I think it just comes down to whether SF can eat the cap hit versus waiting to get what they want in a trade. If they are smart they get a mid-round pick for him and call it a day. If they can't get that, just cut him.

Jimmy G is better than these guys. Will Jimmy G get us where we need to go under a GOOD coaching staff? No. Will he get us there under this terrible coaching staff? HELLLLLL no.

If we weren't a bunch of idiots that traded away all our picks, I'd consider him in the 3rd. We need an actual upgrade over PJ Walker at some point. But, we also have a weak enough roster that we can't easily afford a luxury like upgrading our backup QB. Especially when our starter is trash.

I don't love it as a two down player but I don't hate it as a team that sucked hard against the run. I'd be upset if we picked him over a top 2 DE or top 3 OL. Other than that.....I would eventually warm up to it.

Or you could just hold your nose for a season, keep that money you'd be wasting on Jimmy G or on a QB in the draft and eventually it just works itself out naturally. I am not anti-Jimmy G, I am anti giving Rhule enough time to send us further into Browns purgatory.

They don't need experience being mediocre. They need experience with a head coach that knows how to get them to winning. That's absolutely not Matt Rhule.

Oh, I am well aware. If the scenario were completely different, I would have no issue with bringing in Jimmy G depending on cost. Right now? It's either going to fail or, even worse, make us have to suffer through more of the NFL's worst head coach.

I am okay to improve to mediocrity but it needs to be on the way to good and eventually great. That, FOR SURE, isn't going to happen with Matt Rhule as head coach.

I am not against a cheap Jimmy G deal. 1-2 years, whatever. As a bridge QB. But not with Matt Rhule. We need competent leadership before we can even think about something like that. Otherwise it is just a waste of money and time.

Yeah, I know Rhule is on the hot seat. Hence why you don't let that fuging idiot make those long term decisions he isn't gonna be here for. Hence why, normally, you just fuging fire a guy like him. But, I mean....what can we say about that at this point? It's not because there is no "top guy." It's because this draft class has low end starters as the upper part of the class and a lot of players that aren't gonna be in the NFL long after that. It is WAY beyond it being no star power. As a fan of this team, I just want to stop seeing us do extremely stupid things. QB at 6 is extremely stupid. We shouldn't have to pivot from making a bad mistake....if you just don't make that mistake in thr first place. Here's the truth, it doesn't matter who we draft at 6 for 2022. We are going to suck next season. Even if we trade the farm for Jimmy G or Baker or whatever cast off, we are going to suck in 2022. So why do I want it to be at the cost of the future of our team? Why waste a pick when you can just get better at one position? Why? Why willingly just go and do something stupid and just hope it works out? At least if you try and take an elite talent, you give yourself a fighting chance at being right. Not taking a 2nd or 3rd round caliber QB and just hoping this is the shot that gets through the defenses and you found an outlier. That's what our strategy has been so far. If we take enough 1/1000 odds shots, one will eventually hit. We'll guess who doesn't do that? SUCCESSFUL GAMBLERS.

We've made it this far into the offseason without them losing their minds and mortgaging the future. We just have to wait another month or so and we should mostly be out of the woods. This has been a nerve wracking offseason just waiting for them to set us back 4-5 years with some ignorant BS, win now moves.
