I don't see him as being terribly developed, unfortunately. -

Arm talent(nor athleticism) isn't the issue with Richardson. It's all the other aspects of being an NFL passer that are insanely suspect. -

At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tepper decides to coach in 2023. -

Considerably higher ceiling than Willis and a considerably lower floor. I don't want to see us make this pick at the moment because we aren't sitting on a staff capable of developing such an insanely raw prospect. That may change depending on who we hire in the offseason. -

A pretty good chunk of the people who have participated in this thread and panned your "question." -
Well, that is the difference between competent offensive coaching and incompetent offensive coaching.

I am not convinced that Fitterer is a guy that pays much attention to compensatory picks. TBD because it is clear that Rhule was largely running the show.
-
If he can rattle off a couple of wins or more, the bumps up the draft order we get will be worth more than whatever small compensatory pick he would have provided.
-
I hope he tears it up in LA. It improves our draft stock and hopefully will embarrass Tepper enough that he fires Ben McAdoo before the season is over.

You can try to polish this turd as much as you want but there is a reason we all are looking at this as a turd. -

You are literally finding stats to make your argument. That's your prerogative but it's also not reality. -

I understood the question, I think it is you who didn't understand the answer. -

We answered your question pretty conclusively but you simply chose not to listen. -

IMO, it is because a simple, basic understanding of statistical probability isn't present in most fans. You just see Russell Wilson in the 3rd or Tom Brady in the 6th and that now becomes the norm, despite the fact that nothing could be further from the truth. -

If you want to try a strategy of only trying late round QB's, good luck. This is a strategy of ignoring all facts and statistics. If you build your decision tree on only considering outliers, you will fail. If you fall prey to hot takes, you will also fail. The statistics are extremely and painfully obvious when it comes to drafting QB's and their success rate. It is very heavily weighted towards 1st round picks historically. If you are looking for 100% success rate, it's probably best to just never draft anyone because that isn't how the NFL draft works. The examples used here are completely ridiculous. The 49ers are not going to move on with Brock Purdy. They have seen less than a game of him. In all likelihood he will play well for a stretch and then fall apart, like most backup QB's do. Mike White is not the future in NY. They know that because he has been on their team for the last two years and had a 2-3 record with some middling to bad production. At some point you do actually have to look beyond a game or a stretch if games. If you don't, you'll end up with Sam Darnold/Kyle Allen with a 10 year, $500 billion dollar contract after 3 games of play. I really just wonder what is running through some of your heads sometimes.- 81 replies

Plus there is the obvious albatross of who would be developing him still to be answered. TBH, I think maybe our path is a lot more clear when our staff is finalized. Well....and our draft position. -

I mean, there is an element of it being his personality. He was controversial for always wearing his emotions on his sleeve but that guy loved football and loved winning. Delhomme was that kind of guy too. Both intense competitors that were always emotional. -
Yeah I remember how that all fell apart in LA. McVay was ready to move on and I think it is a positive thing for Goff's career too. If I was the Lions, I would probably stick with Goff unless an elite QB prospect is available.
