That is a very different and very unfair comparison for literally all 31 other teams. They have that stupid, unwatchable play they run to a ton of success that no other team can do at that level. fug them and that crap. Can't wait until the league bans it.

Yeah but if you are talking about something like an extremely rarely used or needed play like a QB sneak, it's already a pretty off the rails argument. That doesn't factor in enough to W's and L's to be something that is particularly relevant. If you want to talk overall arm strength, field vision, footwork, consistency, athleticism, etc on Bryce, those are all valid critiques of his game and why he hasn't been successful. But the oddball obsessions about pretty meaningless aspects are a bit bizarre. QB sneaks? Not enough 40+ yard passes? Workout regimen?? Guys....there is ample stuff to criticize without this kind of nonsense.

I doubt it's willingness. It's just not smart. Both from a player protection perspective and also.....Bryce isn't built for that. Not all QB's are. What advantage would he have that our RB's wouldn't? It's not reach. It's not build. We don't run a QB sneak with him on short yardage because....that's just fuging stupid.

You think Fitzgerald will be but not Brees?? I gotta disagree. Especially since they really moved the goalposts on that position.

what does bryce young excel at
kungfoodude replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's probably a Z. Wilson, Darnold, etc. Guys that generally it became pretty obvious these weren't franchise QB's to build around. Which, that's pretty much Bryce Young as of today. -
Cam was very honest about that. He said he got caught up too much in the Superman persona and the feeling he had to carry the team. I bet if you asked him outside of a camera he would probably admit that he should have probably played the game with more focus on protecting the length of his career. With taking the hits and also protecting that arm with some of the really bad habits he had there.

I would have to disagree simply because Bryce leans play extender so that has led to a lot more big hits when he is scrambling. And he has definitely taken some serious shots in his time here. Bigger shots that some said he could. As you say, he isn't going to play like Josh Allen or Cam(those are the real examples you are searching for). But he doesn't wilt like David Carr did, either. Overall, I am no longer worried about Bryce's durability. That seems just fine. I am very, VERY worried about his QB abilities. That's a real concern. That's way too much of a theoretical argument for me to lend a ton of creedence to. I am not here to critique a QB's workout regimen. Between they, the team trainers and their own personal trainers it should be something that is tailored to whomever. If that isn't happening, it just is what it is and they probably didn't dedicate themselves enough. Again, far from a worry for me with Bryce. His NFL QB ability is the sole concern for me.

This seems to be a relatively long running issue, IMO. The LB's have not been a priority since the Luvu signing.
-
Someone in the structure doesn't value ILB's, IMO. Could be Evero, could be Dan.

Eh....I just want to see BPA for the most part. I don't want to see another desperate draft like we used to see with Rhule and Fitterer. Defense should be on the forefront for sure.
-
Can't do it all in one offseason. Hopefully they make some progress in the draft.
-
I think that was part of the reason Mayo was out. That relationship soured hard and quick between Kraft and BB.
-
Yeah, that whole scenario was fuged up.
-
I mean, let's not cheerlead the man getting injured. That's low class even by Huddle standards.
-
Well he didn't dramatically change when he was over Bryce last year. I think this is literally just his offense.
-
Yeah, honestly he has been significantly more durable than this Superman-esque QB in Anthony Richardson that so many here lusted for. If anything, Bryce has dramatically outdone the qualms about his size and durability. Now his QB play.....woof.
-
That was worse than Bryce's worst NFL game of his career to date. He was fuging atrocious.
-
Well that is the difference between Cam and a lot of QB's. I certainly hope no one is confusing Bryce with an elite QB talent anymore. The remaining Bryce question is really if he is even an NFL starting QB.
-
Buffalo is not playing like an elite team. That New England team that whipped us is also not that good of a team. We will see how it goes.
-
Look, guys....this horse has been beaten enough. CJ struggling doesn't mean Bryce is good or even better. Yes it can raise questions about the grass always being greener but regardless of which of those horses your bandwagon is hitched to, you need big improvements in play. Period. The one thing you can say for CJ is that at least he had a full season of showing elite play. We are still waiting on that for Bryce between benching, injuries, etc.

I am not getting too far ahead of myself on expectations. I predicted 4-7 wins and I feel pretty good about that considering the rest of the remaining schedule. The biggest remaining thing to figure out is Bryce. We have to get that situation determined over the remainder of his starts. I am 90-10 against picking up that 5th year but that scenario should immediately involve a trade when that happens. I suspect it will not happen that way at all. Ekwonu looks great, so that fantastic. Brown and Horn are staying healthy and living up to those massive contracts. That's amazing. And the 2025 guys are looking filled with promise. Sadly the 2024 class just keeps looking worse. So my remaining focus is on the development of TMac, Jimmy Horn, Coker, XL, Scourton, Umanmielen, Evans, etc. If we can get a few wins from that group this roster feels demonstrably better. Wharton has played well for the FA pickups too.

I am gonna say that I don't know that all of the top 15 QB's would this offense cooking. Not only due to fit but I also have yet to be super impressed with DC the playcaller. For all the talk of DC being hamstrung by Bryce, I am not convinced he is a terribly adept OC. Not saying the bulk of our offensive struggles are not primarily Bryce but I wouldn't be so sure an upgrade at QB would instantly turn us into an elite offense. I still question DC. Also, I will point out that most top 15 QB's would not be super pleased to be looking at the prospect of our WR Corps and TE group.
