  1. We all see the OL, these are not likely to be ideal conditions from Week 1 through Week 17. That said, I am not on this "HE MUST PLAY IN THE PRESEASON" bandwagon either. I just think the idea of "ideal conditions" is something that isn't real in 2021. Whether he takes the field today or not until Game 1, he's gonna get heat and we will see who he is. If the plan is to protect his health or his psyche, that stuff is going to get exposed no matter what. If his is likely to break in Week 2 of the preseason, it isn't going to be any less likely to break in Week 1 of the regular season. He is who he is at this point.
  2. You are basically a player surfer fan. To your credit, you did stick around when your dude left. We won't ever see the Darnold fans again.
  3. Look, Darnold may suck hard here but he will at least be an NFL QB unlike Taysom Hill.
  4. We have a lot of those in here. Jets fans, Lions fans, etc.
  5. No Robby and no DJ and we probably don't see Darnold either, per Rhule's semi-vague comments. I'd probably rather see our first team offense preview than a battle for the 4th through 7th WR spots with PJ and Will Grier.
  6. Hopefully Hill wins, so we can see an 8/25 season.
  7. Taysom Hill: 11 completions in 15 attempts with one interception in full team drills / 112 for 171 with two touchdowns and six interceptions in camp as a whole Jameis Winston: 7 completions in 12 attempts in full team drills / 130 for 198 with six touchdown and four interceptions in camp as a whole https://www.nola.com/sports/saints/article_7954467c-0130-11ec-ba00-3fddb075fa46.html
  8. I want the sweep and against Payton golden boy, Taysom The Golden Calf of Bristol.
  9. Disagree. The board reaction will undoubtedly be far, far, FAR more entertaining than the game.
  10. I'll throw my hat in this ring and give predictions a shot. Game 1(vs. Jets): Game 2(vs. Saints): Game 3(@ Texans): Game 4(@ Cowboys): Game 5(vs. Eagles): Game 6(vs. Vikings): Game 7(@ Giants): Game 8(@ Falcons): Game 9(vs. Patriots): Game 10(@ Cardinals): Game 11(vs. WTF): Game 12(@ Dolphins): Game 13(vs. Falcons): Game 14(@ Bills): Game 15(vs. Bucs): Game 16(@ Saints): Game 17(@ Bucs): Final Record: ?:?
  11. Winning against the Pats, Dolphins and Vikings while losing against the Cowboys had me scratching my head. I know Dak is back but so is Mike McCarthy.
  12. If you aren't playing CMC for durability reasons, there isn't much reason to play Darnold. The staff seems to be pretty dead set on "ideal conditions" for Darnold to get preseason burn. Not having your MVP caliber RB playing is not very ideal.
  13. Here is one for a prediction.....do we see any of Robby and/or DJ?
  14. I think they have a lot more injury issues than we do, so I would suspect we may see less of their starters than even we play.
  15. He was durable until last year. I wouldn't want him to get any unnecessary pounding in the preseason if he doesn't have to but we also can't treat him like Mr. Glass. He's a RB, so he will take a beating sooner or later. At this point, if he is going to be perpetually banged up, there is really nothing we can do about that. 2020 gave me a huge amount of concern about his "mileage." I desperately hope that he stays healthy all of 2021 and 2020 just proves to be an outlier.
  16. I do agree about Moton and ideally keeping him where he is most comfortable. The "glass half full" comment is a bit concerning.
  17. I hope they know something we don't because I would have already benched him now and made the switch. He can't stay healthy anyway, so depth is his best shot at available the longest.
  18. If Darnold fails, I will be curious to see if the FO/staff continues to believe that dumpster diving is the path to finding a QB.
  19. I think this is basically our very best case scenario for this season. So, I can't come down that road to assuming we will max out our potential in year two of the rebuild. It's possible but unlikely. I think this season will hinge on a few things. How bad Darnold is(or good, perhaps), how much our secondary improves, how much our overall defense improves, how bad our offensive line is, and how well we avoid the injury bug(so far doing an excellent job). Perhaps the most interesting thing to see is if we make the improvement to being a slightly below average to average team. If so, that means Rhule's turnaround pattern from college would be present. That could mean a big leap in 2022.
  20. The implosion will be over him not playing, I predict.
  21. That's an awful idea/theory. In what world would our roster be appealing to a 38 year old QB in 2022? The Bucs and Broncos had experienced and established talent. We are at the beginning of building our success, not at the point of being ready made for a "win now" QB. Fields fits what we are as a franchise much more than Rodgers. My guess is that Rodgers will end up on a CA based team in the next two years or he will simply retire.
  22. If their injury woes keep getting worse, it's possible. It's not a bet I would personally make, especially being in the same division as the Jags and Texans.
  23. It isn't at all ridiculous. Not only are they more deep and more talented but much more importantly, far more experienced. 2-5 years behind them isn't hard to believe at all.
