  1. Yeah....I mean.....I think Rhule's comments basically tell the story. He was critical of Darnold and then says we need to run focus on running the ball more. That kind of tells the story. In our first three games he attempted 107 passes, in the last three games he attempted 117 passes. The disparity hasn't been large.
  2. That's basically my take. Bridgewater can win on a complete team with an elite defense but that is probably about the only scenario where he can. Darnold probably would struggle to win at just about any stop in the NFL. Teddy is the floating turd, Darnold is the sinking turd. Maybe in 2022 we will not choose to go bobbing for turds again.
  3. Yeah, that was the critical flaw in Teddy. He didn't have any instinct at all to win games or take risks. Look at this season. Statistically, he is on pace for his best season in the NFL but.....they are 3-3. He just can't win you games.
  4. It wasn't exactly off a cliff but his TO issues really accelerated in those last five games. No doubt it was a dip in production.
  5. I think the team would be performing better with Teddy right now but I think the overall season results(W's/L's) wouldn't be dramatically different. Darnold will directly lose us games and likely many times. Teddy will not be able to win us games and likely many times. It's really just about how you want to see your losses.
  6. He has flashed more but also been holy poo worse. That's the problem. He is the most Jekyll and Hyde QB we have ever had, IMO. And we had Jake so that says a lot.
  7. I think that is why you are hearing Rhule say we are focusing on the running game more. They all know Darnold can't be trusted to pass that many times in a game.
  8. Well, through six games they weren't being terribly critical of Teddy yet. That has not been the case for Darnold. Rhule talked yesterday about how Darnold hasn't been playing well. IMO, they will be off that bandwagon far sooner. Teddy can lull you to sleep because he completes a high percentage of his passes and does a decent job of taking care of the ball. Darnold does not have that. His mistakes are so incredibly obvious and back breaking. That will make any coach around upset. Plus, Teddy is pretty static in his performances game to game and Darnold is ALL over the map.
  9. Darnold can technically make all the throws. He just struggles with processing and timing it looks like. IMO, that is why he has been such a dramatic failure. The physical skills are obvious.
  10. Interesting that their performances were relatively close, albeit each one better in their relative strengths.
  11. Teddy actually has some pretty obvious advantages over Sam. Pocket presence is definitely a big one. He also takes much better care of the ball, as well. He's actually putting up a better year than he had last year in Carolina(and far, far, far, far, far better than Darnold's 2021) over in Denver. We'd probably be in a better situation had we stuck with Teddy, simply because he isn't going to turn the ball over at the insane rate Darnold has. Now, we wouldn't see him march down the field to tie the game up like Darnold did yesterday. That isn't something Teddy is capable of. In either scenario, Darnold or Teddy, we'd be looking for a new QB because neither are quality NFL starters. Hell, Darnold might not even be a quality backup in the end.
  12. I am wondering if this is because we can't run our playbook because CMC is out or because we can't trust Darnold or because we can't trust the OL. I wonder if that has changed from the first three games to the last three games?
  13. I somewhat question if we aren't seeing the WR's frustration out on the field. Both with the playcalling and with Darnold.
  14. One thing that stood out to me in the Simms clip was how repetitive we are being with our playcalling this early in the season. That is a really, really bad sign for Brady.
  15. Unless there is a stud OL available at our pick, I would expect to see a trade down and gather some additional draft picks. I'd love to end up with an additional 2nd or 3rd rounder to get another OL prospect.
  16. His future is probably an elite OG that can slide to OT. I think most scouts see him as an OG and not an OT. I would love to have him in Charlotte. Really, really nasty disposition. Something we haven't seen since Norwell.
  17. Elflein, Erving and Paradis are unlikely to ever be those guys in their career. Elflein will be 28 next season and is largely likely to be who he is after 5 years in the NFL. Erving is a similar story at 29 in 2022. Paradis is basically close to the end of his career at 33 next season. The issue is that they all suck at most aspects of their job. That's why a combined 6 teams have let them go elsewhere in their careers.
  18. This data was available from just about every other instance of a top paid RB in the past 15 years. On average their career length is quite short because of the beating they take. Even elite RB's typically have a relatively short span of high level production before injuries start setting in or they just generally break down. That ship has pretty much sailed now. We'll have CMC and really at this point need CMC enough for at least a couple of more years. We just have to hope he can give us some longer streaks of being healthy eventually. I know this switch to a 17 game season isn't doing him or us any favors.
  19. I believe you mean clearly. The issues aren't all Darnold's fault, to be sure, but he is clearly a big part of the problem with our offense. Hard to blame his career high TO's/game numbers on everyone else.
  20. I wouldn't have wanted to subject Fields to this nonsense, even if he was just a backup. At this point, he'd probably already being seeing playing time given how poor Darnold's play has been. Then we would be ruining another QB.
  21. This is an easy concept and has existed for decades. If you don't want to be the enemy of your WR's, don't throw them into career shortening collisions. They exist less now because of player safety emphasis but that probably doesn't make Terrace Marshall feel any better.
  22. We don't have the option of dumping him because we have no one else. I'd rather let him take the bullets from this firing squad of an OL than a promising young player. Make no mistake, once we have that remedied, he'll be out the door with them.
  23. Case in point for the people that want to blame everything on everyone else. Darnold is as much the problem as his surrounding cast.
