  1. I am not advocating for Tua just saying a non-mushed Tua isn't the worst case scenario for Bryce as a ceiling. But it's also not a top 10 contract player nor a player worth the price we paid to get him.
  2. Also there is the reality of being mediocre like Arizona with the hope of potentially being good versus what we chose, which was to implode the entire organization, burn every aspect of its history and then promptly rebrand as the biggest joke in the NFL. So sometimes when you are faced with a neverending hellish existence that is perpetually attempting a destruction and rebuild cycle, the specter of relative mediocrity doesn't seem that bad. At least there is still some level of hope left. We as Panther fans know this all too well. How we wish for the simpler days of John Fox and Ron Rivera.
  3. The issue is that being slow or unable to read the field is the toughest of all hills to climb in the NFL for a QB. There is an overflowing graveyard of former QB's you have to climb over to get to the very few success stories in that realm. It is not impossible for him to figure it out but it is HIGHLY improbable that he will. The odds there are so incredibly low.
  4. I don't think it's an overpayment issue. That's just the market. It isn't new at all. The overwhelming majority of big QB contracts are for average to good QB's. That's because there are so incredibly few elite QB's. Almost every position has the same issue. The elite guys pull prices up into the stratosphere and the market adjusts.
  5. I didn't want anything to do with Anthony Richardson but if the net result would have been a pivot this quickly away from a bad draft pick, sign me up.
  6. That's true. I did actually mean the FO but that's a fair point.
  7. If you only factor passing, there is a VERY mild argument Dalton is more efficient but it's ignoring the threat Cam was as a big play literally every snap. With his feet OR through the air. Dalton was never that type of player. I would say Dalton over 200 is a very safe bet.
  8. They have been over the past few years, we just don't get them or royally fug it up(Mayfield). The common denominator is that we suck at it. A lot.
  9. A non-CTE Tua wouldn't be atrocious. But, it isn't a guy I want a Tua sized contract attached to.
  10. I think he will be better than healthy Bryce and considerably better than gimped Bryce. Just realize that's a low bar. Don't expect Prime Cam.
  11. Let's say he doesn't peak for two more years. Let's operate under the assumption that is accurate. Explain to me what you view that "peak" as in two years?
  12. Agreed. He has yet to convince me that he really wants to be a good NFL player. Sunday was a lot better. Let's hope there is more of that.
  13. The decision to gut their O-line was fuging insane. Even our idiotic franchise recognized that Bryce was never going to survive without a good OL and remedied that issue.
  14. He has exceptionally terrible funadmentals, definitely the worst I have ever seen for a Panthers drafted WR since 1995. I am just not sure that is all gonna be correctable, sadly. If he can improve enough, he can be a rosterable WR moving forward. That's my actual prediction for his ceiling.
  15. I was gonna say the exact opposite. A gimped up Bryce is likelu to produce a near career worst game. With Dalton at least there is some hope of NFL caliber QB play.
  16. I think we are surpisingly competitive in a "get right" game for them after struggling the previous two games against bad teams. We just aren't able to be efficient enough on offense as Canales keeps denying Rico the bulk of the work and our passing game still can't take a big enough step forward. Bills 38, Panthers 27
  17. Improve upon the 7% career drop rate for one. Maybe improve upon that catch rate, which is the 2nd lowest of those 2024 1st round rookies while also being the least productive.
  18. Yeah and if you think Bryce was slow making reads....boy howdy.....get ready to watch some poo.
  19. He would probably be balling out in San Fran or Detroit too as some examples. Undoubtedly, he wouldn't play nearly that well here. Well anyone is going to look good next to Brian Daboll, who is the worst head coach in the NFL.
  20. Hooker was a 2023 3rd round draft pick that one of the best draft evaluation teams in the past five years(who would have thought that would be said) bailed on after two offseasons(he was recovering an an ACL tear all of 2023). That ain't a good sign.
  21. I watched him play there. It had nothing to do with "fit." He was just incapable of making NFL throws.
  22. Oh well. Rally and thump the Avs.
