  1. I compared him to Thomas because of the price tag. Ian Thomas was obviously worse but the fact we kept paying him was fuging infuriating. Yeah, I mean I get that he might not have had continuity but as a professional you really need to be doing what it takes to improve your overall game if you have the drive to be great. TBH, I sort of just tend to think he is just never going to be more than a lower end receiving threat. It's just not who he is. Which, again, that's fine but just don't pay out the asshole for a blocking TE. Give him a market or market+ rate.
  2. That's another brilliant GM that uses draft capital wisely too.
  3. Jones may never even be a good Tier 2 QB in the NFL but Richardson is fuging awful.
  4. I would say it's been a fairly mixed bag so far in free agency. A couple of puzzling financial deals but overall we appear to have slightly improved the roster. The goal is that. Get better.
  5. I mean, this could be one of the best RB classes in the past 20 years in terms of depth. I don't know what leverage he thought he had.
  6. I don't think it's hate. I didn't agree with the size of the deal was the main issue I had. We paid him like he is a pretty good TE, which is a very much not. He is basically a blocking TE, which are a dime a dozen in the NFL. Yes, certainly if he develops into a pass catching threat the deal looks great but it's been three seasons without much in the way of development there. I think he just is who he is, an athletic blocking TE.
  7. Yeah, I think his success at OG will put him well out of that range. But, you are also talking about using him in a way we could likely get a versatile backup in the draft and do similar. Maybe not be the pure freak Becton is but at a reasonable price.
  8. The RB draft is LOADED. You would be a fool to sign a FA RB.
  9. Geno. The other two will lead to top 10 draft picks for their respective teams.
  10. Becton is too expensive for what you are talking about, however. He has too many starting opportunities in the league.
  11. But he does actually catch them. That's the problem with a lot of our TE's currently(minus maybe Sanders).
  12. Seattle fans are really going to be crapping their pants after season 1 of Darnold. I don't know if that new HC was on board with that signing but he's probably headed out the door when Darnold does in a couple of years.
  13. It ain't the Saints if they aren't kicking the can!
  14. Well, keep in mind our DL is basically two starting caliber players and a lot of rotational guys. Same with our LB's/EDGE guys. Make no mistake, ON PAPER, it's squarely a bottom 10 unit. We just need to make some quality additions in the draft and perhaps we can move towards being a mediocre unit. No one should have any illusions of a sudden top 10 unit. You don't come from as bad a unit as we had(not statistically, I mean from a pure talent standpoint) and make it into a good unit in just one offseason. It's gonna take a LOT of work. But, the vision they are projecting is clear. Get younger. So they are operating as if they are aware this is a long term process. I don't agree with everything they have done but I am happy they are finally self aware enough to realize this isn't going to turn around quickly and we aren't 1-2 players away. That was MURDEROUS during the Rhule Reign of Terror.
  15. Yeah, either Cincy is really going to work hard to keep this all together or they have dramatically miscalculated and it's going to end really poorly.
  16. Money and age. He is 33 and was due a pretty big chunk. They netted something like $4 mil savings on the cap. His play has not dropped off at all but admittedly, he probably is shopping for a contender rather than another paycheck. I agree. I don't think he fits with our current youth movement, however. Love the player, though.
  17. If you wanted an idea of how bad our team actually was/is, precisely one of our free agents was signed yesterday.
  18. He would immediately be the best blocker and receiver of all of our TE's and RB's.
  19. This is precisely what I would be worried about. Also, the idea of keeping Higgins over Chase is just absolutely nuts. Burrow would have a fuging stroke.
  20. We are currently constructed on offense as a ram it down your throat rushing team. He would also add an element of being a reliable safety valve for the QB. What say you, Huddle? Get one of the last true FB's in the NFL?
  21. BPA with a dramatic preference to trading down. Hasn't changed at all due to any of the signings.
  22. While true, contracts like Wharton are pretty big head scratchers. Overpaying for big level OG's like we did last season made some sense. But you can't pay top 30 starter money to basically a fairly average player. That hurts in the long run.
  23. Front 7 is still pretty bad. Brown is a big upgrade but Wharton is a pass rush specialist who is very poor against the run. Jones is also a rotational pass rushing guy, so that won't move the needle much. Draft will need to be very, very good to make a big turnaround.
