No, I mean even that comparison this far in is kind of insulting to LaFell. He was just a better overall player at this point in their careers. The thing thaf is concerning is that he appears to not be struggling with a 1st or 2nd round WR typical issues, he seems to be struggling with an undrafted free agent or practice squad player level issues. How to even become an NFL caliber player and how to raise your play to the level to be on an NFL roster. It's the simplest stuff that he isn't seemingly capable of doing.

We are bottom 2 or 3 in the NFL in TE production. Luckily, they have Justin Fields as their QB. He is one of the few starting QB's in the NFL worse than Bryce. Now if Tyrod gets subbed in, we might be in trouble.

TBH, the UNC leadership might be more incompetent than the Panthers at the moment. Bill Belichick is the poor man's Matt Rhule of college coaches. Even Rhule wasn't as delusional as Belichick.

And people talked about Beck as a first rounder??

Hey You, You Don't Know Quarterbacking

It's not good. -
I don't think anything of Justin Fields as a QB but we will need to handle him. We get little pressure on the QB and get torched by TE's and running QB's.

Bryce's Achilles Heel Is Not What You Think It Is

McCarthy to date, for sure. That's a very early sample size, however. Russell Wilson is a backup. Not sure Wilson wouldn't be better suited to our offense specifically, but at the bare minimum it's basically a wash. Hurts I would generally disagree with. I do think Hurts is likely to be less than stellar in our offense. Justin Fields - Agree. Fields is a significant threat on the ground but he sees the field as badly or worse than Bryce. And that's with significantly more reps. Spencer Rattler - I honestly thought this would be an easier call that it is. TBH, right now Rattler looks a lot better. Really almost across the board. Kyler - Murray is better. Basically across the board. Not significantly better, mind you. Trevor Lawrence is more debatable than it seems. Low completion percentages, tons of TO's.....he really has been quite bad this year in Jax. He is considerably more talented than Bryce but the results have been marginally better. Tua - Tua is a little more dynamic of a player but he is a TO machine. Tend to agree. Caleb Williams. Not sure on this. Williams is still struggling to be consistent but his upper end is WAY higher than Bryce. He shows it fairlu frequently, as well. Probably would rather be working through Caleb's issues than Bryce. Penix - 100%. This guy stinks. Cam Ward. This is a little tough. Again, far higher ceiling on Ward and he shows flashes but it's been a mess there in Tenn. Probably lean towards Bryce here. -

He has rarely been aggressive enough to be considered a gunslinger type player. The guy he is describing is Pat Mahomes-esque and I doubt any of us see that in Bryce. When the play is breaking down or he bails on the play, how often are we really seeing him laser it into a tight window? How about scramble long enough to get someone breaking free and then hitting them? I remember that far less, although I am not sitting down to look at all 2.5 years of data, than I am checkdowns, throw aways, off target passes, scrambles, etc. -
I think Egbuka is a very polished guy, for sure. TMac has some refinement that needs to happen. His ceiling is probably higher than Egbuka's but for that to matter you have to eventually reach it. I definitely don't have buyers remorse on TMac. Great pick.

He would be ahead of a good chunk of the backup QB's we see struggling at the moment but starter vs. starter it is really hard to get too many guys that you wouldn't rather have the other guy in a one game scenario. I can understand the ample reasons to not want guys like Flacco and Rodgers at their ages but if you just base it on this roster and one game to win....I would rather have both of those guys. Expand that to the rest of the league and it quickly becomes obvious where Bryce is. -
Bryce's Achilles Heel Is Not What You Think It Is

Yeah, AT was really the only guy making those plays. In fairness, I don't think Bryce is throwing that many 50/50 balls, either. Per NFL Next Gen, he has been in the bottom quarter, top quarter and middle of the pack in his three years in terms of Aggressiveness%(defined as throwing with a defender within 1 yard of the receiver). Bryce is a chunk of the problem, without question, but his receivers haven't been making elite plays, for sure. XL has been completely absent and TMac has dropped some very catchable balls. Even Renfrow has not been snagging almost any of those 50/50 balls. I will say that other QB's(young and old) have struggled with the same issues but few are struggling as mightily as Bryce seems to be. -

Eh....I mean by just about every metric you can muster up he is in the bottom quarter of the NFL since coming into the league. It's been bad overall. Definitely some high points but the low points have been too frequent. -

His situational awareness just seem to randomly flip off for reasons unknown. That has definitely plagued his career to date. I am less worried about this physical abilities than I am his consistent issues with his throwing base and his decision making issues. Both of those seem correctable on the surface but that progress has been very slow. He is a guy I thought of as a heady, intelligent QB so to see him struggle with some relatively fundamental things is perplexing. -
How about draft elite guards? Even then when you have to eventually pay them, you got 4 years of dirt cheap play to balance out that later cap hit.

It is funny to be professing we all know nothing but then tout ones time at a place that literally has him ranked in the bottom quarter of starting QB's. It's wild. -

Yeah, I don't want to keep dragging this nonsensical racial element into it but most of the league's biggest QB stars are black QB's. This isn't the 80's/90's or even 2000's. The bulk of NFL fans TODAY just want a MFer who is good at their job and can play at a high level. Now college football.....that poo still has a LOT of what he was talking about. Especially in SEC land. Heard it personally even in recent times. -
Jax has a platoon of very capable pass rushers and Dallas does not. I think that played the biggest role in that difference you saw in Niman. Make no mistake, he will get carved up by top end pass rushers. But, someone has to start so give him some help the best way you can and roll on.

His happy feet are reminiscent of David Carr. -
So XL shouldn't have expectations but McConkey didn't seem to struggle with that. How is TMac doing versus expectations? How about Ricky Pearsall? Keon Coleman? Xavier Worthy? How about there are 15 rookies from the 2025 draft that have out produced XL in 2025? How do you explain a year under his belt getting less production that 15 fuging rookie WR's. But, no....tell us about how we just need to be patient. Because that really worked out well for Mingo and TMJ, after all.
