  2. You are literally finding stats to make your argument. That's your prerogative but it's also not reality.
  3. I understood the question, I think it is you who didn't understand the answer.
  4. We answered your question pretty conclusively but you simply chose not to listen.
  5. IMO, it is because a simple, basic understanding of statistical probability isn't present in most fans. You just see Russell Wilson in the 3rd or Tom Brady in the 6th and that now becomes the norm, despite the fact that nothing could be further from the truth.
  6. If you want to try a strategy of only trying late round QB's, good luck. This is a strategy of ignoring all facts and statistics. If you build your decision tree on only considering outliers, you will fail. If you fall prey to hot takes, you will also fail. The statistics are extremely and painfully obvious when it comes to drafting QB's and their success rate. It is very heavily weighted towards 1st round picks historically. If you are looking for 100% success rate, it's probably best to just never draft anyone because that isn't how the NFL draft works. The examples used here are completely ridiculous. The 49ers are not going to move on with Brock Purdy. They have seen less than a game of him. In all likelihood he will play well for a stretch and then fall apart, like most backup QB's do. Mike White is not the future in NY. They know that because he has been on their team for the last two years and had a 2-3 record with some middling to bad production. At some point you do actually have to look beyond a game or a stretch if games. If you don't, you'll end up with Sam Darnold/Kyle Allen with a 10 year, $500 billion dollar contract after 3 games of play. I really just wonder what is running through some of your heads sometimes.
  7. Plus there is the obvious albatross of who would be developing him still to be answered. TBH, I think maybe our path is a lot more clear when our staff is finalized. Well....and our draft position.
  8. I mean, there is an element of it being his personality. He was controversial for always wearing his emotions on his sleeve but that guy loved football and loved winning. Delhomme was that kind of guy too. Both intense competitors that were always emotional.
  9. Anyone with all three prior to his firing should get complimentary season tickets.
  10. Yeah I remember how that all fell apart in LA. McVay was ready to move on and I think it is a positive thing for Goff's career too. If I was the Lions, I would probably stick with Goff unless an elite QB prospect is available.
  11. Yeah, Goff gets way too much criticism for being a bad QB. He has really never been a bad QB in his career. He's been mediocre at times but overall he's a pretty good QB.
  12. I think people are confusing 2021 Goff and 2022 Goff improvements with being Goff career improvements. He has been better than last season in this offense, without question. He isn't dumping the ball off all the time like he did in 2021. But this season also isn't a dramatic departure from him in that McVay offense.
  13. I didn't mention the play because I just assumed that most people could kind of tell that it wasn't drastically different. Do you really not remember him on the Rams?
  14. I am genuinely perplexed by this "development" idea on Goff. Can someone point out why this season he seems more "developed" than in previous seasons?? Statistically, he is basically doing the exact same thing he has done his entire NFL career.
  15. Not like the divisional guys, Pats or Broncos.
  16. We just need him to get hot for like 2 games minimum. Baker....you didn't help us here but you can help us there. Win some fuging games, buddy. Give us that draft pick back by bumping the Rams down that order.
  17. TBD. We did see Willis and supposedly all his ceiling drop like a rock. I am interested to see how it plays out.
  18. Yes, Richardson has a much higher ceiling than Willis. I think that goes without saying, really. I am not 100% sure we will be in a position to nurture a guy with as many problems as Richardson has. But that can be said of any rookie QB to an extent. We will see what happens. Maybe we can jump up this draft board enough to have better options at QB.
  19. So you basically just had an entire argument in your own head that didn't have any relation to the actual argument you typed into words on a publicly viewable message board. Got it.
  20. Notice that Shanahan went with Josh Johnson as his recent hire given familiarity with their offense. That's something that cannot be ignored. It takes time to adjust to a new offense and there isn't very much time left for that to even happen.
  21. I will accept either the Rams or Texans as destinations for him to miraculously turn around. https://www.tankathon.com/nfl At this point, I might be rooting for him to succeed at one of those places more so than here.
  22. I am not here arguing he might not go in the 1st round, either. It's very possible. I just don't want to be the team spending a top 10 pick on the guy. Or really a 1st, if I am honest. I am curious to see this play out. I want to see if he proves to be the media creation that Willis was. And, IMO, Willis was a more polished passer.
