  1. Listen, I don't know what is triggering you specifically but it's probably not something I am saying, it's something you believe I am saying. Also, I think your opinion of Curtis is much higher than is warranted. He's never really proven to be much more than a 2nd or 3rd WR on a team. You can't utilize him as a primary target any more than Ted Ginn could be. They are complimentary weapons to an offense, not guys that can carry that load. Primarily because they are typically extremely inconsistent players. Curtis Samuel is a great example of that. His production has been all over the map his entire career(some of that is injuries, obviously). Robby has been much more consistent, albeit generally pretty underwhelming. Also, Curtis has very little of the RAC ability that Deebo does. In fact of the three WR's, Curtis has the lowest YAC/R of any of them. That was actually something he was rather criticized for here, if you recall. And don't use that "only 25 years old" argument. That is shades of Darnold apologists.
  2. I mean, I guess if you mean yelling at Sam Darnold, I guess so. Or complaining about the fans booing. But if you really cared, you wouldn't be pondering retirement because you have to go back to work. If there is any more clear indication of someone that either hates their job(which is possible given the level of dysfunction in our franchise) or doesn't love the sport anymore.
  3. It happens to a lot of players. Some of them just aren't as passionate about football as they are other interests. It's not a slur, it's just that plenty of professional athletes happen to be very good at what they do but they might not be passionate about what they do. If you look at guys like Cam, TD, Luke, Steve Smith, etc.....those guys are driven to be the best. They work constantly to excel and get better because that's just in them. But there are way more players that aren't driven like that. We've had plenty of those. Those guys aren't rare in the NFL. It doesn't mean they are necessarily wrong any more than your co-worker who is just a mediocre employee is wrong. It's just a job to them. They aren't driven to be the best at what they do. For Robby, I don't get that impression that he strives to excel at what he does. This is just a means to an end. Look at someone like Horn, who is constantly training with other elite DB's and picking their brains. Constantly working to get better and improve. That guy is very likely to be successful(barring any major injury issues) because he's driven to do so.
  4. You know, I never knew someone would put "worst coach in franchise history" so far out of reach.
  5. I mean....do you blame us? How many times do has that happened to us versus other teams? We have ample cases of paying the wrong players these contracts. It's a Panthers tradition.
  6. I am starting to question how much he wants to be a good player versus just being a guy that cashes a check. Seems like mostly the latter. Not rare but not a guy I would have invested the money that we did in him.
  7. First, calm down Curtis, I am not insulting you. Chill out for a minute. As far as superior WR....eh.....that's definitely debatable. Samuel is a much more versatile weapon but he's even more inconsistent than Robby over the span of his career. Also, his most successful season(by a wide margin) was when he was used more like Deebo Samuel than anything like a traditional WR. He's not the same player and when we tried to use him like Robby Anderson, he was extremely unsuccessful. Robby has been far better being a traditional WR/deep threat versus a gadget player like Samuel. Hence why I said they could easily co-exist in the same offense. Their ideal usage is entirely different.
  8. I don't know what to think. He was a guy I thought was gonna be an immediate impact player in 2021. But, right now Samuel is a far better player(until proven otherwise).
  9. He's pretty much better than any player not named DJ Moore or Robby Anderson. None of the rest of those players would compare at all.
  10. Classic example of someone being on social media too much. Either that or Robby is a low key troll.
  11. If he does retire, just remember that this is a "Rhule guy."
  12. Memes aside, he's an idiot. He isn't retiring after signing that deal he just did. Not until he gets the bulk of that money secured.
  13. In theory he should be far better than TMJ. Not sure he fits what we are doing now on offense, however. TBD.
  14. I mean.....you saw the money he got right? I'd say it was pretty smart.
  15. It's also a comparison of a #2 WR versus a slot/multi-use guy. There is no chance could bring in Samuel to replace Robby because Samuel is literally not a #1 or #2 WR. He's nothing like that. Frankly, they could very easily co-exist on the same offense.
  16. That's not accurate. Take a look at Samuel's 2020 season versus Robby's 2021 season. Curtis Samuel Robby Anderson So, as you can see, Samuel performed better in almost all categories. Catch percentage(massive disparity), YDs/Catch, Drop %, YAC/R, etc. This on less targets, as well. And SIGNIFICANTLY less playing time. Robby was on the field for 85% of all offensive snaps, whereas Samuel was only on the field for 68% of snaps. So for Samuel to outproduce him as much as he did from being a slot receiver/multi-use player, that's pretty bad. However, this isn't a very fair comparison at it's core, because we are comparing a player's literal best season in his career versus a player's literal worst season in his career.
  17. Spending wildly in free agency isn't how you build a team, it's how you elevate a built team to the next level. Even with the cap being smoke and mirrors, the backbone of your franchise needs to be a pool of cheap and elite talent that you draft initially. That gives you a few years to build a franchise on the backs of much cheaper labor. Once you start handing out those second contracts to your guys(which we already have), you need to be winning and contending before you start going for broke on mass free agent signings. That is how you attract top players that want to win. Success as a team brings that. The Panthers aren't in that position. We are regarded as one of the most dysfunctional franchises in the NFL and we haven't had a winning record in 4 seasons. Why would any quality free agent want to come here(and they haven't)? So, without that we are left paying vastly over market value just to attract those players(which won't work on all of them). That's also historically how bad teams stay bad for a long time. We are basically where we should be. Building through the draft to a winning team. Once that core is built and winning starts(not under Rhule, quite obviously), then you start to make those splash free agency signings. When we are an attractive spot to make a Super Bowl run.
  18. It literally wouldn't matter. He stinks when he has time to throw and he stinks when he doesn't. At this point believing in Sam Darnold is like believing in Santa Claus.
  19. Good point. We throw shade about the contracts but Suleiman is technically the guy hammering those out. We've even seen videos of him doing it on previous Panthers Confidential episodes.
  20. I mean, even if we started 4-0, I'm not falling for that poo again. Call me at Game 17. I want to see a full season for the first time in years.
  21. Yeah, I am not putting my eggs in the Rhule getting canned basket anymore. Tepper might be dumb enough to keep him anyway. I would just rather have a season of something I am mildly interested in.
  22. I don't have any fear of Baker messing up Corral. I don't think Matt is going to be made or broken by whoever is on the roster with him. I'd much rather watch Baker or Jimmy G for a season than Darnold. Even if the results aren't spectacularly better, I am just tired of seeing Darnold play here. We know what he is. It's not fun to watch the same stupid poo over and over.
