  1. The issue really are his dramatic failures on QB and the OL. The draft hasn't looked great this year but we are also talking about half a season into young players careers. Also, his trades for Henderson and Gilmore make the selection of Horn look bad. I realize that it is mostly perception but when you look at the OL and QB(both positions we could have upgraded), it does hurt the argument for CB in hindsight. Now, all that said.....this is 99% Rhule's fault. The buck stops with him on personnel, so he takes the blame.
  2. Don't forget Fox and AJ Bouye who have played well. Tremble and Nixon look like good pickups. The BC and Brown draft picks make his OL efforts look even worse.
  3. Yeah but we heard the bad coaching angle with Darnold and it turned out to not be the case. I liked Fields at the time but he appears to be a project. We will see in about 2-3 years how it is progressing. I'd definitely rather have him than Darnold because at least there is the hope for the future, but nothing he did on Monday night looked like a rookie starting his ascension to elite status.
  4. Young Cam? Cam was immediately better than Fields. I understand the comparison but Cam was much better early in his career than Fields has been.
  5. And how would anything I said have impacted our defense? How is that awesome defense doing so far? 4-5 record?
  6. Anyone over Sam was the right call. Anyone. Because in all those cases we wouldn't have traded draft capital nor be paying a non-NFL capable QB $18 mil next season. Also....the correct answer in 2021 was Slater. The correct answer after that was not trading down and drafting....another offensive lineman. And then not trading down again and drafting....another offensive lineman.
  7. If you look at the bottom 5 Pass Rush Win Rate teams and the bottom 5 Adjusted Sack Rate(FO Stat) teams, you will find almost every QB in that group has outplayed Darnold by a considerable margin. The idea that good or great QB play is impossible with shitty a OL is a myth.
  8. I don't doubt he is trying. He literally cannot help that he is not good at this. Why do you think I blame Rhule? He was dumb enough to trade for him, dumb enough to not have an NFL backup QB and dumb enough to keep trotting out a guy who very, very, very, VERY, VERY clearly cannot play this position in the NFL. So, I will continue to blame almost all of Darnold's play on Darnold, because it is fundamentally his fault. And I will continue to blame everything Darnold has done and will continue to do to destroy this team, squarely on Mr. Final Say's shoulders. Never thought I would flip on Rhule this quick but I would be just fine canning him this week.
  9. So did so many of us. I mean....you don't need to be much more than a mediocre Madden GM to sniff out how bad those signings were.
  10. But but but....I was told it was impossible for a QB to play well behind that kind of line. What happened there???
  11. He wasn't playing as well as the results were in those first four games. There is no doubt our lack of creativity on offense has led to the offense grinding to a halt. However, no one is forcing Sam to heave these ill advised throws up. He isn't even being pressured half the time when he is doing so.
  12. Not in the first round. I am on record multitudes of times as saying this is a bad QB draft. Using a first round pick on a QB prospect in this draft will be pure panic. Get the best OL available in the first round and fix something we can fix.
  13. The staff has made the problems consistently worse by shuffling the deck along the OL nonstop. Oh, and signing dumpster fire, oft-injured free agent OL.
  14. He is the worst QB in the NFL. His play is 100% indefensible. Even our idiot head coach basically sat in front of the media on Sunday and basically said, "You can't throw these passes." He is fuging TERRIBLE.
  15. His play is his fault. We are 3.5+ years in with the same sorry poo. Let me guess, we should sign Rosen and JaMarcus Russell too? After all, hope springs eternal!
  16. Not all. His performances are roughly 90% his fault but the surrounding situation does account for about 10%.
  17. FO DVOA rankings disagree. We have had worse OL's than this. Sad but true.
  18. Just his coaches job, I suppose. Which, I am okay with that.
  19. Unfortunately, I have been right quite a bit under Rhule because his decisions have been so obviously suspect.
  20. You know my thoughts on this QB draft class. If we trade up to get one of these guys, I am just going to take 2022 off. I'll come back when we have a new coaching staff.
