Favre didn't mentor Rodgers. Smith didn't mentor Mahomes. Tom Brady had never mentored a player in his career. Now you might learn some things from them by watching and prepping with them. That's real. But you aren't going to have an older QB fighting for their job try to help in that effort. It's a cut throat business, not a charity.

Uh...no

The issue I have is that he is likely to be better than anything we can draft but it's a one year rental versus a long term, cheap deal. So if you gamble, it probably makes more sense to gamble on a cheaper QB. Now, me personally? I take Mayfield ALL fuging DAY over these draft QB's. Why? Precisely because he has one year left on his deal. It either works out or it doesn't. I don't have dead roster weight for a few years(albeit not much).

You remember that preseason championship a few years ago?
-
Any of those players make an impact yet? Ultimately, that is the biggest determination. The value charts matter but not if the players you take didn't work out. So this may look better or a lot worse in a couple of years.

Yeah, I mean. It might not be as bad as it sounds but availability is an ability and if you get suspended while being a long shot to make a roster.....

Rumors of What Panthers Offered for Jimmy G
kungfoodude replied to Biggdaddi1022's topic in Carolina Panthers
She definitely leans on the Rappaport end of the scale. He has never had any filter. Just hear something and immediately report. Hence why he is/was so notorious for being wrong. -
That is sort of the safety net argument. So, Cross is the most polished pass protector but Ekwonu has a level of nasty to him that eludes to him being successful somewhere on the line. Then you have Neal who seems to be a prospect that you made on Madden. I think at least 2 will be Pro Bowlers but I wouldn't necessarily place my bets on who.

More of the wrong now is the rush to be first. That's a widespread problem. Zero vetting, just log on and start spewing. -

Eh, she had the same flaws as a lot of the social media "reporters" do. She is basically a less connected Ian Rappaport. Also, not a compliment. -
$21/month for 12 months?

I don't think Neal is assured to be a LT. RT or OG are possible for him. My view is that Neal and Ekwonu will be successful somewhere on a starting OL. Cross will either be successful as a LT or he just won't be successful. Bottom line, I'll take any of the three.

Well Rhule is a dipshit so the math actually works.

What matters: a QB’s talent or their situation?
kungfoodude replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
Doesn't mean Bill isn't a great coach. He is one of the best of all time......but Tom Brady owes very little credit to Bill. The stories of how competitive he is are well known at this point. -
Dude, seriously......do you think they are shrewd enough for that? My God, think about how much info leaks from that place.
-
It doesn't take discipline when the NFL consensus was that he was too small.
-
I mean....a 4th or less for Love isn't bad. I doubt he pans out but it's a way better and cheaper gamble than Darnold was.

Yeah and Jordan owes his career success to Phil Jackson, right? -
Slow played? Lol....until the 3rd round? Listen....we aren't smokescreening anyone. We are about as transparent as possible.
-
Lol. We gonna take him in the 4th?

What matters: a QB’s talent or their situation?

Not to mention, twice Belichick failed to recognize Brady's greatness. Once when Bledsoe was starting over him(remember he broke through because of injury not winning) and the second time when he tried to keep Jimmy G over Brady. -
Chris Simms top QB is Matt Corral and why you should listen

Insert any other QB in this draft class and the same can be said. They all have ample warts. -

He starts the whole segment out talking about how bad this draft class is and that the consensus isn't wrong about that. -

Nothing Bill Belichick did made Tom Brady who he is. That was all Tom Brady. That's why he kept winning and Bill has fallen off. -

Read my post again. Mariota was unlikely to ever be successful anywhere because he isn't a player that strives to succeed. He doesn't have what it takes. Hence why I say 70% player and 30% team. If you want to be great and put in the work to be great, your team isn't going to matter. Them sucking isn't going to matter. You will do what it takes to make yourself great on your own time. Training, working out, nutrition, film study, personal trainers, working with teammates on your own time, etc. That is what great players do.
