I'd rather be the Raiders by a wide margin.
-
Yeah, I couldn't blame anyone for wanting out.

Curious to see how many veterans avoid us next offseason if Rhule's dumbass is still here.
-
He was also proven right by not wanting to play here.

Sam Darnold likely starting again for last few games
kungfoodude replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you think Sam is the best QB to lead our offense other than to losing out the rest of the games, you need your head examined. I mean that for coaches and fans alike. Boy ya'll forgot quickly that he was playing like the worst QB in the history of this franchise when he got injured. That said....I'm all in. Sit Cam, make the fans mad, lose all the games to get a top 5 draft pick. If we can just convince Tepper to can Matt Rhule, it will all be worth it. -
Cooking all day, so plenty of options. Beer and bourbon, as well.

This is the Matt Rhule Panthers. If we draft a top shelf LT, he's gonna play C or RG. Then we can grab an overdrafted and undersized RT in the 4th to play LG. Obviously Erving will be the LT.

Christmas Updates: Tepper—you’re losing fans
kungfoodude replied to davos's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was at a very quiet Ford Field for the AZ victory. -
The draft is oddly the least of our worries, IMO. If Rhule sticks around, it literally doesn't even matter where we draft. We will make the wrong choice. Anything in the top 15 should IN THEORY land us a starting OL. But, I am sure we will do something stupid like draft Hamilton from ND or Jordan Davis from UGA(not trashing the players at all) which wouldn't move the needle for the team at all.

Might need to check that tape again. He has been AWFUL

ESPN suggests 2 QBs for 2022 for the Panthers...

Bill O'Brien 2.0. Now with less winning! -
Trading CMC will nuke the cap with dead money. CMC is here to stay.

This sounds about right. I expect Rhule to trade the farm for someone or roll with his boy Darnold. -
But if we let Rhule stay, get ready to see a Bill O'Brien scramble to save his job. You think the 2022 draft is stripped clean of resources in an attempt to win now? Watch what they do to 2023 and 2024 trying to save that dudes job. Watch that cap money get soaked up in free agent reaches.

After 3 games (all wins) what was your opinion on...
kungfoodude replied to SizzleBuzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sam was still missing a lot of open guys in those first three games. He was playing well enough to win, so that got lost in the shuffle. -
I don't think I see a lot of elite NFL traits, so the odds of him being an NFL elite QB are probably a little long, but he has enough skill to be a long term NFL starter. That is gonna take more development than he got at UNC and better development than a typical dumpster fire franchise is likely to provide. If anything, if he does indeed drop down the draft board(still TBD) that could be quite good for his overall career. He could get on a franchise that doesn't throw him to the wolves and hope it works out. Ideally he ends up behind a veteran starter to develop for a season or two.
-
The team around him was bad but he also didn't improve some of the issues he has had his entire career. A lot of those "Number 1 lock!" sort of articles and mocks were based on not having done much of a deep dive. After all, the other guy they listed in that group(Spencer Rattler) lost his job entirely during the season.

Once you step into the league, IDGAF where you went to school. I will root against you based on NFL poo. Like, are you a Pat? Are you a Taint? Are you a Buc? Are you a Falcunt? Howell might be success at the NFL level or he might not. His career didn't progress the way I thought it might, so he is a project in my mind. If he ends up in a good spot with competent development, he could be a good starter in the NFL. If he doesn't, probably just another backup QB with a short NFL career.

Basically me. Did not believe in him at all, saw some of the warts still being present but was cautiously optimistic. Then regular edition Sam played the rest of the year. -
The biggest impact we can have on offense is to shore up that OL. Getting LT figured out means you just need to scrape together an average player and a good player on the interior and you made huge improvements in one offseason. Now, with Rhule back it will be "versatile" 6th round draft picks playing musical chairs behind entrenched starters Pat Elflein, Cam Erving and John Miller. Hell, they would probably draft a CB with Neal, Ekwonu and Cross on the board.
-
Throw Neal on that list, as well. The thing I like about Ekwonu the most is he plays with a level of nastiness that we have been missing for a while on the OL. He just goes out there with the intention to bully you all over the field. That is what you want in all your lineman, offensive or defensive. It's what we have lacked for a while.
-
No. We don't. He has been pretty consistently bad. Whatever Jets version you are talking about is long gone. He's even a shell of that.
-
I can't fall in love with Corral for some reason. Outside of his athleticism, he just seems so average. If we draft him or Pickett, I will begrudgingly get behind it but I will also understand we are probably going to watch us ruin a young QB. That really why I don't want any part of Willis, Howell, Ridder, etc. The rest of the QB's need so much development that we will be unable to give them under Rhule and Co. You are taking guys with high bust potential anyway and then supercharging all their worst qualities.

Not convinced BC is going to adjust to being an OG. Might take some time but will definitely take better coaching. I know this, intentionally trotting out Daley, Miller, Elflein or Erving as starters in game one next season is an IMMEDIATELY fireable offense, IMO.
