  1. Had Jake played for those same Houston teams, his winning percentage would have been abysmal too. Even the best QB can only elevate a franchise so far.
  2. Those are fan sites though. Fan sites are always going to lean towards hyping our guys. Little was a pretty polarizing prospect.
  3. I don't think that is an easy answer and it depends on what you want as a fan and team. I think Teddy is far more likely to be a steady player, albeit unspectacular. I think Darnold is much more likely to have terrible games and much more likely to have great games. So, if you have a team that can win games without a QB(like the SB champion Broncos or Ravens), Teddy is probably your guy. If you have a team built like ours, Darnold is more likely to have some more success because we have the horses to really put points up for the few times Darnold is just on fire. If I was going to say who would perform better in 2021? Statistically Darnold should be better because he has no actual competition to face. Teddy will be in a race with Lock. If I had to bet, Teddy will have w better QBR and QB rating than Darnold but Sam should be better in almost every other stat(other than completion percentage and TD:INT ratio).
  4. If he can max out his potential, sure. No question it is a good trade. Consistent winning should be the metric for success. It is something no Panthers team has ever achieved.
  5. I don't have any faith in Darnold but I am not sure I think Fields will be an instant superstar either. We will see in a few months.
  6. Agreed. It is a much easier transition for a pass threat TE than an elite CB prospect. I would expect Pitts to be a much better player in year one than Horn. I expect that will have flipped by Year 3.
  7. I think they have a more cohesive strategy, even if we don't necessarily see it. That wasn't evident under Hurney.
  8. Well, if Fields is a superstar and Darnold is still a very good QB, I think that becomes a situation where we might be a little envious but as long as we are successful, it doesn't matter much. The nightmare scenario is that Darnold remains Darnold and Fields looks like one of the leagues budding stars. In that case, we will be very much regretting passing on Fields, regardless of how good Horn is likely to be.
  9. That is a fantastic article. Definitely makes me feel better about Fitterer.
  10. The NFL will remain reticent to offer that kind of product for fear of having a dip in both TV deal value and ad revenue. I do think it is sort of inevitable that it happens.
  11. People don't read anymore, they just react, bitch and moan. It's a product of a larger problem with society. They see a headline, get outraged and start spouting whatever preconceived bias they have about the subject without even opening the articles or attempting to understand it. We have been reduced to being a society of perpetual outrage. It's extremely annoying. Critical thinking is almost extinct.
  12. 90% of the people that bitch about PFF will still use it when it suits their argument. I have always liked PFF and I think they overall do a decent job. As someone pointed out earlier, they just lack a lot of self awareness about how their rankings can sometimes net some extremely goofy results. They need to put more effort into continually improving it. Also, as a former subscriber.....their fuging interfaces are absolutely awful. Not nearly as user friendly as you would expect from a paid service.
  13. If you don't allow streaming in the modern era, you will lose advertising revenue and subscribers. The days of the majority of people having cable or satellite TV are coming to an end.
  14. Satellite is so trash. Being in any sports bar with it is frustrating as the signal gets lost when you have more than two clouds in the sky.
  15. How in four games did we go from a fanbase excited about our team, it's present and future to being a bunch of entitled complainers that want to tear this all to the ground?? I don't know about you guys but I don't want to see the Canes be the Panthers and go back into the cellar with dysfunctional management and overmatched coaches. Rod is fine. The dude is 120-66-20 to start his career here with three straight playoff appearances. And this is a CRAZY young team. Maybe stay the fuging course and keep making the necessary tweaks to build this into a championship squad. Do you guys see the Caps or Bruins or even Lightning tearing their squads down and firing their coaches? No. And they all choked hard before they won their recent titles. It happens. We will learn from it and just get better.
  16. You guys are clearly forgetting the pre-Rod era.
  17. Okay, PJ. It isn't my fault you aren't the guy. The USFL is starting up so you will be fine.
  18. PJ is not an NFL caliber player.
  19. Agreed. That is a lot of free money to help us improve. Ned is clearly the future and Dougie is awesome but was just never the same player after that leg injury.
  20. Agreed. We will circle circle wagons in the next game and lose in Tampa. It was a great season and it is a shame to see it all be for naught. Glad we are a young team, though. It will be interesting to see how we look next year without some guys(Mrazek, Dougie, etc).
  21. Agreed. I was very concerned about Teddy's contract but the way they saw that go down makes me a lot less anxious about Darnold. We don't have to worry about him being a long term bad investment.
