Add in one 29th rated(DVOA) QB and you have the recipe for a bottom 5 offense!

I literally cannot wrap my head around picking up the 5th year. It was a bad idea then and it's looks even worse in hindsight.

Given the fact that our rushing offense is basically the same as last year(middle of the league), I definitely see why they want to put emphasis on that moving forward. If you look at the 2020 vs. 2021 OL stats on FO, the drop off is pretty bad across the board. The passing offense though......woof.

He's better than what we have. I realize that isn't saying much. He's only on a one year deal with them. I would love to get him in Carolina to add some stability while we find the next guy.

Yeah, agree to disagree. I don't think I want any of the options in this draft at QB. Not to mention....who the fug are they gonna learn from? Not that guy. As strange as it may sound, I'd probably rather go bring in someone like Fitzpatrick/Dalton/Taylor/etc. Just some starting quality veteran who can give us a little breather while we find the eventual guy.

Well we tried to kill Marshall on Sunday, so we aren't going to be seeing him versus the Giants.

Agreed and it could allow him to lengthen his career significantly. Charles Woodson was very successful making that transition.

I agree. We relied heavily on RB passes last year with or without CMC. It's kind of mind blowing that we drafted a RB that doesn't have good receiving ability or that we don't have another one on the roster that does. Robby will eventually get the yips figured out but I don't think we are going to see a dramatic improvement during the season for our rookie RB.

Yeah, I don't deny that but UNC is not an NFL team nor are any of his opponents NFL teams. IMO, he has average NFL arm strength. That really doesn't matter as much as his mechanical issues to me. He has a LOT of things to fix in that realm. Other than that, some nice intangibles, a very nice deep ball and a decent athlete. If this were a different version of the Panthers, I wouldn't mind taking a look at him in the 2nd or 3rd round but this is the OL optional, need a starting QB now version of the Panthers. We don't have a team that will allow him to get better or be successful at all because he isn't going to be a day one ready to play guy. I understand you are a UNC fan but why would you want to see your college crush be put in a situation that he is going to fail in? We aren't the team where he is going to get better.

I haven't watched every game, just 3 of them. Not saying he isn't getting a lot of pressure but that is kind of what I mean with the struggling with pressure. He is clearly not playing as well this year.

I'm okay trading down if we can snag some extra 2nd and 3rd rounders to use on OL. But, if there is clearly an elite OT or IOL available, don't fug that up and take the kid. Even just adding one more solid player on the OL would be a massive improvement. If we can add just TWO more above average OL in the offseason, I think we can see huge improvements

Yeah, that is why you see comparisons to Baker or McCoy. He isn't noodle armed at all but he has average NFL arm strength. The biggest concern is his myriad of mechanical issues and that offense UNC runs. He seems Ike a guy that could use a year or two on the bench getting that all fixed. Also, he has traditionally struggled pretty badly against pressure so this is about the worst scenario possible for him. He seems more like a prospect for a team with an aging, competent veteran in place.

I think we have to find a better QB than Darnold to make the playoffs. It would take a very stellar supporting cast to lift him to that level.

I 100% don't get the hype on Corral. Everything about him screams college level player that won't translate well in the NFL. Very average skill sets. I hope we take take best OL available in the first or maybe trade down into the second and grab another 2nd/3rd so we can take snag 2-3 OL. I wouldn't be upset at all with our first ever OL only draft.

I suspect this is gonna be one of those years where QB prospects drop down the draft. Might only see one in the top 10 and 2 in the first round.

100% what I think. If we don't attempt to make serious fixes to the OL in the offseason, I will have my axe sharpened for the "Fire Rhule" mob.

I don't think we are gonna have much of an option. If we use a 1st round pick on this crop of QB's it will be 100% pure desperation mode and I think be the clear indicator that we will be looking for a new coach sooner rather than later. I think you just try and find a reasonable "better" option in 2022 and hope that the team really takes off in 2022(with a revamped OL perhaps) to make us a much more attractive FA option or go hard in the 2023 draft if there are some strong prospects available.

Yeah, I think he is a talented kid that will play in the NFL but I suspect he is more of a journeyman backup level player. I keep seeing the hype on Malik Willis too, who is another guy I think is a very unimpressive prospect. This is just a bad, bad QB class.

I think we will be in year three of the "QB Carousel." Can't wait to see our next reclamation project!

Go watch the tape on his losses. It is really, really, really bad. Not saying he doesn't have some talent but he looks more like a 4th/5th rounder than a 1st rounder. I'd rather draft capable OL than gamble on much in this 2022 class. It's pretty putrid.

Poor Man's Baker Mayfield will likely get overdrafted(1st round) but I certainly hope we aren't the team doing it.
