Pretty sure this was already reported elsewhere(maybe 4 Man Rush). Apparently they pissed off Fitt during the draft and he played hardball.

Well we did start 3-0 last year, so I am not gonna be jumping on the bandwagon that quickly based on recent history. It isn't a risk to not sign the guy. He has never proved to be a huge difference maker in his career. He's a pretty good player at his position but not great and certainly not elite. If we sign him, great. If we don't, whatever. I don't think his addition or subtraction is going to be something that makes or breaks this franchise

I highly doubt I will remember this specific thread but I will remember if I am right or wrong. I have hit on quite a few prospects but I still remember my huge whiffs too. Cam Newton being one.

It's hard for me to ever jump on the "can't miss" bandwagon for an NFL prospect. I think I just held the talent around him and the one year wonder thing too much against him, versus evaluating him on his traits fairly. I will say I thought his intangibles were maybe the best I have seen since probably Russell Wilson.

Mainly because college stats are a pretty terrible predictor of NFL success.

The question 1 and 2 disparity is WILD I don't see how the answer to 1(Corral not starting until Week 10) leads to 2(Panthers over 7 wins).

Burrow just didn't really impress me other than his crazy high level of intangibles. He just seemed like a gamer more than anything. 100% inaccurate. I still think Pickett is the odds on favorite to be the best of this class but I also view the chances of any hits as pretty low.

I had Pickett as my one. I also think his ceiling is Andy Dalton, so that should say a lot. But I also threw "Andy Dalton" at Joe Burrow, so consider that.

It is interesting they tapped into two flameout NFL HC's in this round of hiring.

How hard is it to be more fiery than Darnold? I bet he even delivered the "You'll regret trading me" line to the Jets in a monotone voice.

Also keep in mind that Simms is pretty open about not really any of these guys being first round caliber(or borderline). I do think Corral is definitely top two of the class, though. I agree with him on that.

Not every head coach is a good X's and O's guy. I think it's pretty clear Rhule is definitely not an adept scheme guy. More of a motivational speaker/CEO type.

I don't care how bad a Panthers player is or how much you don't like them, you shouldn't be trolling them on the internet or social media. If you want to say the poo to your friends or other fans, fine. But attacking them personally, that's fuged up. Sam Darnold is one of the worst players I have ever seen wear the uniform. I would never say a cross word to him in public nor stalk him on social media trashing him. Same with that unkempt huckster, Matt Rhule. I have no desire to harass him or his family. It's still just a sport. It's still just entertainment.

You are assuming Fitterer doesn't eventually get canned.

Yeah, Snow is about the last guy I would expect to see get elevated if Rhule gets canned mid-season. Not to mention, that is a Rhule guy through and through, I suspect he is out the door when Rhule goes.

I am already prepping for Corral to not get a fair evaluation from the coaching staff. I keep thinking of what the dumbest possible thing the coaches could do and that's it. It would be very Panthers.

Actually this was not regarded as a very deep draft(overall), hence the run on a few positions that had some upper end quality. Also why I don't believe that many teams, if any, had first round grades on these guys in the 3rd-5th rounds. Mainly because that was what a lot of the scouting/FO quotes basically said. I am not bringing that up to throw shade at Corral or really any of these dudes. I am disputing the OP assertion that multiple teams had first round grades on these guys. I am calling BS based on the results we saw. On paper this offseason appears to be a little better but I am skeptical enough that I need to see the FA's play first before I jump on board. I hope they nailed all of them. Draft included.

So they clearly didn't think these guys were franchise QB's in that case, right? Otherwise you don't let them sit around for three to five rounds.
