  1. Well take that 8-10. Three of those 8-10 years you are stripped of the ability to add cheap and quality talent in the draft. So that puts you behind the 8 ball immediately. And that isn't even taking into account the fact that we might give up core talent, of which there are only 3-6 players on the entire roster that can be considered that. So stripping us of talent hurts even more. We aren't like the Saints and loaded with talent all over the field to the point we can recover. Stripping talent away and without draft picks means we just aren't a talented team and perhaps for a long time. Listen, if this was 2017 or 2018, I'd be all over this deal but it isn't. We are a bottom five talented team in the NFL so giving up a bunch of draft picks or talent makes our march to the top incredibly difficult for a while.
  2. IF what is being reported is accurate, I believe this would be the largest sum ever traded for a player in the NFL. That's the question. Is he worth that? Given what Stafford and Wilson went for....I don't think so.
  3. Lol. You don't think Warson had talent around him? Might want to check those players he was throwing to. Stafford and Wilson have had talent to throw to as well, so Watson doesn't get an advantage there. I am not even saying he isn't an elite QB, I'm saying this rumored price is off. He isn't worth that.
  4. He is definitely not better than either of those two QB's IMO. Could he be? Yes. Is he now? Absolutely, unquestionably not.
  5. But the age thing isn't that big of a deal. You still have to keep him around, right? How did that work for Stafford or Wilson when their teams couldn't attain or sustain success? So does trading 3 1sts, more picks and players make Watson more valuable if he is gone at this end of this contract? Because, the truth is, it's gonna be pretty hard to get a good roster together without the ability to add high quality and cheap talent. And I understand Wilson and Stafford likely weren't good options because they want to win and that isn't our franchise. I mean purely in theory, why is he REALLY worth more?
  6. Yeah but that isn't honestly a good reason. You have the best QB's in the NFL playing at a high level into their late 30's and early 40's. So why does that make him more valuable? And you are trading for finished products in Stafford and Wilson, versus an unfinished product in Watson.
  7. To me the real question is why is he worth more than Stafford or Wilson? Both those QB's now have a ring and have played at an elite level for years. So what makes Watson worth more in trade value? I honestly can't wrap my head around that.
  8. It is funny that we launched into a rebuild yet have consistently gotten worse.
  9. People aren't going to follow Tom Brady to a dumpster fire, nor is he going to go to a dumpster fire. Furthermore, the only people that followed him to Tampa were Gronk and Antonio Brown. That's a 50% success rate. That team was built before he got there.
  10. Again, 1 inch and 15 lbs aren't gonna do that. Technique will.
  11. They are fine as players, but the value is questionable. They don't immediately resonate as players that are fuging trash like last offseasons early signings. I guess that will have to pass for improvement for the moment.
  12. Size isn't going to make him better. Skill, technique and drive will. That's your inner Matt Rhule talking with the 1 inch and 15 lbs stuff.
  13. It's funny the polarizing views on Verge. My guess is that she knows far less than some of you think and far more than some of you think.
  14. If you are on an internet forum actually threatening physical violence, you basically already lost whatever argument you were having.
  15. I don't think a QB who isn't on our team is keeping people away. It's our terrible owner and coaching staff. That has created a situation where you aren't going to get many guys that want to win to willingly buy into. This is why article after article talk about how we are viewed so poorly by other franchise employees. Make no mistake, this zoo atmosphere was a Tepper creation.
  16. I fully expect the defense to be substantially worse this coming season. It isn't that we lost many truly elite players(save Gilmore) but we don't have replacements for them and will be unable to replace most with equal or better options from the roster(laughable), from free agency(without nuking the cap) or from the draft(only 1 draft pick available).
  17. That is a better OL overall but that left side will get shelled all season long. Can't fix it all in one offseason, though.
  18. Keep in mind we could have had cheap talent in the draft in 2021 that were as good or better than this. Could have had it in 2022 as well. This is the price you pay for fuging up draft picks.
  19. Don't love that price. I hope he can be above average. If not, this signing will hurt.
  20. Please be fuging cheap. Solid upgrade if we don't break the bank.
  21. So we are loading up with safeties that are mediocre in coverage but very good in run support? Could also fix the leaky front 7 so that isn't necessary. Just saying. Not a bad signing, just kind of a whatever signing. Bigger issues to fix that will have much bigger W/L impacts. It should mean Hamilton is off the board if we keep our draft pick in 2022.
  22. There is a difference between guys chasing money and guys chasing success.
  23. Plus good veterans aren't gonna want to come here. Also, if you haven't noticed a trend, Rhule doesn't like veterans.
  24. Good for him earning the big bucks. Very glad we aren't paying it.
