62% seems low but he is a gunslinger. It's unlikely he will ever be a Teddy/Brees/ rady-like completion percentage guy. Even in this offense. 60-63% for a true gunslinger is actually not too bad.

Can this guy really be "THE GUY" for the Aints

Disappointed they didn't roll with Taysom The Golden Calf of Bristol. That was a surefire sweep. Winston I am much less confident about. If he can cut down on his TO's.....he might be rough to face. I would hate to see them go straight into another era of good to great QB play. Then the media will be blowing Sean Payton even more. -
Yeah, but why in the world would anyone make that trade? Bill O'Brien is gone. The only one I can think that might be that dumb is Urban Meyer.
-
Why would be trade the best player in one of our weakest positions? I don't think we are going to make any player trades that are for much other than picks. Or, the players we would trade certainly wouldn't garner much in return.

That is a Jets fan that came over with Darnold. He isn't here for the team.
-
I gotta be honest, not even sure that probably makes the top 20 worst things Eagles fans have done.
-
I have my doubts we make any more deals. Fitt loves to trade but trading picks for bottom of the roster churn over and over doesn't really seem like it will net much for this cycle. But, the dude did get draft picks for literally nobodies, so maybe he can pull another miracle.
-
I mean....it might not be a stretch to say they could be an upgrade.
-
Nah. We are deep enough to run the 4 TE sets we have planned.
-
I don't know that I would expect to see a blockbuster deal for anyone. So, if that is the case, it will be interesting to see what deal(s) we end up accomplishing. Do we want to give up much more 2022 draft capital?
-
We seem to have stripped down our biggest need positions, so I have to assume SOMETHING is being worked. If not.....I guess maybe we just aren't seeing the plan.

While I see the potential for Brown and Chinn to be superstars, I am not even going to say that is a sure thing yet. I believe it has a high probability. I agree on the optimism, as well. I just don't agree with some of these proclamations of greatness and "best in the NFL" without the actual playing time to bear that out. As Panthers fans, you would think that we should understand about managing expectations.

3500 yards passing 23 TD's 13 INT 63% Completion percentage Based on a 14 game schedule. Misses three games with injury.
-
I think the fans are getting a little carried away with our drafting "success." There is a lot to be excited about but you are also talking about two draft classes that have played a combined 16 game schedule. We probably need to slow our roll on that level of hype. That's a hindsight observation, not a foresight observation.

4th youngest team in the league as of cutdown day

Yep. We got sold a long rebuild and it is likely to be that. Still a long way to go. -
Panthers waiver claims and practice squad signings

You sure about that now? -

Smitty would show his ass as much or more than Cam and his intent was rarely to have fun, it was basically a "fug you" to the opponent. I say that as a guy that considers Smitty to be thr best Panther of all time.

It's worth the read. Trust me, do it.

That is a description that could be applied to many head coaches, successful and not. Being a great offensive or defensive mind does not always translate into success as an NFL head coach.
-
This is also something that hasn't happened. We don't know if we have mightily increased the bottom of the roster talent....yet. This is all theory. We are talking about "better overall career" at the point where one guy has never coached an NFL game and the other has coached 16. That's why I am personally leaning on history rather than what I may think of the coaches themselves. Seems like a safer bet to make a waaaaaaaaaay too early prediction.
-
No, he never had the kind of success those guys did. Predominantly because he wasn't a coach very long, even in college and went from one program to the next. Remember, his college winning percentage was only 0.522. That's because he built and then bolted. It could easily be argued that is a more valuable trait than going to a college power and succeeding but not all those coaches who came in had a stacked deck at every place they were successful in college. IMO, college success isn't a great predictor of NFL success(to be clear: I have NOT vetted this statement statistically) because the reasons for success in college football don't translate to the NFL. Same sport, but vast differences. It's like comparing NASCAR success to NHRA success. Both racing but completely different kinds.
