  1. I mean....Bryce has to be a 4.8 40 at best. His mobility is pretty limited FOR a guy of his size, TBH. Russell and Kyler were 4.5-4.6 guys. I also question his field reading abilities. I don't think you accidentally end up with a 60% career completion percentage with an extremely low YPA average. Bryce ain't completely the problem but he is far from NOT being the issue either.
  2. I liked Sanders field reading abilities in general but his ceiling is fairly low and his shenanigans as a pro are, quite frankly, bizarre. I don't think he is doing himself any favors by being a distraction while also being buried on the depth chart. Don't get me wrong, the media would attempt to make him a distraction regardless but it's not smart to feed into it when you aren't having a role at all. This can also be said of XL, BTW. We are no stranger to this. It's a lot easier to excuse Cam dressing like a deleted scene Harry Potter character at press conferences when he is looking like a man among boys on the football field.
  3. I don't think with a roster this bad we should be spamming picks at subpar QB's for development purposes. When the roster is a little more fleshed out, I would fully support that. Also, with our persistent evaluation problems, I can only imagine who we would have likely overdrafted in the past few years.
  4. Technically this is true. Fitterer was fired on Jan. 8th, Dan was hired on Jan. 22 and Dave was hired on Jan. 24. Dan was the guy for the entire interview process during that cycle, more than likely.
  5. This was a very weak QB draft and there were players available that could help us immediately given the extreme lack of quality players on the roster at the time(and now). I mean, don't get me wrong, we mostly managed to avoid those players that could help us immediately.
  6. New QB??? Brother, Cam is just hitting his prime, IMO. I am willing to bet you he wins a league MVP in the next 3 seasons.
  7. I am not sure Tepper will ever cede that.
  8. Yeah, you are looking way ahead. That's pee wee football.
  9. I don't think it is that different than some of our previous player related drama. The real accelerant to this is the franchise record losing seasons streak. That and just people generally being progressively crazier online.
  10. No, no, no. You do that AFTER hiring a head coach. You know, the way all successful franchises do!
  11. IIRC, this was a podcast I tried out as a recommendation and within like 2 episodes the amount of inaccurate Stephen A Smith/Skip Bayless stupid statements was a torrent.
  12. It's something Nate just created, so I am sure he will tweak it over time but.....replacement level does seem very accurate.
  13. My theory is that his passion is really doing the social media thing and not being an NFL player. Which, that's perfectly fine but you wouldn't be a social media draw if it weren't for the association with football.
  14. In less of those cases than it appears. If incompetence takes root in the management structure, it quickly will overwhelm the hiring processes. Idiots multiply like rabbits and corporations are the ultimate cowards with next to zero ability to take the trash out. Poor performance is so very rarely a reason to lose your job in corporate America.
  15. I am gonna be honest, at XL's extreme best moments for us so far, he has looked decent. That is a problem already. It hasn't taken Coker(a UDFA, mind you) or TMac to need a competent QB to show plenty of flashes. Hell, Tremayne has looked markedly better than XL. Same dumpster fire QB. There is no excuse to be giving next to no effort and mailing it in like XL has been this season. And that's after a season marked by drops and boneheaded plays. The truth is, he isn't an NFL player. Even a little bit. It's up to him if he ever wants to attempt it, but he hasn't so far.
  16. I think he limps into year 3 with a Matt Rhule short leash. Basically if it looks like the start to 2024 and 2025, he is canned prior to the halfway point.
  17. The amount of people in the corporate world that you meet and want to directly ask, "How the fug did you get this job?" is staggering.
  18. TBH, I would lean more heavily to Jon Gruden for the specific reason that he would be the most likely to have the experience and track record to push back on ownership. To be clear, I don't think he would be super successful here but this franchise needs to start with someone that actually has an NFL track record of success and can show others in the organization what it looks like to prepare that way. If we can at least attempt to model ourselves after an NFL franchise even at all, that would be a valid starting point to any sort of turnaround.
  19. This is ignoring the parade of bust WR's the Panthers have had over the past 20 years. If you can point out the examples of these WR's going elsewhere and getting better than before here, by all means, please show them to us. More likely than not, you are going to see more Philly Brown's, Brenton Bersin's and the like that never had any appreciable NFL career post-Panthers. Hence why I continually point out our issues is far less the development than the evaluation of players.
  20. The people talking about how good XL will look in some other offense or with some other QB, just remember this is the same horseshit we have heard for Mingo, TMJ, Funchess, Colbert, etc, etc, etc. Just realize you are gonna seem just as foolish as all these other times when this guy is a resounding bust.
  21. Yeah and I think for both the loudest saber rattlers were casual or non-NFL fans. Especially Kaepernick. The people who hated him the most didn't watch a lick of NFL football. At least hate him for the valid reasons of him being a mediocre QB on his absolute best day. Panthers fans have a whole different reason to have hated him, when he mocked Cam.
  22. The Golden Calf of Bristol's. Those guys were completely nuts
  23. That's just being wantonly myopic in the approach. I don't care as much about measurables or RAS or whatever as I do actual football abilities. If the athletic profile is excellent, even better. Mind you, the players need to be physically capable of playing the game. Rudy wasn't an NFL movie.
