Yep but we are seeing that this owner does not, despite what he said. I suspect that may have to do with the coaching staff, however. I don't think they were ever in on this idea of a "rebuild" they have always been in a win now mode. Which...don't get me wrong, they should be. But that may have gotten Tepper excited, only to see this sort of disappointment. If the rumors are true of Rhule talking Tepper out of Fields, this is not a great look this season either.
-
Are you talking about Rhule?
-
Well, Rhule was OC at Temple. If he really feels like he needs to step in, he literally does have that ability. IMO, I don't think you will see that happen. I suspect they all know that the offense is just not recoverable with the current OL/QB situation. Better to have Brady take the fall and can him than take over those duties mid-stream and keep failing.
-
Plus, as much as I am taking a cheap shot, I don't think he has the experience or time to be finding a new QB out there. That is basically Fitterer's job. Rhule has his hands MORE than full enough trying to figure out what it takes to be successful in the NFL.
-
Correct. I suspect that Tepper is the one basically telling them get the deal done. I somewhat suspect Rhule doesn't have the sack to try and get someone better on his own accord.
-
I guess Tepper will be slapping the poo out of Rhule for this QB/OL problem then. Maybe we can have a regular Three Stooges event every Sunday. It would be more entertaining than the games we have had to suffer through.
-
I said two weeks ago if this season doesn't go well that Brady would get canned. Rightly or wrongly, someone's head has to roll for Rhule to save some face.
-
He saved an INT or fumble.
-
I think the energy was pretty low by the time PJ was in anyway. It's possible they are upset with Brady too. I know that is what Robby was upset about.
-
The tape is really tough to watch on these games. We miss a lot of wide open players on offense.
-
QB's who can't pass, OL that can't block.....I am not sure how you adequately polish that turd. In fairness, our running game is middle of the pack in the NFL. Maybe we can just put PJ in and run the wildcat for 4 quarters.
-
We haven't seen definitive signs of that yet, IMO. I see a lot of frustration on the offensive players faces. If the defense starts laying down, that will be a sign that things are over. We have seen players lay down on coaches more than one time in our franchise history. It has never happened and the coach NOT get fired.
-
They haven't deviated from trying to get Sam easy completions to get him in a rhythm. He just can't make the right reads and we are facing more and more defenders stacked in the box because they don't fear our running game or Darnold's deep passing.
-
If the QB situation remains Darnold and PJ, I think we win 2-3 more games. Remember, we do have the possibility of getting some gimmie wins the last couple of weeks of the season if teams are resting players.
-
I had a suspicion that the guys aren't playing super hard for Darnold. I still have that suspicion. The WR's definitely look frustrated with him.

Even in bad QB classes, teams will desperately overdraft QB prospects. Look at Trubisky or Goff or Manziel or EJ Manuel or Christian Ponder or....

Capers was starting from scratch. Seifert took over a 4-12 team. Fox took over a 1-15 team. Rivera took over a 2-14 team. Rhule took over a 5-11 team. -

Yeah, pretty sure you just simply don't understand what the point of this thread is at all. -
I haven't checked the PFF breakdown but I am willing to bet that the OL performed slightly better than the previous week.

Well....it went better than the current rebuild. That's the stats you are staring at in the initial post. That's kind of the point. -

Were we rebuilding in 1999 after a 4-12 season? Were we rebuilding in 2002 after a 1-15 season? Were we rebuilding in 2011 after a 2-14 season? -
