Deshaun Watson has lawsuit filed against him by Tony Buzbee
kungfoodude replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
I had a drunk theory I pitched to some friends many moons ago that people that file false police reports or bring up false allegations that result in criminal charges should face the exact same penalty as the accused. I also thought this should apply to prosecutors and cops. It would never work but it would be the fairest of all systems. -
Shhh....you are gonna draw out @SizzleBuzz to explain how watching that show made him understand how Tepper is wired and tell us about his spanking/baptism into the Appaloosa Management cult.

I would be more inclined to believe this if it wasn't some nutcase lawyer claiming this. Likely just an ambulance chaser trying to score. -
June Jones jumps on the Mac Jones train

The improvements are likely to be fairly minimal. Almost all of that physical development will have already happened. -

That kind of proves my point. It is something you have already built at the point you are a professional. -

No, it's because that is somewhat fixed at the point of making it to the NFL. Having a strong arm isn't a product of simply "bulking up." It's a combination of a lot of factors(throwing motion, muscle strength, core strength, mechanics, leg strength, flexibility, throwing motion, etc, etc.). It's not just one thing. It isn't that you cannot get stronger but there is a certain point where you are going to max out your physical abilities and for the most part almost all the NFL guys are at or near the maximum of their arm strength abilities because that is something they have been working on and perfecting for YEARS. The bulk of a professional QB's time and energy is spent getting game edges. Film study, knowing the offense, knowing the defenses, etc. For younger guys you can certainly make improvements on basics(throwing motion, footwork, etc). Even some of the older guys continually perfect or work on that as they advance their careers. -
I don't think we plan on using a FB much under this offense. It sucks because he was good as a FB but we don't use a FB much.

There are very few examples of wild spending in free agency paying off. The most obvious one was Tampa last season but that is definitely abnormal.

Eh, average or below average is debatable. I have certainly seen a few label his arm strength as below average. By below average, I don't think anyone is saying he has "bad" arm strength. Simply less than the average NFL QB. Arm strength is something that doesn't really seem to go up after a certain point, although you can improve it. It's a lot easier to improve accuracy because that is typically a mechanical issue rather than a natural ability. He has good anticipation and touch on his deep throws but he definitely isn't out there throwing lasers. -
Report: we missed out on CB Shaquill Griffin

I don't know that getting outbid for a player is losing out. I'd rather we don't get wild on the spending for free agents. -

Due dilligence. -
Zero chance I would want to retain him at that price.

There is always injuries during camp. Perhaps we get lucky in the draft, get a guy, he is "ahead of schedule" to be the starter and we can move Teddy to another team. Quite a few long shots need to align for that, but we can always hope.
-
Yeah, we will only ever know if it actually happens. I would be shocked if anyone would want him at that salary. It's extremely high for a backup QB and I am not seeing many teams desperate enough to want him as a starter at the moment.
-
I'll take either.
-
Dalton is an exceptional backup. Seems ideal for the 49ers. Perhaps he gets scooped by the Bears and then the 49ers really want Bridgewater. That would be pretty sweet.
-
That would be extremely interesting. I'd prefer to see him not start so I don't have to openly root against him. My love for Cam is completely outdone by my hatred for all things New England.
-
I think he may have lost his mind after Brady won. We'll see if he can pull a Kobe/Shaq thing and both win one. I sincerely hope neither of those cheating fug heads ever even sniffs a title again.
-
I am pretty happy to NOT be doing what the Pats are doing. The crazy money they are spending is highly unlikely to pay off.
-
I sincerely hope they are a disaster. It would be epic to see that franchise collapse. I doubt they will, although they may still draft one to prepare for the future. Clearly they are not all-in on Cam.
