  1. I think it's the other way around. He tried to get a bigger contract and did. This wouldn't make any sense for the Rams until after 2026 based on the contract.
  2. I don't know that he is or isn't better than what we have. What I do know is that for many years now he was a PS player that anyone in the NFL could have taken.
  3. Well it would probably cost you maybe league minimum + very little to obtain him in the offseason. I am gonna guess, unless he gets money thrown his way, he is probably going to stick there in Cincy. We have most of the rest of the season to see what he is.
  4. Jesus....hard bargain, I see. 2 1sts, a 2nd and Horn.
  5. I mean, he would be insanely cheap. I would caution betting the farm on a 29 year old career PS guy.
  6. I really don't think he will develop into a starter, if I am being honest.
  7. At somewhere near his current salary, sure. I don't think he is going to have any desire to come here unless all 31 other teams pass, however.
  8. Stafford is dinged up constantly. Why on earth would he want to come to the worst franchise in the NFL? He is going to end his career with the Rams.
  9. Eh....on paper that is a big upgrade but time isn't being super kind to Wilson. Not nearly as elusive as he once was. Not sure a 38 year old Russell is much more than another 1 year rental. Now, pair him with a good, young drafted QB....I am in. Let the vet take a seasons worth of bullets while we keep building.
  10. Ya'll are something else. Stop dumpster diving for QB's.
  11. We seem slightly more prone as a franchise than most to the sunk cost fallacy. If you realize your mistake, pivot ASAP and recoup what assets you can. Holding onto these guys for dear life in the hopes they will eventually pan out is tying up valuable resources spent developing better assets(hopefully).
  12. Yeah, Darnold I still believe will be a career backup and he is trending that direction. I was a Baker fan before he came here and never really bought the line about him being washed. Nor do I buy the line about him being some big turnaround. He is performing the best of his career but it isn't insanely better than with Cleveland. He was always a good NFL QB. I think it's more his progression/experience as an NFL player that is leading to the improvements. But you see why I harp so much on evaluation failures. This is the most critical flaw in our attempts to build anything cohesive here. You gotta be able to identify actual NFL caliber talent.
  13. Name a guy we have drafted since 2018 that has had greater success elsewhere than they had here? I can tell you after looking, there aren't any. Hence why I keep saying this is an evaluation issue.
  14. That's not what Bryce was pitched to be. Nor was the, what, 4th or 5th Tepper rebuild iteration? That's the problem with all this. You trade all this draft capital up to get these guys(Bryce, XL, etc) and then when they get their opportunities they can't hack it. As I have said many times, I view this as less of a development issue as I do an evaluation issue. We just suck at identifying talent correctly. It fails us all too often. If it was solely development, so many of these guys that left here after being failed draft picks would be studs. That is literally almost never the case.
  15. Maybe had he been drafted where he was supposed to, 2nd/3rd round by a team that didn't have immediate and critical needs at his position then it would have been different. I generally tend to not believe that but at least he could have developed where he needs to, buried on a depth chart and with no pressure to perform.
  16. You are correct. I forgot that Glenn hired him when he went up there.
  17. INB4 Milroe is ineffective Alabama QB #4 in a row. The curse of Jalen Hurts continues.
  18. Tua might be Bryce's ceiling at this point.
  19. Or despite the fact that Wilks is no longer even in the NFL coaching at all? Wilks seemed good in comparison to what we had at the time. That was a devastatingly low bar to clear.
  20. https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1968764235833282870 Awesome! He dealt with these issues at SC too so if we just wait it out until the 2028 season, we are good to go!
  21. It's a waste of a pick, TBH. I suppose given how poorly we draft, there is certainly an argument for doing so. Both Howell and Winston would be very capable hands to land us a #1 overall pick.
  22. I don't really think that is going to be the case here, especially given track record and results. It would be nice, since Morgan is a Panther. I just don't see any indication of that.
