  1. But will we hear things in public or will the things that are heard only be in your head?
  2. He haven't "done nothing" at QB, we've just accomplished nothing. There is a difference, albeit subtle.
  3. I am not upset about the one year deals. It's far better than our history of signing big, dumb contracts.
  4. The Huddle always gets too excited about offseason moves. We've hung more offseason banners than seasons we've existed.
  5. I really have no idea how to feel about it. On paper it seems a lot less dumb than last offseason but I just have a generally hard time being excited because of the Tepper/Rhule Effect. If I completely ignore that, B-ish.
  6. Hekker is easily the best signing. Honestly not even close.
  7. We will pick Sam Howell at 6 in a decision almost universally hated by the entire fanbase. Quietly, @LinvilleGorge will purchase one of 53 Sam Howell Panthers jerseys sold in 2022 and will forever blame Matt Rhule for Howell‘s subpar play as a top 10 draft pick.
  8. You mean the rosters he built? He sucks. At everything.
  9. At some point we gotta get out of the way back machine and move on from Cam. As much as the real fans loved him(the ones who hated him were never really Panthers fans), he isn't a full time starter in the NFL anymore. Let's move on to whatever the next chapter is in our Browns like QB carousel.
  10. Depends on who else is on the board. Also, Thibodeaux isn't universally regarded as a can't miss guy. We genuinely may not have him rated as highly as the mocks.
  11. It goes beyond PFF grades. He played very well and certainly looked the part of a franchise left tackle. Barring some Matt Kalil-like fall, that one will hurt for a while.
  12. Yep. At least go down trying, if nothing else.
  13. That's what great players do. I don't think we have many players on our roster who have the passion to lead and be great players.
  14. Slater was the correct choice for us, IMO. I don't think that has anything to do with how good Horn will be as a player, however. Everything about him indicates he will be a great NFL player in time.
  15. I am a little bit afraid that Marshall might end up being a flat out bust. I get that we have issues at QB but he was really underwhelming. I hated the pick(OL stan) but liked the player, so I am a little surprised he didn't flash more in 2021. But, I think taking a WR at 6 would be a very Matt Millen-esque move. We have so many critical needs at positions that adding a top 10 pick WR to a WR corps with a lot of committed money just doesn't make any sense. Even less so considering we don't have a QB. Now, if we traded a QB, I might be persuaded with an argument but as it stands right now, WR is not a dire need nor makes much sense.
  16. Yeah, a pick like Davis is a trade down scenario.
  17. I don't disagree. I think a 2nd would have to be a team looking specifically for what he brings and with plenty of cap space. That may not even exist at the moment.
  18. Yeah bit you are interjecting your opinion on what they will do rather than what they might do. I don't think you can pin at least 3-4 of those teams to even a specific position at this point.
  19. If you listen to Mike Wahle talk on recent episodes of The 4 Man Rush, he basically says that the time they have to work on fundamentals is extremely, extremely limited. That stuff has to be player driven, they have to out in that work on their own. That is why it is so much more critical to be getting "finished products" from an NFL Draft rather than extremely raw material, no matter how talented. That's why some of our draft picks are so fuging stupid. You get a guy like BC because he tests well athletically but you think he is a guard. You pass on a guy like Slater because he has "short arms" despite watching film and seeing what a great player he is. That's another reason I don't have much faith in BC. He was selected by these dopes for high school recruit reasons, not NFL draftee reasons.
  20. Yeah and that was sort of always the direction it was headed once we inked that deal. You don't take a position with such low value in the NFL and expect to be able to gain much in draft value. Honestly, when was the last RB to get traded for a first round draft pick?
  21. I think it is way too soon to be making assumptions about what those teams are gonna do with their picks. I don't think some of them are sure what direction they are going in.
  22. She isn't a fan, she is a "reporter." Those guys aren't gonna fan particularly hard because it's a job, not a passion.
  23. Yep. And that so frequently happens at the RB position. It is a high mileage and short career span position. Guys like Peterson and Gore are extreme outliers.
