Rodgers would never play a down in Carolina. I have absolutely zero doubts he doesn't want anything to do with us at his age. He's likely just retire if they traded him to us. Also, no one is going to trade for Aaron Rodgers. He has one year left on his deal at a whopping $46 mil. All everyone has to do is basically wait for him to get cut this offseason, which is almost certain to happen. Watson is possible if he wants to come here and Caserio comes to his senses. I see the first as mildly unlikely and the last as extremely unlikely. Wilson isn't coming here. Period. Tua would be an option if Watson goes to Miami, ASSUMING he isn't included in that deal(which I have to assume he would be). I have mixed feelings about Tua, so I wouldn't want to give up more than one 1st rounder for him. Carr I would be completely down to get. He's exactly the kind of guy that would probably thrive in this offense, he has a cheap last year of his deal(2022), and he is reasonably young(30). However, I wouldn't give up the farm for him and he is going to want a contract extension, so I also don't want to be giving him top 5 money, salary cap jump or not. I'd LOVE to have Carr but there is also a price limit.

This is mostly true but some people who are clear trolls should get booted. The PJ Super Fan, he was mildly amusing at times but eventually that gets old too. Sort of like that sanjay dude that kept spamming every thread with a crudely drawn play for a TE pass. He was fine but the repetitive schtick just got old for everyone eventually. Chuck is another great example(current form @Squid Game). He is mostly okay but then he eventually flips out and gets himself banned....again. But, if you can get an alt and eventually behave, no harm, no foul!

He was largely a bust in his career and had lots of production in his contract year. The market is usually fairly wary of guys that have that career arc. His role changed quite a bit to aid that production but I can understand the skepticism. Plus, he doesn't fit the mold of what a lot of teams would necessarily want in an EDGE guy.

All the Florida teams suck except Tampa. I don't think the NFL needs to do anything about it. There are enough loopholes in the federal and state tax codes to drive an 18 wheeler through, especially if you are rich or wealthy. People still want to play in various areas for various reasons and not everyone cares as much about the tax implications as others do.

Yeah, luckily this trash OL is only protecting the likes of Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Darnold and PJ Walker. Those guys have zero future for this franchise. For all the guys that wanted a QB in this past draft so badly, can you imagine putting your rookie investment through this poo? I am actually somewhat thankful we aren't seeing Cam 2.0, where we abuse him until he is broken. This is more like the Jimmy Clausen year(s). Shuffling turds while you get it figured out.

And those guys are absolutely available to us but are those the players you want to sign? If your sole motivation is getting your money I, FOR SURE, don't fault you. However, I probably don't want you as the core part of the winning team I am building because you aren't here to win, you are here to get paid.

I think the biggest part of not being able to attract top talent(which we all really mean QB talent, even though we aren't saying it) is just not being a good team. Like you said, we HAVE been able to attract top guys when we had a team built for success but we don't have that currently. If we don't implode in the next couple of seasons, I think we are building towards that. If you look at the 2023 free agent QB class, there will be many opportunities to sign big time free agents at QB. But we have to show that we are worthy of being a team that a free agent can come to and thrive.

Well Belichick did start his NFL career with a 41-55 record in his first six seasons. Maybe by the end of Rhule's career he'll figure out how to cheat properly as well! I will say this, if we do become the Pats, I FOR SURE want to face them in the Super Bowl to cheat them out of a victory. It's only fair.

Meanwhile, Browns fans are like......

It was a Twatter post so he was undoubtedly getting trolled and it was clearly successful. Zero idea why people still use Twatter.

Play like an NFL QB. Darnold has rarely ever played like an NFL QB and PJ has never played like one. The odds of either of those happening are lottery-esque.
-
I agree with this take, actually. If nothing else, it will show the owner that our coaches have zero idea what a good QB looks like.
-
The roster was not bad, actually. It was that most of those players had basically given up on the team and were just playing for themselves, because they knew this was the end of the coaching staff. They were basically auditioning for jobs elsewhere with the latter half of that season.
-
I don't really care. The fact that he is butthurt over comments from the peanut gallery just means he is spending too much time listening to them. Maybe don't do that. If I were in his position, I certainly wouldn't except to get a good laugh.

Damn. Shots fired! I assume he was talking about Brady or Rhule?

Other than the obvious small market team factors, the fact that have been a bad franchise is an obvious one(no winning seasons since 2017). We also have an EXTREMELY inexperienced and possibly ill-suited coaching staff. That is not going to get win-focused veterans on board, most likely. We also don't have a lot of elite talent here(mostly young talent). Great players want to be surrounded by other great players, because it helps them win more easily. Right now, we are probably most likely a team that is looking at being a destination for big name/elite free agents looking for a paycheck. That's not the place you want to be. But, winning will cure all that. If we build a winning team, better players will want to come here.

It would be nice to get him back in time to not catch passes while we are running the ball 70 times.

Interesting

Yeah, if he is upset about Mayfield, imagine how livid he would be about Darnold.
-
Pretty sure Marshall is still out, so I doubt you see that.

Elflein is maybe the 4th best guard on our roster.
