  1. 100%. This is basically 1000+ yard production pay. As long as he continues to do that, it will be a very fair deal.
  2. None of that was true nor was the "Robby doesn't want to be here" conspiracy theory. It was based on absolutely zero documented, factual information nor even any real rumor mill information. It was based purely on idiots on the internet pulling things out of there ass. That was why I got annoyed by that stupid poo. It was based on nothing.
  3. The cap is going up. That isn't going to be that much money for a WR that produces what Robby has for us.
  4. Can we please get a roll call of all the dopes spreading the "Robby doesn't want to be here" conspiracy theories? You know who you are.
  5. He's probably on the worst coached team in the NFL, so I would disagree.
  6. Pretty sure if you look at Drew Brees playoff history, he might be the one that is cursed.
  7. Actually even more reason to not bring him in. The one position you can rarely ever afford an injury is a kicker. Almost everyone just carries one kicker and one punter. You just can't be an injury prone kicker.
  8. The first one was the worst because it was right there....we were so close. The second one just made me angry at everything. It was the worst team we had played all postseason, our coaching staff didn't make any adjustments, and we were so clearly getting fuged by the refs. I wasn't depressed at all about that one, I was furious.
  9. As Mr.. Scot pointed out we brought in three kickers this offseason to try out, so I don't think he was being protected that well. The team talked at some point this offseason about bringing in a sports psychologist to work with him. That was what clearly didn't work. I was done with him early on but I can't see why anyone inside or outside the team isn't over Slye at this point. As I stated earlier, kickers will be cut and be available, if we roll with Slye this season all his shanks will be 100% Matt Rhule's fault.
  10. I will point out that his career high school long was 46 and his career college long was 50. He actually has a long history of not being able to make those 50+ yard kicks, despite all his leg. Similarly, he was a career 72.4% FG kicker in four years at VT. He is, quite literally, the kind of kicker that goes undrafted, gets a few tryouts and then never plays a single NFL game that we see every single offseason. For some reason we opted to keep him. I'll make this easy prediction, he won't last in the NFL long after we jettison him. He is the kicking version of Brenton Bersin.
  11. He's had that "case" his entire college and NFL career. I don't think it's a temporary ailment, he's always been that way.
  12. Correct. We will see if we missed out on an opportunity to improve. I think Gantt's article was telling in that the staff thinks he is better than the fans and media.....and statistics. But, Rhule also pointed that position out as one needing work, so perhaps they are learning. That is my one big hope with the Rhule era, they do seem to be decisive when they realize they have made mistakes and quickly attempt to correct them.
  13. Or Burns. No reason to let arguably our franchises most valuable player get dinged up prior to week 1.
  14. Those aren't cracks in the dam. Just poor decisions. Taking a long snapper in the draft is a pretty poor decision given the depth issues elsewhere and having one of the most reliable long snappers in the NFL already on your team. It's a 6th round pick, so the impact is pretty minimal but it was 100% a stupid decision. Especially since by all reports Jansen has clearly got the job locked down.
  15. The kicker we brought in, Matt Ammendola, is now the starting Jets kicker, FWIW. Currently 3/3 in FG's and XP's in the preseason. Long of 54.
  16. If that happens this season, zero missed kicks will be Joey Slye's fault. 100% of the missed kicks will be Matt Rhule's fault.
  17. We should be bringing in every single kicker that gets cut.
  18. But at least he might have made the active roster. Edit: We'd have a starter versus a guy that won't make the active roster. Currently Smith has played more preseason reps than injury prone signings Cameron Erving and Denzel Perryman combined.
  19. Lance will likely see mostly the bench this season. I think the 49ers have a longer term view of him. If the Bears were smart they would do the same with Fields. Both of those guys have veteran QB's already of them that give them the luxury of sitting. Lawrence and Wilson are fuged. It just is what it is. Better learn quick, rookies.
  20. It was definitely a group effort. I don't think we are constructed at the moment to win many of those goal line or short yardage battles by going hat on a hat. For all our criticism last season of Brady getting cute in the red zone, I think those reps showed why we are likely doing that, because we have to. Perhaps some years from now we can construct an offensive line(and TE corps) that will win more of those than they lose.
  21. I didn't see the ranking of the rookies, was that another article?
  22. All jokes aside, Charlton is really a big boost to our special teams.
  23. Considering the history of RB's and those records, hard pass. Typically they get injured the next season after those record breaking years due to the extreme usage to get them.
