Nah. Willis has a way better NFL skillset than PJ. Could also be a worse player.

Day Two guy.

Are we talking in a Rhule coached world? If so, keep Sam. At least we will have another top 5 pick to hand the next staff.

Malik Willis. Very high ceiling, INSANELY low floor.

I wouldn't personally take any of them in the top 20.

Is Matt Rhule the most hated person in Panthers history?
kungfoodude replied to ENCPantherfan2's topic in Carolina Panthers
People hate Rhulr because it is so obvious that he conned all of us. No one loves a scam artist. -
Rebuilding is really never a word that should ever be said about an NFL franchise. The fact that they tore down the 2019 team the way they did and talked rebuild really shows how little everyone involved knew about NFL football. I said at the time I was very, very, very concerned about this "complete rebuild" because franchises that embark on such an undertaking often take years or decades to recover. Largely because it is a sign of ownership that has no idea what they are doing, IMO. Good franchises are always retooling and never rebuilding. You keep core players under contract, have plans to replace guys when they are near retirement and are constantly rotating players in and out of the roster every offseason based on resources available, needs and fit with the current team. You absolutely NEVER let your team get as talent deficient as we were in 2020 and you don't hire guys like Matt Rhule who are going to ruin culture and set the franchise back even further. You know, it's funny Matt Rhule harps on culture but historically great franchises have an actual culture in place that was built over years and can outlast coaching changes and player turnover(see Steelers. Packers, Pats, etc). Yet when when this guy steps foot in here, every veteran who knew anything about winning and success at the NFL level was unceremoniously jettisoned or retired. Then he brings a staff in that has very little NFL experience. And we wonder why this doesn't work. Matt Rhule and David Tepper are making(if they haven't already succeeded) us the old Browns, Bengals, Jets, etc. All the warning signs of a historically dysfunctional franchise are currently present. So, for the people that want to keep Rhule around.....good luck with that. Because you are just damning this franchise to a further and further slide into the cellar. It's one that we may not see them recover from for many years.

2020 Offensive Line vs. 2021 Offensive Line
kungfoodude replied to thennek's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rhule consistently rolling with guys like Erving and Elflein, despite their clearly poor play in their careers are why we struggle. We have a bad OL coach(was known when he wad hired) and a bad HC that probably fancies himself an OL expert because of his 15 minutes of OL coaching experience with the Giants. I said over and over last offseason that Teddy made the 2020 OL look far better than it was because he got rid of the ball so quickly. That isn't the case in 2021. Darnold has always held on to the ball too long trying to figure out what is going on in front of him and Cam has always tended to hold onto the ball too long trying to make a play. With a bad OL, that will get you drilled.....a LOT. -
Almost all of those former successful coaches are not likely to be at all interested in us because of the poor ownership situation. I would much rather gamble on a coordinator than stick with Rhule. Sticking with Rhule means another 1-2 years being added to an eventual rebuild.
-
So Harbaugh, Tomlin or stick with Rhule??? Well the first two are highly unlikely so.....you just want to continue being a dumpster fire?
-
Draft. Beating a shitty Saints team when you are eliminated from the playoffs is pointless.
-
This is the mentality that has us with the current OL that we have. This is the Matt Rhule mentality.

I had that discussion with a buddy a few days ago. I think Luke jumping ship was a sign we mostly ignored. -
Matt Rhule says Darnold will start Sunday

1000% in. This further shows the joke Rhule is and also gets the most important goal accomplished..... -
What would your reaction be if we beat the Saints

LT has been a need for more than a decade now. Also the most difficult position to find on offense. If we had not squandered Day 2 picks this past draft and this upcoming draft, this would have been solved. It is not unsual to be able to find a good starting center in the 2nd round. That said, I wouldn't be upset to get Linderbaum, although we will(rightfully) get skewered on positional value.

Will from The 4 Man Rush was pointing out something in the post game stream from last game, this is actually a bad year to be trying to trade down. There aren't any top flight QB prospects to draw major interest like 2021 and there are two teams with multiple top 12 draft picks that are likely to make it easier and cheaper to trade up. So, I hope Fitterer doesn't try getting cute here. Take BPA(preferably OL) and call it a day.

Guys, guys, guys.....listen....Rhule actually has a GOOD RECORD. We just can't see it!

Could this team beat the 2001 or 2010 teams?

You did selectively take away the defenders that were far, far better than our current ones.
