Lol. Like it would be anyone but Nixon anyway?

Josh Allen??

If we can pass the Bears and maybe GB locks up the #1 seed before Week 18, I think we have a shot at being top 5. But our cleanest shot is just Chicago and New York winning a game. That is all it will take.

Willis bust factor is almost off the charts. He is only gonna be successful if he gets drafted by a good franchise with time to bring him along slowly.

Here are the games impacting our draft position(Panthers current SOS: 0.504): Lions(2-11-1) vs. Falcons(6-8) This game could either put Atlanta securely out of our draft range or continue the Lions hot stretch in December. In theory, the Lions could win out and we would be ahead of them in the draft. This may sound crazy but they face the Falcons, Giants and a Week 18 Packers team in Detroit that could be resting players. Giants(4-10) vs. Eagles(7-7) If the hapless and now Jones-less Giants can muster a victory their SOS(0.534) would put them below us in the draft order. Jaguars(2-12) vs. Jets(3-11) This is the proverbial "win-win" matchup. A win by either team creeps them closer to our draft position. For Jacksonville, this would require the highly unlikely feat of winning out(@Jets, @Pats, Colts) but that scenario should give them a slight edge in SOS and we should be ahead of them. In the far more likely scenario, a Jets victory would only require them to win one of their two remaining games(Bucs, @Bills) and it would be a close shave on SOS(0.504). Bears(4-10) vs. Seahawks(5-9) Another "win-win" matchup for Panthers draft position. A Bears win would put them below the Panthers based on SOS(0.527). The Seahawks are currently behind us in the draft order based on SOS(0.517) but a victory here should put them well out of our range.

Luke, Morgan, Beason, Otah, Cam Those have to be the top 5. Maybe Kelvin Benjamin as a potential? -
This Sunday - a likely reality for us Cam stans

Please God, let this happen. No better tank commander than Darnold and no better way to get rid of Rhule than the shitshow that will ensue. -
If we tear it all down again how long would it take...

Eh, you can still make the playoffs without being a complete team. 1 or 2 more average or better OL additions would raise that unit quite a bit. As would a coach that doesn't play musical chairs all season long. Remember, the playoff bar is gonna be around .500. -

We honestly don't know how much re-rebuilding it will take. Given the obvious lack of development of some of our younger players, a new staff will have to sort out if we can keep trucking with what we have or we will need a pivot in direction. And how big will that pivot be? We also don't know what the exodus of players is going to be like. So, while I say that it SHOULD take just 2 years, I do understand there are some factors that could impact that. HOWEVER.....look at the race for the last playoff spot. If we can't be in that discussion, I think there is a real problem. -
The NFL literally served that lesson in positional value to us on a platter. It wasn't subtle. This upcoming draft(if we don't have Rhule) we should find out if they got the message. If we aren't drafting an elite QB prospect or an elite OL prospect.....we can start jettisoning FO people too.

Playoffs we should expect in 2 years max. The NFC South is trash. Rivera took advantage of that and won three straight titles. That's my bar. You should be able to do at least what Rivera did. If not, bye. Superb Owl? That's a difficult one. If you just stay in that discussion regularly(top 3-5 NFC teams) then I expect to break through to the game at least a couple of times in a 10 year span. That seems to be about average for non-Pats teams that maintain success. -
1. Fire Rhule 2. Let the FO find a QUALIFIED new HC with REAL NFL experience. 3. Finally draft some goddamn offensive linemen in the first round.

Yes but it immediately shat all over the story of needing to spend high draft capital to get an elite CB or an elite talent at CB. Now OT however.........remember that comment about no one wanting to even trade us backup OL? Enough said.

The Horn pick went from a little disappointing(from my perspective) to absolutely confounding after the Henderson and Gilmore trades.

Not sure if you remember the draft but it was quite the thrill to see him drop almost to us. It was CRUSHING to see him go right before us. But, in fairness, Slater has been better and we went after us.

I was a Sewell/Slater/Fields or bust guy.

I saw but I wanted to do it in a poll form again because that happened last week too.

So, I got to watch this guy today live and he was matched up quite a bit with Chandler Jones. Largely won those reps from what I saw. Not to mention he was such a high energy and positive presence all game long. Took the the time to high five every special teams player when he was coming on the field. Was a visibly positive and upbeat player all game long. I can't express how much that hurt to see knowing what could have been. Love Horn to death but....damn.
