  1. You are thinking of the combine. He was 363 at the combine. He was reportedly well north of that weight during the offseason/preseason this year.
  2. I have become a "wait and see" guy and try to temper the expectations. It's been almost three decades and most of it pretty disappointing. It's just easier to start out expecting little and be pleasantly surprised when it all works out. I gotta be honest, prior to the playoffs in 2015, most of that season didn't even feel real. It was like a dream I kept waiting to wake up from. Then when we got to the playoffs, I was all in. I knew we were a top team. By the Super Bowl, I had absolutely no doubt at all we were the superior team. Then.....well.....you know the rest. So, it's pretty easy as a Panthers fan to temper the expectations.
  3. He showed up really out of shape and was getting roasted in their camp anyway. I think with or without him, Burns was gonna feast. Definitely hope he recovers well, though. I liked him as a prospect and those brain injuries are not a joke. The puking thing is really concerning.
  4. The modern NFL diminishes the ability of a RB to have great impact on winning games, even if they are the best in the NFL. Having to account for CMC basically opens up the rest of the offense though. You have to account for him on every play especially as a dual threat back. Definitely was not a fan of the contract we signed him to but with the cap projected to skyrocket with the new TV deal, it probably ends up being a decent deal for us in the end. We just need to keep him healthy. That's the only real concern.
  5. Joey, you aren't getting it done. Maybe you can take this failure and turn into success with your next team. Or maybe Joey's mom/dad/sibling. Definitely has to be related to be defending him at this point.
  6. I'd probably rather shuttle kicker after kicker through to find "the guy" rather than keep a guy we absolutely know cannot get it done and will directly be responsible for multiple losses.
  7. It won't impact him as much given the youth of the team but if he is around long enough to bring in a bunch of veteran players, it could have an impact. I don't think that will annoy people that much if we are winning, after all consider how many players talk about how miserable being a Patriot under Belichick is. If we can't sustain winning seasons, it may eventually wear on veteran players.
  8. Yep. We still don't know whether our getting gashed in the run will change from last year. That's something to keep an eye on because it could nullify a lot of the gains we may have made in the secondary if we can't get improvement in that area.
  9. All you have to do is look at that OL and that tells the story. And we are a very young team. That isn't the way most veteran players want to go out. It's nice to think about but probably a 0.0001% probability. Not to mention, why do we want to have a $35-45 mil/year short term QB soaking up cap while we are trying to build a roster?
  10. I mean.....$42 mil is a lot to work with. Not to mention we will likely cut some fat next year, as well. I don't expect you will see us spend wildly in free agency for a bit. Doesn't make much sense now or next year.
  11. I think we have seen more than enough of Slye to know he isn't the guy. He doesn't really have the yips. He has been the same guy from college to the NFL, with fairly little variation. Basically a career 70-80% FG kicker. That isn't likely to cut it long term.
  12. Lol. Nah, man. Not only does he probably want nothing to do with moving to the East Coast but our team is not in win now mode. He'd be far, far better off staying in Green Bay for the remainder of his career. We aren't going to be attractive to that kind of QB at that stage in their career until we can build a team and have some prolonged success.
  13. It would be nice for it to be weighted towards guaranteed money in 2022 and a lesser signing bonus. That would make the 2023 season very easy to jettison without a big dead cap hit. It's just nice to have that flexibility.
  14. Maybe I missed it but do we have the singing bonus amount yet and how the guaranteed money breaks down?
  15. Laettner?? Duke has plenty of model players that you could pick from but Christian leaned more infamous than famous.
  16. I don't want to break the bank going after OL free agents anyway. That's a quick way to get into cap hell, especially with so many on the roster coming up for second deals in the next 2-3 seasons. I am fine going hard at an elite LT, because they are so hard to obtain but we need to try and build from the draft and maybe plug a few better stop gap options in the interior of the line over the next 2-3 seasons. Like you, I want to see the young guys get a chance. If we can get just one solid starter from that lot, it would be something to start from. We all know Paradis, Erving, Elflein and Miller are not likely to be here in 3 seasons.
  17. Not sure if I believe that, considering how much trouble he has had beating anyone in the NFL preseason so far.
  18. That poo had me laughing. Best video we have had here in the last few weeks.
  19. That one just annoyed me a lot because it was invented completely out of thin air and spread like wildfire here, despite not a single shred of any INKLING of a rumor being attached to it.
