks like a genius based on that trade alone.
  8. I would think it will likely be ATL and us battling it out for last in the division while Tampa easily beats NO for first. It's a process. We'll ascend to the top eventually.
  9. I suspect if/when Darnold fails it will matter how our overall record is. If he fails but we are around .500, perhaps we still don't reach and build the rest of the roster. If he fails spectacularly, I think you might see a little desperation creep into getting a QB in the draft or in free agency. They seem a lot more comfortable dumpster diving in free agency or through trades than taking guys in the draft.
  10. Yeah, he was stout against us last night too. Concerning since he was a 0-2-0 5.00 GAA guy.
  11. This team had given us fits all year long. I was surprised to see us crush them last night. Time to circle the wagons if you want that #1 overall seed.
  12. He is a bust. Please stop pining over these guys, Huddle. Some of this poo is just blatantly obvious.
  13. Yeah, I will take draft failure if I can have that kind of success. Pats are another "used to be successful" draft team. Give me the Seahawks results all day long. fug the draft.
  14. Well, we had some pretty massive fails as far as "draft value" over the course of the draft, as well. I don't think anyone can say with certainty what our plan is that isn't in the organization.
  15. @Zod @rayzor @LinvilleGorge Pin this poo to the top. The legend is back.
  16. The thing is, they clearly value QB by being involved with Stafford and Watson. I have to think they just had a very narrow grade on QB's in the draft.
  17. Hopefully we continue to destroy Chicago. I want to exorcise those demons headed into the playoffs.
  18. That isn't encouraging to have that dufus KOD'ing our new QB.
  19. Yeah, that is what concerns me so much. The history of these reclamation projects at QB is not exactly stellar. I will say that if Horn and the hodgepodge of relatively who Dat OL additions(draft and FA) work out, that will lessen the blow of Darnold continuing to be a bust quite a bit. Although I am certainly a proponent of getting a franchise QB whenever the opportunity presents itself, it wouldn't be awful to have the luxury of pulling a move like San Francisco or the Rams and just buying a new QB after the team is largely in place.
  20. Well, they bought low on both accounts. We will see if that ends up being the right strategy.
  21. I have been optimistic enough in my lifetime as a Panthers fan. I am just adopting a wait and see approach. If it works out, awesome. Finally. If it doesn't.....well....Panthers tradition will remain.
  22. Yeah but you can insert Marty Hurney and Dave Gettleman into that logic and end up in nothing but tears. We all hope that Rhule and Fitterer know what they are doing but we absolutely do not know that. TBD
  23. I mean, it doesn't even look like he is really........Tryon. I'll see myself out.
