I am not sure I see three straight wins against the Saints, Cards and 49ers. Even at home. I can't look at what we do as a team and say that it makes me have any confidence against those three head coaches. Especially Shanahan.
-
Does he remember when they then went 2-7 after the three game streak?
-
Yeah, too much of what I am seeing is predictable and then some of it is worse than I expected, so this has sucked. Which, to be clear, this hasn't even been disaster level yet. We are a hair away from being 2-0. My big fear is that it's going to descend into that if we don't figure something out soon.

Well most of what that crowd tends to view as whining and complaining is just literally looking at our situation and describing it. Do some of them take it too far? 100% Conversely, nothing is more annoying that the Sunshiners derailing every thread with a bunch of ironically negative posts.....about negative posting. But, yeah, most of the people doing that get REAL scarce as these seasons start going to poo. It's not like this isn't a predictable pattern, most of the last few years have been miserable for Panthers fans. I also tend to stay away from the GameDay threads because it's too hard to follow that and to watch the game. I want to watch the games.

Will Rhule have the players tap the sign?
kungfoodude replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers

I don't think Rhule is knowledgeable enough to be hands on with the offense.
-
Yeah, he liked to communicate with Brady through press conferences too. All about shifting responsibility away from himself. He has a knack for that.

For contrast, just how bad is our OL STILL?
kungfoodude replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
My guess is that FO's stats and ESPN's PBWR's stats are going to dramatically differ. -
Well we do have schematic issues on both the offense and defense, so I don't think that solution is anywhere near a magic pill. If you fired Rhule and Snow tomorrow, I don't think there would be a drastic change in our outlook from where it is now, unfortunately. I don't think these guys have enough polish to shine this turd up. It just kind of is what it is for 2022.
-
I think you vastly overrate a guy like McAdoo as a HC. Not to mention a lot of the damage is already done. Do you think that we can just take a wholly new defensive scheme that Wilks would run and just trot it out there to any success? This isn't a realistic scenario. Rhule will be the guy until Tepper decides he isn't.

Yeah, I am very suspicious of this "we are so talented" narrative. I see some talent but this appears to be a pretty bad roster, IMO. But, it's so young we may not know how good/bad they are for a couple of years.
-
Yeah, this is literally people staring a screen imagining people smiling and cackling like lunatics at these failures versus the typical reality, which is somewhere between general apathy or genuine outrage. I am more apathetic than anything, TBH. I watched the game yesterday with little emotion at all. I'm over the Rhule era to the point that I don't actively get emotionally as involved as I typically do. Just a casual observer.

That's the thing, he has long been known as a charismatic speaker so it's easy to sometimes buy into those types when things aren't falling apart. But the amount of red flags that began mounting over time became progressively harder to ignore. I commend you for being able to stay positive as long as you did and also for finally seeing the light on who he really is. I just hope for all our sakes this fuging owner sees it.
-
Horn's biggest problem is basically the one he had in college. He gets rather grabby, so he is going to end up getting some flags. Other than that, I don't see why he is getting any shade.
-
Yeah, it really does. If it is anything like that, the team will break and the ass whippings will commence in earnest. If we don't get a victory in this next three game home stand, I think the team will collapse.
-
It's funny that after two last minute losses, I just don't see much of an avenue for future success. I will be very curious to see the reaction to the team next week at home. I expect we will hear some loud booing.
-
They ruined their own narrative in that regard will two years of "win now" moves. They didn't believe that and they never believed that. It's also not reality. It doesn't take that long to build a winning NFL team.
-
He doesn't care about the fans even remotely. He basically called us basement dwellers(which was actually funny, TBH) in the Steve Smith interview. He probably cares about winning but he doesn't believe that he made the wrong decision yet. That will come later.
-
He is literally historically bad. Literally.
-
That's pretty standard for that crowd. They always whine about negativity but they always disappear when things get rocky. Funny how most of the people they claim are overly negative are usually here for the wins and the losses. Guess we see who the fairweather fans really are.

I agree with this. I think Tepper truly believes he is some sort of genius level guy that just sees things that aren't there. I'm sure this is spurned by his business successes where he stayed the course and was proven right. Well, this is the NFL. He doesn't have the football acumen to realize what everyone else already has, Matt Rhule will never be a successful head coach in the NFL. He could get 3-4 more years of NFL experience and he still wouldn't know how to be successful in the NFL. It's not in him and he isn't a real football guy like he makes himself out to be.

At what point does Fitterer start taking heat too?
kungfoodude replied to BIGH2001's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think he took the job because it was a clear path upward in his career. That's probably about all it was, TBH. -
I believed in Baker. But I was wrong. Also, the OL sucks ass.
kungfoodude replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Even if they do, it's not going to get much better. I'll just about guarantee that. It will still be Ikey making mistakes(albeit perhaps not as frequently) and BC getting mauled at LT. -

It's literally not hiding. I am as skeptical of Fitterer as it gets but we really don't have any clue what percentage of his moves are "his" moves because he isn't even a real GM. Which is also fuging stupid, BTW. The fact that Tepper agreed to that structure shows how fuging clueless he was. -

Yeah, you need to watch more. Most of these guys are getting beat. It's not Elflein's fault BC gets beat. It's not BC's fault Ikey gets beat. It's a bad unit with a rookie that was most likely always going to be bad(feel free to read up on Andrew Thomas who we played today and his rookie season), a very undersized LG of questionable ability, a fuging terrible center and a ho-hum journeyman RG.
