    That's basically it. There are very few teams willing to do so, and it lowers his overall trade value. If he was on year 3 of a 1st round rookie deal, he would be worth a haul.

    Yeah, it I think it depends on the makeup of the person, as well. Larry Bird and Danny Ainge were very successful. John Lynch has been great. I would be willing to bet that Greg Olsen would be a fantastic coach/exec. Some guys have that ability in them and some don't. Can you imagine how terrible Jordan would have been as a HC? Probably even worse than he was as a talent evaluator.

    This is why I really dislike having former players in roles with the team. You love them as players but if they fug up in these news roles and hurt the team, it's mixed emotions. And it is really hard to separate the two eras. I will always love Dan the player.
