  1. It won't impact him as much given the youth of the team but if he is around long enough to bring in a bunch of veteran players, it could have an impact. I don't think that will annoy people that much if we are winning, after all consider how many players talk about how miserable being a Patriot under Belichick is. If we can't sustain winning seasons, it may eventually wear on veteran players.
  2. Yep. We still don't know whether our getting gashed in the run will change from last year. That's something to keep an eye on because it could nullify a lot of the gains we may have made in the secondary if we can't get improvement in that area.
  3. All you have to do is look at that OL and that tells the story. And we are a very young team. That isn't the way most veteran players want to go out. It's nice to think about but probably a 0.0001% probability. Not to mention, why do we want to have a $35-45 mil/year short term QB soaking up cap while we are trying to build a roster?
  4. I mean.....$42 mil is a lot to work with. Not to mention we will likely cut some fat next year, as well. I don't expect you will see us spend wildly in free agency for a bit. Doesn't make much sense now or next year.
  5. I think we have seen more than enough of Slye to know he isn't the guy. He doesn't really have the yips. He has been the same guy from college to the NFL, with fairly little variation. Basically a career 70-80% FG kicker. That isn't likely to cut it long term.
  6. Lol. Nah, man. Not only does he probably want nothing to do with moving to the East Coast but our team is not in win now mode. He'd be far, far better off staying in Green Bay for the remainder of his career. We aren't going to be attractive to that kind of QB at that stage in their career until we can build a team and have some prolonged success.
  7. It would be nice for it to be weighted towards guaranteed money in 2022 and a lesser signing bonus. That would make the 2023 season very easy to jettison without a big dead cap hit. It's just nice to have that flexibility.
  8. Maybe I missed it but do we have the singing bonus amount yet and how the guaranteed money breaks down?
  9. Laettner?? Duke has plenty of model players that you could pick from but Christian leaned more infamous than famous.
  10. I don't want to break the bank going after OL free agents anyway. That's a quick way to get into cap hell, especially with so many on the roster coming up for second deals in the next 2-3 seasons. I am fine going hard at an elite LT, because they are so hard to obtain but we need to try and build from the draft and maybe plug a few better stop gap options in the interior of the line over the next 2-3 seasons. Like you, I want to see the young guys get a chance. If we can get just one solid starter from that lot, it would be something to start from. We all know Paradis, Erving, Elflein and Miller are not likely to be here in 3 seasons.
  11. Not sure if I believe that, considering how much trouble he has had beating anyone in the NFL preseason so far.
  12. That poo had me laughing. Best video we have had here in the last few weeks.
  13. That one just annoyed me a lot because it was invented completely out of thin air and spread like wildfire here, despite not a single shred of any INKLING of a rumor being attached to it.
  14. Agreed. If those things transpire, this will look bad in hindsight. Right now, I have no issues with it. In a bubble, it's a pretty good deal.
  15. We aren't likely to address the offensive line with big offseason signings. If you haven't noticed, we dumpster drive and draft. If that doesn't work......it just kind of is what it is. 100% disagree with that strategy but that certainly seems to be the case.
  16. Yeah and if TMJ doesn't work out, we regroup and keep Robby or draft someone else. So much flexibility with this deal. Also, can likely jettison Robby in the last year of his deal with relatively little impact if we decide to move on.
  17. Just wait....it will get lower in the next two weeks. Hopefully rattling off a couple of wins will turn it around a few percentage points.
  18. Yes, because you can't show a single bit of evidence. This along with the fact that he showed up for most of the offseason and just inked an extension. How dumb can you actually be?
  19. However, he didn't hold out. He has basically shown up for the bulk of the entire offseason. That is also "not good business" since you can also get injured just as easily during that period. That's why it made absolutely no sense when people were spinning this yarn about him being a malcontent. That was never true.
  20. Thanks for checking in, you were definitely one of the dopes I was referring to. How about this, Mr. "Read Between the Lines", show me one shred of actual evidence that was ever the case?
